CD Projekt Red Releases Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer with Hidden Message

CD Projekt Red made good on their promise to present their role-playing game at this year's E3 event. Although the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer is only 1 minute 41 seconds long, it did reveal new details about the game. However, CD Projekt Red did so in a very ingenious way. A YouTube viewer spotted a hidden message at the end of the game trailer. In order to view the complete message, it's necessary to view the trailer in 4K resolution and drop the playback speed to 0.25 around the 1:39. We've provided a transcript of CD Projekt Red's message to their fans below. Enjoy!
CD Projekt Red's Message
It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and… went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves and get to work. We wanted to give you the Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.

As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine, we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077's pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point we made the decisions to resume talking about the game when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realize you've been impatiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn't like anyone to feel that we're taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :)

But to the point. Today is the day. If you're seeing this, it means you saw the trailer. - our vision for Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacorporations control all aspects of civilized life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and… well, you'll get to know the rest of what show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for the previews!

Before we finish, you probably have some questions,

1. When?
When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much closer to a release date than we were back then ;) but it's still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us. It's the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.

2. How big?
Seriously big, but… to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we'll do this before we start talking about pre-orders or ask anything of you.

3. Free DLC/Expansions/DRM
Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077, will be 100% DRM-free on PC.

4. Microtransactions?
In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?

Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you posted we treat it very seriously.

Yours,

CD PROJEKT RED Team

I think this is going to be exceptional, and luckily for me, patience is a virtue.

This does look very good. Quite sneaky for Microsoft to disguise their lack of exclusives at E3 by borrowing a lot of cross-platform announcements.

The trailer didn't do much for me but I'll still get the game. I was too hyped for the trailer.

I seriously wish them the best. If they keep succeeding, gaming industry will be forced to follow their ethics and that will be OUR win as customers. To get games for decent value, made from devs who think firstly as gamers. Let's us hope that they will make a great game with 2077.

EA Games, take note you microtransaction thot.

I wish CD Projekt simply doesn't change (NO PUBLISHER / EDITOR PLZ). They are exemplary. Wish them the best of luck for CyberPunk, 100% sure I'm gonna play this game.

Long like CD Projekt. Witcher 3 was simply one of the best game ever, and its DLC DeLiCious...

You say that like exclusives are a good thing. IMO they are not. I want to be able to play any title on the hardware I have (assuming it's capable). Folks can't always afford more than one platform is one example of a problem with exclusives. By definition it means excluding people ...

Looks like a Ghost in the Shell - the game. ;)
But year 2077 is to far fetched. I would have put 2177 for a more realistic view of that particular universe.

Your comment is a bit far-fetched since you are basing it off our reality. It's based off a game set in 2020 where the dark ages probably never happened, stretching the setting out to 2177 would mean little to no advancements in technology in the 157 years between the two games.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_2020 it is based on this, things like those might never happen, so 2077 sounds as good as any year past 2020(or whenever it will be released).

My favorite setting is medieval so I absolutely loved Witcher. With that series I also came to love CDPR. So, while I don't tend to like or even try futuristic games, I will be buying this. I trust this will be good.

First game I preordered was NFS Shift 2 when I was about 12. I think this might just be the second.

I actually really really liked Shift 2, I just don't preorder now because I'm broke. That and the bait-and-switch tactics grew so much.

They say they're planning to show more of CP2077 at Gamescom 2018. Also, their e3 trailer ran on this

And it was real game footage, like the co-founder and joint CEO Marcin Iwiński said
The demo, it’s not a demo-demo in terms that it’s an artificial piece of content created for the purposes of the show. That’s actually a build of the game… actually, surprising it is a real build so we didn’t fake anything here and actually we had a lot of… we didn’t start these conversations but we had a lot of feedback like that in the previews by people actually noticing that certain things did not look pre-rendered or fake. And this makes us very happy and very proud because we’ve actually made it to pull off a build.
