NVIDIA New GTX 1080 Cooler Shroud Design Confirmed
It looks like the over-the-top, edgy design of the reference-design cooler of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards, which was extensively pictured, is real. Pictures of the aluminium cooler shroud first surfaced in April, when a CNC mill worker leaked pictures of two cooler shrouds fresh out of a machine. A render of this design formed the background image of GeForce website since its most recent update, announcing today's Livestream of the NVIDIA GeForce "Pascal" launch event.

IMO it is fugly.........give me some RADEON 5800 looks - that was a beauty
Secondly I find it more like the new transformer movies, the old was more square, the new is a mess of angles.
but eh, its but a cooler, if it works it works I guess.
I hope its between $349 to $399 with a GTX 980 Ti performance.
That said, I really hope MSI ditch their red dragon design for the next Twin Frozr. Their Twin Frozr II and III were much better looking than what they have now.
also, im 12 and enjoy spending a months pay on a sidegrade
I mean lets be honest, 99% of the news out there probably does not interest you.
Not sure about the quality of the turbine fan thou. From all the cards I had with that kind of fan, all of them were noisy under load and get warm pretty fast.
Also, as a side note, y'all need to calm the hell down. I'm getting alerts out the wazoo for reported posts that do not need reporting.
It's a sodding stock cooler. Calm yourselves.
As far as the cooler goes... meh. I'm going to go click on another article.
Well, its a decent looking cooler to me. I am interested if it offers any improvements over the previous reference cooler!
So to echo what @RCoon just said.....calm down, we're getting too excited over a cooler shroud:slap:
It is a wee bit shit looking IMO. But then again, I can't recall the last stock cooler I had that I didn't bang a block on... Well, I can. it was a Radeon HD 5850.
I think most people are getting tired with (mostly) the same default design since 20 years ago. I mean, seriously, how expensive those dual or triple fan cooling solutions can be compared to the stock one??
I mean even 3DFx's VooDoo5 cooling solution was better :))))) (j/k)
and stop complaining about something new they decided to bring us?
