AMD to Bundle "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" with 3rd Gen Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 Processors

AMD is planning to bundle "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" will 3rd generation Ryzen desktop processors in a yet-unannounced game bundle likely to go live on July 7, according to a VideoCardz report. Localized to select markets and retailers, the bundle will see AMD giving away coupons for the latest chapter in the Assassin's Creed universe, with retail Ryzen 7 3700X, Ryzen 7 3800X, Ryzen 7 3800XT, Ryzen 9 3900X, Ryzen 9 3900XT, and Ryzen 9 3950X. Interestingly, there's no release date for the game itself, besides a vague "Holiday 2020" as announced by Ubisoft, so it's likely that redeeming the game bundle coupon will simply add ownership of the game to your UPlay account (similar to a pre-order), which you can download/pre-load and play when the game is released.

CrAsHnBuRnXpI just bought a 3700X 2 weeks ago. :'(
You would have gotten something in a way of a free game bundle though, right?

I bought my AMD RyZen 9 3950X late last year from Microcenter. They were really difficult to find in stock at the time especially anywhere near the MSRP of ~$750 USD. The receipt came with redemption codes for two games and a couple of free months of Xbox Game Pass.

The free games were:

The Outer Words

and

Borderlansd 3

The only way you don't get the free games is if you don't buy from a supporting vendor

Does this replace the offer of Horizon Zero Dawn we heard about last week?

That is unfortunate,...

Remedy is to not buy from Amazon then at least not for this type of item. This is basically akin to over paying or being shortchanged,.....

"AMD has confirmed it's bundling free PC copies of Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition with select Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Customers looking to purchase the Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 5 3600X, Ryzen 7 370X, Ryzen 7 3800X, Ryzen 9 3900X, and Ryzen 9 3950X processors will be eligible for the promotion. Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition codes will likely be in the form of Steam keys and will include all DLC content from PlayStation 4. The promotion is now live at Chillblast and Overclockers UK with more information from other retailers likely to surface soon."

The Horizon bundle started on June 11th. Maybe what you think of was the Borderlands 3 + Outer Worlds one.

So they aren't bundling a game in with your GPU purchase, they are just including a code that gives you the right to play a game online for free.
This offer holds no value to non gamers and there should be an option to take the equivalent of the games value, off the purchase price of the GPU.

Yeah I redeemed the bundled offer a while ago. Its a nice freebie but the redemption process is rather involved.

From the AMD Rewards game redemption portal you have to download an AMD verification tool and install it. The tool had bugs in my case which made things difficult. Anyway, you enter the code and you eventually get it
