CD Projekt Red: "The Witcher is One of Two Franchises On Which to Build the Future"
Well, that's it, then: we now have yet another CD Projekt Red game to look forward to. It was always expected that this would be the case: that The Witcher didn't end with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. It just couldn't; that game was much too close to a masterpiece, and too much of a commercial success, for that world not to be visited in other circumstances. In an interview with Bankier.pl, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński spoke about the possibility of a new Witcher game - outside the pretty clear-cut The Witcher trilogy arc we already know (and love).

"This does not mean, of course, that we will leave the world of The Witcher. The Witcher is one of two franchises on which to build the future activities of the company. Today, unfortunately, I can not reveal anything more."Those two franchises are - quite obviously - Cyberpunk and The Witcher, so it seems CD Projekt Red has found its calling and enough creative space within the two franchises to thrive. The Witcher has the open-world, medieval/fantasy RPG hold as one of the best such games ever created, and spawned a product that fills another space and revenue stream with Gwent. Cyberpunk, however, sates that technological, first person action hunger, opening up the cyberpunk (who would have guessed?) and science-fiction playgrounds. I'd say those are two of the best grounds to be in, really. As a slight tangents, never mind that Wiedźmin's (The Witcher) creator, Andrzej Sapkowski, sold the rights to CD Projekt Red for $9,500 and waived the right for royalties for that lump payment. He might not have believed, at all,in the series' success - but how great a thing that it was, with all of its 33 million game copies sold, that we have such a fantastic games development studio on whose worlds we can dive into.See you netrunning.

Reading through almost all the characteristics in the following links, it is as I said: the Witcher series is most definitely RPG.

It seems what you really don’t like is having a white haired character to play with instead of who you want (that’s ok though, personal preference). That doesn’t change it from RPG, since as you can read, many in the field force a character on you if it is important to the story....especially if the story is well-written.
In reality, action and combat take a backseat to the conversations, exploration, storytelling and character development.
Fighting is the worst part of the game, and it’s a good thing too, because it is not the game’s focus.
Just say you didn’t like it. I would applaud you and respect that much more than you trying to make a case that it isn’t an RPG.
I'm sorry but I will block/ignore you now because I don't approve your attitude.
Bravo!, btw for finally just admitting it’s not a game you like. I respect that.
However, you are fairly clueless on RPG’s. I suggest you stay away from all of them, because no RPG carries every single characteristic of the genre.
Like it's really bad even more with steam and if your interested in a game that steam sells go frigging watch some people playing it. It;'s that dam simple.
It is true many games borrow some of that customization but that is then marketed as having RPG elements. But in The Witcher, the vast majority of game time and focus is on conversation, diplomatic choices, on relationships between people and factions, etc etc. And as a player you can even choose to focus more on story than on combat in its difficulty options.
What you are referring to is an action adventure with RPG elements and TW3 is closer to a true RPG than that. The reason TW3 didnt answer to your needs is because YOU mistook the game and have your definitions mixed up. So you should take this as a learning experience rather than point fingers...
It's not just CDPR saying so. Literally every person in the industry says it is an RPG. It doesn't matter if you think so, you are one individual. This is NOT our opinion that it is an RPG. Read the definitions.
oh, btw, yeah, you can choose your spells. In fact you HAVE to make choices since you cannot have them all.
