MSI Intros GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming Duke Graphics Card as a China-exclusive

MSI brought back its Gaming Duke line of graphics cards with a GeForce RTX 4060 model meant for the Chinese market. The Duke line of graphics cards have historically held the bottom-end of the company's custom-design product stack, and the same appears to be the case with the new card. The RTX 4060 Gaming Duke looks long and premium, thanks to its 2-slot, triple-fan cooling solution that uses a slender aluminium fin-stack heatsink. MSI has given this cooler its webbed TorX fans that guide all their airflow axially. There are some decent aesthetic touches such as a carbon fiber-print cooler shroud, and a metal backplate. There is no RGB lighting on offer, except a white illuminated MSI logo on the top. The card sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 2460 MHz boost, and 17 Gbps (GDDR6-effective) memory.

,,The Duke line of graphics cards have historically held the bottom-end of the company's custom-design product stack, and the same appears to be the case with the new card"

I laughed hard here when expecting reading something nice or about leading brand in GPU industry :D As nice alternative to use in the future, I recommend phrase "bottom of the barrel" :D

This looks like a very reasonable cooler for a 115 W GPU tho.

I had this: www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-phoenix-gtx-1060.b5307
That is bottom of the barrel, it was the loudest thing I can imagine

Didn't even think about it from this perspective. BTW it looks even overkill for such load, typical two-fan designs tend to be cool and quiet, but I'm judging by the looks on three photos and for ones interested it's worth checking how much of a heatsink is inside, how many heatpipes (or if there're any) and how with cooling of PCB elements where manufacturers like to cut corners. Metal backplate make me optimistic, though and suggest it coming maybe even from some decent barrel :D

I was about finding this "historically held the bottom-end" funny said, kinda balancing on the border of being informative and offensive ;)

Is it offensive if it just a fact? I mean, what could be below a Duke in MSI's lineup? The Aero?

I find it funny that they use such an un-chinese term (Duke) for a product that is exclusive to China....

Maybe if people over there had a thing for John Wayne or Royal monarchies, I might understand, but I kinda doubt that is the case, given how tightly the media is controlled & how the thought police are always looking to punish/eliminate dissension in any way, shape or form :D

First thing I thought of was John Wayne when reading this...

Saying facts may be percieved as offensive and it depends on context ;)
