Lamptron ST060 Dual-Tower Air Cooler Sports Full HD 6-inch Screen

CaseKing.de has started to sell a gigantic Lamptron ST060 dual-tower CPU air cooler for €299.90 (~$325) with VAT added. Many PC hardware news sites have predicted that this sizable—153 × 152 × 120 mm (W x H x D)—cooling solution is worthy of taking on similarly proportioned competition. CaseKing's listing includes some hype material: "(the ST060) offers extremely high cooling performance thanks to its six heat pipes and two PWM RGB fans. With a 260 W TDP, the cooler is also very quiet and has immense cooling reserves for overclocked CPUs and, despite its size, can be installed even with the mainboard installed." The integrated 6-inch 1920x1080 screen is the ST060's other selling point—DeepCool's (recently TPU reviewed) AK620 dual-tower cooler sports a large-ish top-mounted mini monitor, although its functionality is quite limited. Lamptron states that their new model is prepped for full AIDA64 integration; a license for this software suite is bundled in.

The integrated screen requires connection to USB Type-A and HDMI ports—perhaps a major annoyance—fortunately mini USB to USB and HDMI cables are included in the box. Additionally, software and digital instructions are uploaded onto a bundled USB-A flash drive. The base Lamptron ST060 model is joined by ARGB equipped alternatives—CaseKing has a product page for a black fan version (LAMP-ST060AB, also priced at €299.90), but it is not available to purchase yet. Tom's Hardware believes that a white fan model (LAMP-ST060AW) is also incoming—they documented some basic aesthetic differences: "In addition to the fans being different, the ARGB versions have a silver heatsink as opposed to the black heatsink on the regular version." Lamptron's ST060 air cooler appears to be an Intel socket-centric product, with support for LGA1366, LGA1200, LGA115x, LGA1700, and LGA2011. Team Red enthusiasts will be disappointed about compatibility being limited to AM4. Overclocking.com expressed surprise regarding Lamptron's re-emergence with new products—many assumed that the company was in a dormant state for a long time.

Lamptron? The same company that made the plethora of 5.25 fan controllers back in the day... giggles uncontrollably. That just cracks me up for some reason.

$3 bills for that? Sorry can't see it.

Yeah, this definitely seems like something that is totally worth 6 times as much as a decent Thermalright cooler. Or even 3 times more than the Noctua flagship. Totally.

Meanwhile, a 40$ Phantom Spirit will do the job just fine (maybe even better)

If you want something to look at on top of your CPU cooler just get the AK620 Digital or something, this is just stupid.
And 300$ is insultingly expensive, is anyone unironically interested in a cooler with an LCD bolted on top of it for 300$?

Sadly someone will buy it and take pictures of it to post on Reddit or something.

I actually like it.

The price is ridiculous, obviously, but if they want to sell it they should do so with and without the LCD. If they are price competitive on the twin tower cooler performance with respect to rival products (including fan noise levels) then great.

There is a company that sells AIO H20 coolers with LCD screens and some older models without it are upgradable for a nominal (outrageous) fee. I'm fine with it and wouldn't mind having one. I just wont pay the current going price.

I'm pretty sure they're subsisting off rebranded Aliexpress components nowadays. They never did finish releasing their server fan controller that could control Deltas, Nidecs, or San Aces that they teased in their twilight.

And when they returned into the spotlight, one of the first things announced was a Lamptron branded backlit motherboard accessory that was 5-10 dollars more than the generic Aliexpress version, followed by a Lamptron branded version of the generic LCD monitors that have been selling on Aliexpress for some years by that point.

This new cooler looks like an ALSEYE cooler base with an LCD slapped on top.

Of course there are some really good coolers on the market that are heavily focused on performance, but none of them have a big display lol.. I am not saying I would buy it, 300 usd is outside of my range.. but it’s still pretty cool.

can just rig mount a 6" screen to my peerless assassin for like 40$. Both under $100
No way to pay $325+ on this

Seems to be more for those DIY builders that want to add more bling to their system and don't mind throwing away a lot of money. Like some of the heavy Noctua CPU coolers, shipping a system around with that thing mounted on the motherboard is just asking for it to arrive DOA. iirc, Digital Storm had issues years ago with some of the Noctua coolers busting the motherboard and/or damaging the CPU during the shipping process.

Jeez. What a monstrocity. If I'd be up for a chunky aircooling with kinda price and size, I would rather buy some TrueCopper instead. Just glue this screen thingy to the tempered glass and call it a day.
