This Week in Gaming (Week 21)

This week's major release is a female Viking warrior sequel, for those in the mood for some sword and axe battles. If that's not your cup of tea, then maybe a cosy space explorer or a futuristic graffiti artist is more your thing? Or what about a city manager on a foreign planet? Maybe you prefer knights over vikings? If so, we got you covered as well. Or maybe you just want to be a vagabond in space?

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II / This week's major release / Tuesday 21 May
The sequel to the award winning Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Senua returns in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without. Steam link
Little-Known Galaxy / Monday 20 May
Join Space Alliance as a new captain-in-training and work with your crew to solve the mysteries of an ancient relic found on the Grey Planet. Little-Known Galaxy is a cozy single-player RPG space adventure full of friendly characters, exploration, crafting, and farming. Steam link
RKGK / Rakugaki / Tuesday 21 May
Turn heads. Drop jaws. Be bright. In this single-player 3D platformer, you're the only one who can take down Mr. Buff and his lackies to restore color and life to the citizens of Cap City. Accompany Valah and the RKGK crew on their journey to take down the oppressive B Corp. Steam link
Synergy / Wednesday 22 May
Your citizens are immersed in a strange environment, both mesmerizing and unforgiving. Your goal is to build a city to help them survive, then prosper. You will need to explore, analyze and experiment with new things. In Synergy, the well-being of your citizens is paramount. You will need a deep understanding of their environment to help them adapt and thrive. Steam link
Crown Wars: The Black Prince / Thursday 23 May
The War of Crowns rages on. Knights and brigands run rampant throughout the land, sowing destruction. From your castle base, rise to become the lord who leads the battle against the forces of evil in this turn-based tactics and strategy game. Steam link
Starstruck Vagabond / Friday 24 May
After accidentally freezing themselves for two millennia, the protagonist awakens in an unknown galaxy with nothing to their name but a beat up old transport ship, with which they must make a living delivering crates across star systems. As they explore more of the galaxy and pick up a few rag tag misfits for their crew, they become embroiled in a brewing intrigue. Steam link

Oh I didn't realise it was on Game Pass! Hmm, maybe I'll have to finally play the first one. I wonder if jumping straight to the second would be ok...

Can't say, I guess it depends on how they gonna follow up the story in the second game or if theres any explaining at the start of the second game.
Tbh it worths to play the first + its not exactly a long game either, I've finished it 2 times and for me its like an 'acquired taste' kind of game but a good one at that.

The first game had an RT update some time ago and it holds up pretty well imo. 'I'm a bit concerned about the possible performance of the second game cause yeh UE 5 but I guess I will just tweak my settings and use DLSS as usual/its not a game that requires high fps anyway'

I've only heard good things tbh, but it's just another game I don't have time to play these days. I miss the child free life! On the plus side, I'll have a whopper of a top quality backlog by the time I retire :D

Odd there has been so little marketing push behind HB2 at one time it was a marquee game for Microsoft. I wonder what happened. Still looking forward to it's release.

Yeah, not even a new video since 2023 and no new screenshots. Not sure what's going on.

They did some sort media day for it like a month ago and impressions were positive but I feel like they have no confidence in it.
