Two teenagers assault 60-year-old teacher who confiscated one of their iPod's

It seems like sometimes you simply cannot get between a teenager and their iPod. Frank Burd, A 60 year old teacher in Germantown, Pennsylvania, confiscated one of his 14-year-old student's iPod's. The student, infuriated, came back with one of his 11th-grade friends, and proceeded to break Mr.Burd's neck in two places. Fortunately, Mr.Burd's condition is stable and improving. The two delinquents will be charged as adults in court.

Edit:
Some details have come to light that detail exactly why Mr. Burd took away the iPod. The ignorant freshman had decided to blast his music at maximum volume, for the sake of disrupting class. After several warnings, Mr.Burd took away the iPod with the intent to give it back to him after class. Upon the ending of class, Mr.Burd was assaulted by the freshman and his 11th-grade friend before he had the chance to give back the iPod. The rest of the story is as posted above...Mr.Burd's neck is broken in two places, the two delinquents will be charged as adults, and Mr.Burd's condition continues to improve.

Shutup! Thats not even funny. Listening to an iPod when you should be listening to someone else is really disrespectful. And breaking thier neck because they stood up for themselfs and tried to regain the respect they deserve is disgusting.

Typical COWARD teens of today imo... 2 of them, on 1 old guy like that?

I mean - What kind of punks are out there now, that they did this, 2 OF THEM no less, & ON AN OLD MAN LIKE THAT??

:(

* They had better hope he doesn't have any younger relatives... because I know what I'd do to them, ESPECIALLY if they get "let off the hook"...

The typical 2 to 5 on 1 I keep hearing about (& have had happen to me in fact from punks in the street out there today 2-3x now over the past few years, then trying to rob me, but the story was the reverse of this one, lol, & yes - I GOT LUCKY!)?

THAT is too much for older folks, especially 60 yrs. of age...

APK

P.S.=> LOL, when the guys in "the can" (and these 2 need time in the can) hear about WHY these 2 are in there, IF they get put in there, AND I HOPE THEY DO?

They're going to get "education from their peers" would be my guess, during their stay in the 'greybar motel'... apk

well it is a serious issue at my school, teacher theft of items that is. if they see headphones even in your pocket they will attempt to confiscate it. ive already fucked over one teacher for physically removing my cellphone that was clipped to the inside of my pocket. they dont mess with me anymore as ive filed at least 10 complaints to the school board.

as in all 6 ipods were confiscated and never returned to students last year, and they wonder why this crime (student vs teacher) has become more common. 2 cameras were also confiscated and 3 cell phones. this year my teacher (the one who i files complaints against and fucked over as far as raises go) broke my phone after confiscating it the second time. since then i will not hand over any item they as/reach for. they threaten but dont get anywhere.

doesnt bloody surprise me, had a run in with some kids tonight myself (even younger than those) kicking a football (deliberatly might i add) right at my window, i went outside and took it off them after warning them once, anyway im not a total meanie and went out 10 mins later and asked them if they wanted there ball back "yes" they said,

piss off away from my house then i have a small child in here and dont need the crap, anyway they'd obv told one of there dads? he comes over after i said this and gives it "OI!!" give them the ball back, i said are you one of there dads he said yea now give them there ball back, i said i was just doing that anyway wtf? i jhave a f***in newborn in here, are you not going to speak to your (devil) child??

this guy was worse than the kids i mean if that was my kid i would have said "fairplay mate i would have done the same thing and took the ball aswell" and give my kid a swift talking to, not this guy, made it look like he made me give the ball back when i was already going to and told the kids this,

he didnt tell the kids to pack it in or anything, think he thought he looked like a hard man and tbh he looked like a complete fool, if these are the people who are bringing up kids then its no wonder so many of them think that there untouchable these days with parents who set no kind of guidelines or morals out for there kids apart from talk to people like SHIT.

In England all they'd get would be an ASBO. Most kids here collect the damn things, what we need is stricter policies, and courts/governments that follow through! Do we have those? No.

Ain't that the truth. Why did he take it to begin with?? And how do you brake someone's neck and they still live? How do they still have use of their limbs??

Well Ipods are common in school no different the walkmen during my time. It's basically used for when you are on the bus or walking to school. You then keep it in your book bag or locker until the end of the day and you put them back on. I'm curious as to how this teacher knew the student had one to take to be honest. That kid was not the only one with a iPod, that's for sure. So why only his was taken? There is more to this story then what's being told. It's a shame we won't know more until the trial.

I´ve seen times where they confiscate things for to long,
if u take it u give it back at the end of the class.. or atleast give it to the pricipal to hold onto till the end of the day where he willl be held in detention.

Not sure how the teacher did it though, but theres a limit to this matter.. I would of gone about it a diff way even as the rebel kid I was, my parents would of called the cops if something like that wasent returned wasent returned, after they talked to them.

trying to find a clip I read in yesterdays paper about a 70 year old x-military guy who was vacationing in florida with a bunch of friends from some club when their minivan was aproched by 3 men, one of whom was known to the law as a guy who would go around robbing people in the Area with a 38 knives and 2 friends. The thief put a gun to the bus drivers head while the other 2 were asking for valubles... the elders fought back and eventually his 2 friends took off while the x-military guy snaped the thiefs neck which killed the known thief. and because itr was an act of self defence they will not be charged.

couldent find a link it happened in ft.lauderdale, florida.

now there's an idea!
a bit medieval-ish, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
