Macworld 2009: Apple's 17-inch Unibody MacBook Pro Officially Unveiled
Not long after the start of Macworld 2009, Apple officially unveiled the new MacBook Pro, that was confirmed by AppleInsider on Monday. During the demonstration Apple uncovered that the 17-inch display of the unibody MacBook Pro will feature LED backlight, 1920x1200 fullHD resolution, 700:1 contrast ratio and will come with gloss or mate surface (the mate option will cost additional $50). The remaining specs pretty much match the specs of the older 15-inch MacBook Pro model. Apple also said that the addition of non-removable battery will lead to bigger battery installed and longer battery life, which is now claimed to be up to 8 hours.

Nice to see the new 17" finally
And it starts at nearly $3,000...
Add a few upgrades and it's getting really expensive...
I say give it 6 months before there is a third party replacement battery for the new MacBook Pro. Remember when the iPod had a "non replaceable battery"? Now there are a million replacements for all different generations and models. There is also a Matte screen option available for an extra $50.
Every time I see a Apple related headline here I count on half the comments to be from haters.
edit: NVM can't find it. Maybe I'm getting confused w/ the term upgrade kit. Thought I read awhile ago about first gen mac pro's not being able to use it w/out an adapter of some sort
I use the term proprietary loosely. I hate knowing that I have to buy a mac to use Logic pro
It's alot simpler with Windows/PC :nutkick:.
I'm not a Mac hater, but I'm sure you are a Mac lover.
