MSI Welcomes the World's First ATX 3.0 Compliant PSU

MSI is welcoming two new ATX 3.0 compliant power supply units: the MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 and MPG A1000G PCIE5. Both power supply unit series put heavy emphasis on being ready for all high-performing future graphics cards and components while providing utilitarian features to the user. The MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 is 80 PLUS Platinum Certified while the MPG A1000G PCIE5 is 80 PLUS Gold Certified.

Both the MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 and MPG A1000G PCIE5 have a port that is compliant with PCIe 5.0 and Intel PSDG ATX 3.0. The native 16 PIN PCIe connector makes the power supplies ready for all high-performing future graphics cards. The connector can freely pipe up to 600 W of power to PCIe 5.0 graphics cards. The power supplies can also hold up to 2x total power excursion and 3x GPU power excursion, fully ready for all future high performing components.
Gaming Intelligence for Improved User Experience
The MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 stands out among all other power supply units. There is an smart chip in this power supply. Through this MCU, it can be controlled through software to provide the best user experience. With Gaming Intelligence, a series of MSI exclusive software integrated functions designed to help users control and better understand their computer system. Through the MSI Center, this power supply help monitors the real-time status of the percentage of power supplied to GPU and CPU and the total system wattage used. The fan can switch between Performance or Silent Mode depending on the loading and temperature. Lastly, it can switch between single and multi-rail according to the needs of users while taking into account high current output and safety protection.

Silent Operation Is a Given
The MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 and MPG A1000G PCIE5 are capable of quietly operating at all times without disturbing the surroundings. The MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 features MSI's exclusive MEG Silent Gale P12 fan, through the MSI Center, Intelligent Fan Mode which automatically detects the power loading and internal temperature to adjust the fan speed. Similarly, the MPG A1000G PCIE5's fan 0 RPM Mode can stop the fan's operation when TDP is below 40% to help with energy saving and provide silence (the 0% RMP Mode is on by default, please press the button if you wish to turn it off).

Safety & Reliability Provided By Us
The power supply unit is almost like the heart of your system, so having it operating without trouble is extremely important. Both power supply unit series can provide your system with a worry-free operation under all loadings. 100% Japanese 105° C capacitors and solid capacitors are used to provide unwavering product quality and performance stability. They also come with standard protection mechanisms including OCP/OTP/OVP/OPP/UVP/SCP. The MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 even has heatsinks designed to cover as many capacitors as possible to help dissipate internal heat. Lastly, they are both proudly backed by a 10-year limited warranty to give you the ultimate peace of mind (warranty may vary by country).

Made for Convenient System Building
Both power supply units are designed with the installation process in mind. Both the MEG Ai1300P PCIE and the MPG A1000G PCIE5 are smaller than typical PSUs on the market within their tier, making them an excellent fit for most PC cases. Their fully modular design means that only the connectors required by the build need to be used. This can significantly reduce cable clutter and simplify the system's overall build.

In time.

There are no PCIe 5.0 graphics cards on the market yet so there is nothing for reviewers to test with concerning these newer features.

And even if one of these ATX 3.0 compliant PSUs and a next-gen graphics card landed on the doorstep of a hardware reviewer tomorrow, it might take some time for them to develop a testing protocol for the new hardware. Would they also need newer testing equipment? That also remains to be seen.

I suspect the whole process won't just happen with the snap of some fingers.

There is 3090ti with 12+4 pin connector. PCIE5 for ATX3 power supplies means this connector, not that the card will be on PCIe slot 5 ;)

Ah, I forgot about the 3090 Ti.

However I'm not sure if true PCIe 5.0 compliance also requires a PCIe 5.0 connection to the motherboard as well. If you plug the 3090 Ti into a PCIe 5.0 motherboard, does it show up connected at PCIe 5.0? I was under the impression that the physical interface of the 3090 Ti is still PCIe 4.0 x16.

So even if its power connector is the same form factor as the new standard, that doesn't necessarily mean the card supports all of its features. My understanding is that this new power interface is backwards compatible. It won't make a PCIe 4.0 card into 5.0 though.

Seasonic announced 4 new ATX 3.0 PSU's a week or two ago. Two are "gold" rated, two are "platinum" rated.
It's possible that these MSI PSU's are simply the same re-branded Seasonic PSU's.

Fantastic, Just in time for the new cards. Judging by the MSI X670 mobo prices I should be able to snag one of these for around £500. What a steal!!!
