ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Matrix R9 280X Graphics Cards

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the launch of Matrix R9 280X Platinum edition and Matrix R9 280X standard edition, two new graphics cards powered by the latest AMD Radeon R9 280X graphics-processing unit (GPU). ASUS Announces R9 280X, R9 270X, R7 260X DirectCU II Graphics Cards

ASUS today announced the launch of its R9 200 and R7 200 Series DirectCU II graphics cards, powered by the latest AMD Radeon R9 and R7 series graphics-processing units (GPUs). The new R9 280X, R9 270X and R7 260X graphics cards are brimming with exclusive ASUS technologies and tools including DirectCU II cooling technology for cooler and quieter gaming performance, DIGI+ voltage-regulator modules (VRMs) for smooth and stable power supply and GPU Tweak, an easy-to-use software for tuning the graphics card. The R9 280X, R9 270X and R7 260X are all ASUS TOP-rated graphics cards, meaning they are overclocked to perform faster than reference - respectively turning in core speeds of 1070MHz, 1120MHz and 1188MHz.

ASUS is working on an ROG MATRIX graphics card based on AMD's "new" Radeon R9 280X chip. Pictured below, the card features a meaty triple-slot cooling solution, and the same PCB as the one ASUS' HD 7970 MATRIX is based on, featuring a gargantuan 20-phase VRM, with TweakIT and ProbeIT mojo, fan panic switch, and dual BIOS. The card is expected to feature factory-overclocked speeds of 1100 MHz core, and 6.00 GHz memory. Given that these are pictures of a retail card, with its packaging, one can expect ASUS to launch the card along with its other SKUs, when the R9 280X is generally available.

Bitspower Maximus VI Impact Full Cover Water Block in the Works

After releasing the ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe full cover block in August, Bitspower is currently working on a second full cover motherboard block, this time around designed for ASUS' latest mITX marvel, the Maximus VI Impact, arguably the top Haswell mITX motherboard currently available. The block, like it's previously released sibling, is what Bitspower calls a U.S.C design (Unibody Style Construction Design), which is a concept Bitspower uses to define a single solid block that covers all the major heat generating parts on a motherboard. In this case, the Z87 chipset, the CPU/socket and the vertical VRM.

Bitspower uses C1100 Copper for the block's base and hi-quality acrylic for the top cover. The base comes in two versions, Nickel plated or bare Copper, while the top can be had in ICE Black of Clear acrylic, making possible a total of four chromatically distinct versions of the block. The product package will include a thermal pad, a 2.5 grams syringe of Arctic Matrix thermal compound, a backup o-ring and the usual assortment of mounting screws and accessories.

G.SKILL Achieves World's Fastest Quad Channel Memory Speed at DDR3 4072MHz

No limit is too high for G.SKILL memory. ASUS Announces GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU Mini 2GB

ASUS announced the GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU Mini (model: GTX760-DCMOC-2GD5). Practically identical in design and construction to the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini launched this April, the card swaps out the GTX 670 ASIC for a pin-compatible GTX 760. It is characterized by a 170 mm-long full-height PCB that's suited for space-constrained cases. The PCB features a 5-phase VRM that draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The cooler features a vapor-chamber plate that draws heat from the GPU, dissipating it to a donut-shaped aluminium fin array, which is ventilated by a unique fan that combines top- and lateral-flow blades into a single impeller. The card sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. It is expected to be priced at US $299, a $50 premium over the reference design.

ASUS ROG Rampage IV Black Edition Breaks Five Overclocking World Records

At the OC Main Event in San Francisco, co-hosted by ASUS, Corsair and Intel, the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard was used to break five overclocking world records. ASUS has disclosed the details of the ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 final which will be organized with support from Corsair. The AOOC 2013 final will be held in Moscow on October 5, 2013, as part of the Igromir 2013 expo to be hosted by the Crocus Expo Center from October 3 to 6, 2013. ASUS Announces Transformer Book T100 and Transformer Book Trio

ASUS today showcased two new Transformer Book ultraportables at an ASUS product launch event during Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2013. The event was hosted by ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih and featured special guest Tom Kilroy, Intel Vice President. Transformer Book T100, and Transformer Book Trio are the latest models in a wide range of mobile and desktop computers from ASUS that will transform your expectations about technology. ASUS Introduces the VivoPC Mini PC

MeMo Pad maker ASUS has today launched the VivoPC, a mini PC that measures 190 x 190 x 56.2 mm and weighs just 1.2 kg. Set to hit scores at the end of this month, the VivoPC will arrive in two main versions, one with a silver chassis and lower specs (VM40B) and one with a black casing and better hardware (VC60).

The VM40B packs a 1.5 GHz Celeron 1007U processor and 2 GB of RAM while the VC60 comes equipped with either a 2.4 GHz Core i3-3110M or a 3.1 GHz Core i5-3210M CPU and 4 GB of memory. Both models include a 500 GB hard drive, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2-in-1 card reader, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectivity, and a 65 W power supply.

The VivoPC VM40B is set to cost 229 Euro. The VivoPC VC60 starts at 349 Euro and will go up to 519 Euro.

ASUS Announces X79 Deluxe Socket LGA2011 Motherboard

ASUS announced its first socket LGA2011 motherboard after Intel's Core i7 "Ivy Bridge-E" family launch. Sticking to the simplified model naming scheme introduced by its LGA1150 motherboard lineup, the board is named X79-Deluxe, and is styled just like them (black PCB, black expansion-slots, gold heatsinks). It is expected to ship with out of the box support for Intel's latest HEDT chips. The board is built in the standard ATX form-factor, drawing power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors. It uses a 10-phase VRM to power the CPU socket, which is wired to eight DDR3 DIMM slots, and four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots. A couple of PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots, wired to the PCH, make for the rest of its expansion.

Storage connectivity includes eight internal SATA 6 Gb/s ports, of which just two are wired to the X79 PCH, four SATA 3 Gb/s ports, and two eSATA 6 Gb/s. Out of the eight USB 3.0 ports on this board, you get six on the rear panel, two by header. The X79 Deluxe features the latest WiFi GO! module by ASUS, which lends it 802.11 ac WLAN, and Bluetooth 4.0 support. Of the two gigabit Ethernet ports on the board, one is driven by an Intel-made controller. 8-channel HD audio, and a number of USB 2.0/1.1 ports make for the rest. New ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe Waterblock from Bitspower

Bitspower, the Taiwanese water cooling and modding specialist, recently launched the first water block designed for ASUS' previous generation mITX wonder board, the P8Z77-I Deluxe. While no longer the best mITX board on the market, the Haswell launch parade made sure of that, the P8Z77-I Deluxe did develop quite a following, particularly with the SFF crowd, selling in good numbers for its segment and making the rounds in a plethora of SFF projects that sprung on various enthusiast boards around the web.

The Bitspower AIZ77ITXD block makes use of high quality acrylic for the top cover and nickel plated copper for its base.
