3DRealms president confesses Duke Nukem Forever is an industry joke

Scott Miller, the founder of Apogee, and a co-owner of 3Drealms, has some interesting words to say about Duke Nukem Forever. For everyone that has been waiting extremely patiently for Duke Nukem Forever, it is my extreme displeasure to inform you that they effectively declared that the past 10 years of development have been wasted. The actual quote from Mr.Miller himself:
Our fault is that we set the bar too high, and we tried too hard to make the game to beat all games. In the last 18 months we've taken a much more realistic look at the project, we've hired a truckload of experienced help, and I personally believe we are now on the right track…finally.
In short, Mr.Miller admits that 3DRealms was working too hard on Duke Nukem Forever, and is now setting much more realistic goals for the Duke Nukem Forever project. Maybe we'll start seeing beta's/products for Duke Nukem Forever this year. Or maybe we won't...time will tell.

Before I read the article, I thought the title meant that DNF was a hoax, and I about killed myself.

I mean I suppose this shouldnt come as a surprise really(but then hey look, we got S.T.A.L.K.E.R and it was almost in the same situation)I mean if companies like EA can pump out the same recycled/reskinned crap and even small companies too, then I suppose 3Drealms should be a laughing stock of the industry. It not like us gamers aren't sadly getting used to buying basically retail Beta's and wait for patches to fix em(I wont even start on that but you can get my point)

Where does the article even mention DNF being an "industry joke"?

Pretty misleading title, as I also thought the game might not be coming out.

Anyone else noticed that the initials of Duke Nukem Forever, DNF, are the same as in racing. As in Did Not Finish....

Well anyone actually keeping up with the project knows they have change the engine for the game at least once, forcing them to basically start from scratch.

I actually applaud 3DRealms for sticking with it so long and trying their hardest to make it the game they wanted. The problem is that they simply wanted way to much. Saddly it most likely won't be the game to end all games like they wanted, but I doubt it will be the same retooled crap we see companies like EA putting out on the shelves. It won't be another WWII shooter, so just in that area they already have a winner on their hands in my book.
