You Know with all these Mobo Makers Makin Top end boards, i think they should release their own drivers instead of relying on the Chipset Makers, that will get the best out of the Chipset on their boards.

Coding your own drivers isn't easy/cheap, plus you're responsible for any glitches it has. With unified drivers (chipset manufacturer turning driver provider), you avoid that.
but intel doesnt cover the boards RMA the Manufacturer of the board does, so i think they should dev drivers on their own, like how it was for so many years.
People don't/can't RMA boards due to faulty chipset drivers. If say the SB600 driver is faulty on my board, it will be faulty on all the boards. The onus would be on AMD to fix it, not my mobo manufacturer. Their software job goes as far as the system BIOS and a few bits of fancy tools. Like I said, it's neither easy nor cheap to code drivers for things as high-level as chipsets, and then to support it on their end, and so they leave it to the component manufacturers.
i will say this, how about Intel Releasing the Drivers and then the board makers create their own to get the best possible experience out of their Motherboards, Ala Forceware and Unified Remix.
Those 'remix' drivers you see around aren't pieces of software that were built from scratch, they use company drivers as templates to build upon, and improvise it (hence the name). Remix drivers are neither covered by warranties nor are they supported (beyond community-based forum support), hence they can't be pushed through larger channels (as backing each bit of software with the products' general warranties, and maintaining software patches/updates would be expensive for the company). Ofcourse for outfits such as Alienware, their premium pricing more than covers it :)

Its been tried and hasnt worked to well. Most alternative chipsets have failed. As for drivers, i dont think any company has the resources to improve on what Intel has done. Also it wouldnt make financial sense, they still have to pay Intel for the chipsets and they get drivers too of course so why spend millions on developing something that has already been done.

Whats so bad about Intel's drivers anyway? Its not like they have an inexperienced/diminutive workforce

Think u mean intel board because X chipsets are intel based, and by the looks of it the boards are very close, but the evga has a BIG SLI on the box lol

Oh yea my bad :o It doesn't look like Intel's board anyway, it has the ram above the CPU socket.
lol it looks like both ripped off the NV boards from this year, the color and the lcd, but this board dont look as nice as the evga, this one looks cheap you know what i mean.
omg, i didnt even see this until now. Not only XFX is going to make ATI cards but an X58 mobo as well. It seems that they managed to take a crap on nvidia for the second time this week :laugh:
but that aside, i really prefer evga for mobos out of those 2, they seem to have much better customer support than XFX does.
Exactly what It is. If the system couldn't boot up with the 1st bios, because of overclocking or any other reason, it will boot from the backup bios. Which will help you reduce the time you need to Clear CMOS.

i think its actually a dual virtual BIOS, thats how it works on some high-end Gigabyte boards. i think its actually 1 BIOS divided in 2 and can be used for puposes kid talked about.
