Battlefield V Revealed: 1942 Reimagined

EA-DICE released the first reveal trailer of "Battlefield V." The reveal shows a slice of what appears to be actual in-game footage. The game re-imagines events of WWII, after the series' excursion with WWI. It portrays a pitched battle somewhere in Europe with British troops fighting Nazis. There's also the depiction of female soldiers, hinting at the possibility of strong female characters, or even a female protagonist (as opposed to second-fiddle female NPCs in the likes of Battlefield 4 campaign). There are no technical details of the game, but it appears to leverage DirectX 12 API with even more features than Battlefield 1. Battlefield V is slated for release on October 19, 2018. It's open to pre-orders on Origin.

If pre-orders were up before today I wonder how many and what percentage of them got canceled as a result of the reveal.

Well, that's not such a stupid idea. I mean, I loved the Wolfenstein setup where Nazis won the war and everything was screwed up in terms of how we know the actual history. It was fun in a way, fighting battles that never happened in familiar setup.

Fun in a single player game. This is... something else.

I have been a BF player since BF2, stopped playing CoD after WaW #5. However after that New CoD Blackout Battle Royal game mode, I would love to see Battlefield have one. I may end up back in CoD if it doesn't.

I think it looks amazing, the fact you can move emplacements around and build new ones, its like Company of Heroes but in first person.

Finally, a WW2 game that isn't a clone of Saving Private Ryan film.

The one word that comes to my mind is trash. Honestly, this looks like pure trash. I'm sticking to BF4, see no reason to switch. BF1 didn't really impress me either because it felt like they stripped away part of the time when switching it over to the battlefront style va the bf4 style. I am most certainly not going to be buying this. Not to mention I hate EA with a burning passion so buying anything from them is with hesitation. If I wanted a game with nice graphics I'd play forza, just saying

Is it? why? Fun is fun. Good gameplay is good gameplay. If you go for sim/historically correct battlefield was never never the game. That said our 'gaming-group' have agreed to not support EA for now given their business practices.

A handicap woman on the front lines fighting along side a black man with Scottish war paint on and some jerk off doing ninja moves with a God damn katana on his back during operation market garden? Let me guess the white guys is a sniveling cuck. WTF did I just watch? This is what happens when you let women vote.

I'm not buying this one. Ill be playing the new Rage I guess. I'm not going to contribute to this feminazi BS. If they wanted to include women in the game fine! 2143 would have been fine. Some alternate reality would have been fine but, they sold us WW2 immersion and some chick running around one arming a Lee with a plastic arm is just a bridge to far. MUCH INCLUSION.

Before I hear "but women served!" congratulations you googled. I would like to add never on the front lines unless conscripted by the Stalin and or as a resistance fighter. I would guess about 99.9% of the people who fought front lines were men. Again this is a SJW free for all rewriting history for a social agenda. We are spiraling toward another dark age.

I cant say I'm excited for this. A modern shooter without paid map DLC? Ok, so how is EA going to ruin this one?

You cant trust them, every time they have tried to change their ways, they just find new ways to monetize their product. and BF 3 and 4 just never measured up to BC2, so I didnt bother trying 1, but I heard it was just more of the same CoDified gameplay.

She's British from what I can tell. I think she founded the SAS or something. She gave them the motto "Who Dare Wins with a plastic arm!" but the queen thought that was to specific so they shortened it a little......not her arm. The motto.

See these are actually women who identify as men. Such bravery.
