I know some people will never understand this but Nintendo is about the software: content is king. Videogames aren't ranked by the number of polygons or how many gigabytes of texture maps there are. Remember that wimpy ol' Switch shipped 150+ million units.
Based on the first look video, it appears that Nintendo is going to ship a new Mario Kart title when the hardware launches. My guess is that it will be an instant GOTY nominee even if it's not running at 180fps on a 4K monitor. If they launch another Animal Crossing, that too might be a candidate for GOTY.
Anyhow, I probably will wait until Nintendo updates the Switch 2 with an OLED screen (despite the fact I play in docked mode 90% of the time) in a few years. That also gives time to allow the Switch 2 game library to grow.
With Switch's well established success, it will be interesting to see how game publishers decide whether or not to include the Switch 2 platform in their distribution plans in the upcoming five years.
this console will probably launch may 22
