Nevermind, if they remove what makes GTA funny then what's the point of playing it? Stereotypes of Italians in Vice City, making fun of blacks in San Andreas, shitting on Slavs in GTA IV... it was already in huge decline in GTA V which made it significantly 'family friendly', if they wash it down completely then what can I laugh at anymore? Even gameplay is in decline, they reached peak in San Andreas in overall gameplay and in GTA IV in driving, GTA V was just worse in every aspect, so I doubt VI will fix it.

I was thinking the same thing. Having played GTA2, kind of new game concept on old-skool arcade machine style graphics and geometry, it was pretty amazing when GTA3 was launched. My machine CRAWLED getting that going. And it was a crazy game introducing the new PC game genre, games-that-let-you-do-stuff-that-you-shouldnt. MAFIA launched soon after. Game changer in terms of game style and power of PC and GPU needed.

But looking at the cutscenes in this GTA6 trailer: I'm not wowed anymore by the graphics but immediately notice the social decline of the last 20 years. We now not only play within a virtual degenerate society, we actually live in one!

I did love the radio on GTA3 and when I hear similar tunes it takes me back... There was a lot of work that went into those radio channels. I wonder at what point in the game development they came up with that idea, and how much time and resource they invested in getting all those sounds recorded. They were really on-point. Respect.





I havent played GTA4 or 5. Are they worth looking at in 2024? Or have they had their time and there are better "nostalgic" games to play.

Social decline... this isn't the fault of GTA.

GTA has always been pretty good at inviting you to reflect on what you're seeing. The parody styled humour is part of that. It ridicules everything, and it now ridicules current day society. Pretty good reality check if you ask me. In the meantime... you might wonder what's really changed between 'Vice City' and 'VI', and that's telling in its own right.

Had to watch the trailer a few times, there are just so much details to miss. :eek: But let's wait & see if that's actually "the real deal" or some rendered photo mode porn.
