Ceramic PS3 Coming to the US
It now looks almost certain that Sony is planning to release the Ceramic White PS3 in the US sometime soon following a recent filing with the FCC. The model number differs to that of the console being sold in the Asian market, so it looks like it will be a slightly different version, and the controller number suggests a standard SIXAXIS controller rather than the DualShock 3 being sold with the Ceramic model in Asia. No official pricing or launch dates have been revealed, although an announcement is expected on 28th January which could potentially lead to the console going on sale as early as next month.

If thats so, MS did it first and Sony retaliated. Even though I think you're just thinking about it too hard. No one is going to think the PS3 is an Xbox or a Wii when it is placed in a separate isle and says PLAYSTATION 3 on the front (unless maybe you're retarded). :toast:
EDIT: Sony's going to be very hard to compete with in 2008 with the increasing Blu-ray sales and the increased PS3 sales. The production price of the PS3 has lowered, and news is saying the 40gb PS3 will soon be 299$:

Before anyone says "The european PS3 can play PS2 games" it cant, not properly. it relies on firmware to make PS2 games "compatible", and some nothing short of awsome PS2 games still wont work on PS3, such as MGS.
You also have to understand that the PS3 has many more features than the Xbox, its a premium product fanboyism aside. The mistake I made was realizing this after I bought an xbox 360 (not starting anything here, but the PS3 has better games in my opinion *games that suit my play style*)
First people complained about 599$, now you're complaining about 50$. I mean come on, I'm not trying to be an ass but it's almost like you want something for nothing. :ohwell:
I'm a broke college student and really don't have all that much money. I set out for a goal of getting 600$ into my budget a long time ago, and I finally got there and they dropped the price. I couldn't have been more happy now I hear people all the time complaining that it's still to much...
The ps3 80gb cost $500 bucks, and the equivalent 360, the elite, cost $350 bucks.
Now the 360 does not have built in wireless ($100) nor high Def player ($180).
So the equivalent 360 will cost $630, and that is not including a XBL gold subscription.
