CD Projekt Red Unveils Exclusive RTX 3080 Cyberpunk 2077 Card

CD Projekt Red is expected to release Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10th after numerous delays. To commemorate the launch CD Projekt Red are giving away a single limited edition GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card on the Chinese social media platform Bilibili. You may remember the special edition RTX 2080 Ti which NVIDIA launched earlier this year, while that model received an official launch this RTX 3080 appears to be a single custom modified card. Cyberpunk 2077 will only support hardware-accelerated raytracing on NVIDIA hardware at launch making the RTX 3080 a great card for the job. The contest is still open but only available to those with a Weibo account.

This is just like those heavily themed PC builds (like dedicated to a specific game, or movie, or comic book)... They may be "neat" looking, but I'd never want them in my home (or this card in my PC)

Well, it's a free real estate card, and it even comes with a ruler!

The cyberpunk themed mobile phone is one of the best limited edition game related product released.
It's quite unique in terms of design, but its limited to china only. I believe its One Plus model or some sort.

The 2080Ti, looks better IMO. Too little neon yellow on the RTX3080. I've always liked merchandise based hardware. Adds to the sense of belonging for those who can afford it.

Too bad RT stuff in CP2077 is underwhelming, to put it softly.

Not to worry. There would have to actually be a product show up available for people to comment that it is too yellow or doesn’t have enough.

This game is going to shine on Turing and Ampere, no doubt about that

Don't worry AMD will get Ray Tracing in Cyberpunk around 2H 2021, sadly performance hit will be too huge to use it anyway because 6800XT can't even match 3070 in ray tracing, atleast 3070 has option for DLSS to deliver 60 fps at 1440p maxed, AMD users can only dream

Maybe 6900XT can do ray tracing at 1080p without dipping below 60 fps

Hummm, maybe I missed something here, but I thought the original concept design behind "Project Red"
was that all the products would be, like, RED.... at least in most of the parts/trim etc....

I seem to recall the early P.R. iPod, it had a shell & front that was ALL red, and several other items after that which followed the same idea....

The pics above seem to be of a "project GOLD (or yellowish-orange)" card, most of which is on the backplate...

Reading comprehension problem is common in fanboi :D , but no worries, I can repeat it.
RT looks underwhelming.

Game itself looks good.

See, it ain't hard.

RT in CP2077 either does next to nothing or even weirdly makes things look worse: (that pink room)

You do realize CD Projekt Red is a game developer, and is in no way associated with (RED), the non-profit organization that partners with the likes of Apple to promote the funding of research against AIDS? There have been several Apple products that have partnered with (RED), and have been colored red, but that has nothing to do with CDPR.

This is yellow because that's the main color that Cyberpunk 2077 (CDPR's upcoming and biggest game ever) is marketed with.

Yeah, 2080 Ti looked better, this looks like they just slapped on some stickers and called it a day. Luckily this is limited to 1 unit only, so it's not like we should care.

More important is whether they'll bundle the game with 30-series. That way theoretically I could finally buy a gpu and have a spare copy of the game that I could sell off.

People that can't use Ray Tracing, will always hate on it ;)

Cyberpunk is made for Ray Tracing. Just wait for the ON vs OFF sliders and people might realise (while thinking they won't be missing out much..)

RT is still just a marketing gimmick. Implementation is so primitive it doesn't add anything significant to the games visuals. True, AMD should be able to catch up, no excuse, but it's difficult when nVidia is throwing money at game developers.
We are still long way from proper Ray Tracing in games.

Nice touch not sharing "impressive videos"... :D

Does one need nvidia card with RT to watch them?

Guess which of the two has "RT on"?

Which uber RT GPU was this frame rendered with:

Haha no it's not, I have already been enjoying proper RT in multiple games.

AMD beats NV in 2 games that support DXR 1.1 that are on the market: Watch Dogs: Legion and Dirt 5.
Even in green sponsored Control, it's on par with 2080Ti.

Agree on it being a gimmick with no significant impact.

Especially after EPIC has demoed Lumen with zero RT-ing (even though PS5 supports RT):

Go watch an animated movie, way better Ray Tracing there
