NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti Tested in Ashes of the Singularity

The upcoming NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti has already been tested in the old, tried and true Ashes of the Singularity benchmark - the first game to ever support DirectX 12. Considering the proximity of this Ashes of the SIngularity bench run with the projected announcement date for the RTX 3080 Ti itself, on June 4th, it may mean that this is a reviewers' sample that's been tested.
Unfortunately, the card so far only appears in one system - sporting an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU. So its benchmark results really aren't comparable with the ones we already have for other NVIDIA cards - the subsystem means a lot in this particular benchmark. However, we do gather that the card was tested in the Crazy preset at 4K, 1440p, and 1080p, scoring 9300, 9100, and 8700 points respectively. You'll have to make your own conclusions on this score.

I don't know whether I should try for a 3080 Ti card now, or hope that my fan-pulsing 2080 Ti doesn't die between now and the next 4070 / 4080 cards later. Seems like the fans on my 2080Ti no longer scale up and down, they just alternate between minimum and maximum.

Why is it that whenever the performance of an upcoming CPU or GPU leaks, it's always measured in AotS?

W1zzard was able to find rx 6900 xtx, so any other GPU would be piece of cake to get.

AotS made the biggest stink about Async Compute when DX12 was being pushed. Hot debate between Maxwell and Pascal back then.

At the rumoured ridiculous price of $1199 for stock cards and starting at $1299 for AIB cards not worth it it all. 2 extra GB and some more cores unlocked for another $500-600+ is pathetic.

The regular 3080 costs more now when bought from a retailer, I guess those prices are the new norm.

lynx29my $579 rx 6800 beats a rtx 3090 in some games (not many true). and i think that number of games will increase with more console ports. makes me giggle.
Are you serious? Which games? I assume you play at 1080p cause that is the only plausible scenario where 6800 beats 3090.

and it beats it by 20 fps at 1080p, only 4 fps at 1440p though.

I never much cared for Guru3d's review emphasis on average framerate. I'm more interested in 1% lows or frametime variance.

Well valhalla is definitely one of them but you said games so I'm curious which those are. 3090 is better than a 6800 no matter how you slice it. If there is a game or two were 6800 wins that's an exception. Especially considering the NV driver overhead.
