Stargate: Timekeepers Episode One Released

A free Episode One of Season One of Stargate: Timekeepers deployed today on Steam. Pre-orders for the stealth, real-time tactics, commandos-style game created by Slitherine in official collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios are also now available.

Stargate: Timekeepers propels players into the heart of the Stargate SG-1 universe, where they will lead a team of specialists through a riveting campaign filled with story and adventure. Episode One plunges players into the heart-pounding chaos of the Battle of Antarctica, with valiant Eva McCain being teamed up to navigate treacherous challenges in an attempt to stop the deadly Kull warriors.
A Real-Time Tactical Odyssey
In a celebration of the Episode One release, Slitherine invited Martin Wood, director and producer of Stargate SG-1, Michael Shanks, Stargate SG-1 actor, Darren Sumner, owner and managing editor of GateWorlds.net, and Robert Brown, Stargate: Timekeepers writer, for a Twitch live show yesterday. Fans and newcomers alike could delve deep into the wondrous world of Stargate.

Stargate: Timekeepers, while rooted in the iconic universe, boldly charts a new course beyond the conclusion of the seventh season of Stargate SG-1. Fans can expect an entirely fresh and captivating story arc, filled with the thrilling adventures and enigmatic discoveries that have come to define the Stargate legacy. Stargate: Timekeepers features an original and richly detailed story-driven campaign spanning 14 episodes, in which players need to use a combination of stealth, skills, and combat prowess to achieve success.

Characters take center stage in Stargate: Timekeepers, each featuring a unique skill set to be used to overcome obstacles, foes, and in-game puzzles. Each episode in the real-time tactics game needs careful planning and expert use of skills, with the player likely requiring more stealth than guns blazing.
Stargate: Timekeepers will be divided into two parts, season one part one and season one part two, with each segment containing seven episodes. Each individual episode is a full single-player mission. Players who purchase Stargate: Timekeepers will get full access to all the episodes in this first season as they become available.

Stargate: Timekeepers will be available December 12, 2023.

To be fair it's right in line with the show which was also poorly reviewed, but I'll give it a shot cuz the show was great for me.

Despite the lack of critical acclaim, it was a successful show. It lasted ten seasons though it probably should have ended after the eighth.

That's the idea, first ep is. Then don't be surprised they start hitting people up $20 for each ep.

Is that even applicable? All reviews seen on metacritic are based on the pilot episode, which actually feels different than the rest of the show. Can that even be considered as a review of the entire series?

Anyway, critic reviews and user reviews often seem to be completely different, and I usually tend to agree with the latter. I've always found the job of a critic very stupid. It's almost completely subjective, and unless I know I have similar taste to a specific reviewer, I don't pay attention to them at all.

"Pedestrian writing, pulp-mag plotting, shopworn characters, hackneyed dialogue ('with all due respect' pops up at least three times in the first hour) and Mario Azzopardi’s broad direction will all undoubtedly delight billions and billions."
I can't even imagine that people get paid to write worthless crap like that.

Looks like a cheap game a small indy studio would produce. They used characters like the original sg1 team but with different names like if they didn't have the rights to them.

Definitively not the result you would expect from a billion dollars franchise.

That's some real BS you conflate there, implying Stargate is worth billions. Amazon is paying that sum for the purchase of MGM's IP and debt.
