Thermaltake Input Devices, New Power Supplies and Cases

We also got a chance to drop by the Thermaltake suite at CES. They have quite a few new items on display. Let us start with the input devices. The Challenger and Challenger Pro gaming keyboards come with onboard memory, one or two USB 2.0 ports respectively and a small cooling fan, which clips onto the top edge of the part. They will also offer a gaming mouse called "Black" with up to 4,000 DPI in combination with a weight system and a pair of headsets (not pictured).

Gigabyte Presents the MIB Concept Along with Plenty of Other Cases

Gigabyte has been showing off a lot of cases in a suite at the Tapei 101 on the 36th floor. The MIB enclosures feature a VESA compatible monitor arm, so you can buy the case, add your own mini ITX board and other components. Then add a monitor of your choice to create an all in one PC. Gigabyte is showing off two versions of the case, but there is another one in the works, which we were not able to take a picture of.

Antec Launches P183 and P193 Performance One Mid-Tower Cases

Two new cases from Antec come today to show what the latest PC chassis design should look like. The Antec P183 and P193, both members of Antec's award-winning Performance One Series, build on the popular designs of the P182 and P190 series, respectively, while introducing improved cooling and airflow features, advanced noise control and compatibility with Antec's exclusive CP Series power supply.
The P183 mid-tower case measures 54 cm (H) x 20.5 cm (W) x 50.7 cm (D) and utilizes a dual chamber design; the power supply resides in a separate chamber to isolate heat and reduce system noise. Two TriCool 120x120x25 mm fans - one rear, one top - ensure optimal cooling, while three optional 120 mm fans provide additional cooling capabilities. Added vents designed in the front door also improve airflow into the P183. The double-hinged front door, which swings open to 270 degrees, allows for easy installation and customization.

The P193 Extended mid-tower ATX case is designed to provide system builders with increased flexibility. The spacious interior of the P193 ( 51.4 cm (H) x 20.5 cm (W) x 59 cm (D) ) supports a variety of hardware, with 11 drive bays, seven expansion slots, Mini-ITX to Extended ATX motherboard compatibility, and room for multiple graphics cards and dual CPUs. Four 120 mm TriCool fans - one rear, two top, and one side Big Boy 200 mm - ensure maximum air circulation. Like the P183, the P193 allows for an additional three 120 mm fans to be installed. It also features a dual chamber design to isolate heat and noise, added vents in the front door to improve airflow, and a double-hinged front door for easy installation.
The P183 and P193 are available at an estimated price of $179.95 and $209.95, respectively, through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. Both cases are backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty. For additional product information and full technical specifications click here.

Corsair Venturing Into Cases

Starting off as an ambitious memory products manufacturer in a highly competitive market, Corsair diversified its product lineup at a great pace: liquid cooling, SSDs, power supplies and now PC cases. That's right, Corsair is here to take on market heavyweights in the high-end PC case category, such as SilverStone, Lian Li, and Antec. This is suggested by a photoshoot of an upcoming Corsair PC case, sourced by Hexus.net, which shows a black, compatmentalized, aluminum full-ATX tower.

The pictures show the case to sport a typical design when it comes to placing the various components in the case, that till you find out that a front-door opens up the hard-drive enclosure to give the case hot-swap capabilities. Corsair's yet to be named case might get the spotlight at CeBIT.

Lian Li Launches PC-XB01: the Xbox 360 Chassis Replacement

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd will launch the PC-XB01 chassis for the Xbox 360 today. The XB01 is a chassis replacement for the XBox 360 chassis, which alleviates heating issues from hot components and reduces noise from vibrating optical drives in the original case design. Raktron Turbo PC: A 'turbocharged' PC with an actual turbocharger

For several years, people have used the cliche "Turbocharge your PC" when referring to upgrading it. Raktron Inc., which has both PC and car enthusiasts, had enough of this nonsense and decided to literally turbocharge their PC. They took a turbocharger out of a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and hooked what would be the intake manifold to the front of the case, and set the turbocharger fan to run at 3500rpm. Raktron then proceeded to put headlights on the case, gave it an incredible paint job, and licensed it through Ohio (could just be a novelty plate, though).

Arctic Cooling Silentium T Pro Series

Origen AE introduces the S21T

There are a lot of different HTPC cases out there, but this one takes the top spot. The Origen AE may be larger than the usual HTPC case, but it has space for 10 hard drives, is made out of aluminum and has a 12.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200. Yes 1080p on a 12.1 inch screen. It comes with a removable mainboard tray and 3 fans.

CES 2007: Ultra Debuts the First Carbon Fiber Computer Case


Ultra plans to debut unique new carbon fiber case, in this year's CES 2007. The carbon fiber is light weight material, which has been used in aircraft and race cars for years, but the Ultra case is about to be the first computer part to use it. The Ultra case has 5x 5.25 bays, 5x 3.5" internal bays for hard drives, and 2x 3.5" bays for floppy or small baybus controllers. The Ultra Carbon Fiber Case measures 20 ½" (height) x 19 ¾" (depth) x 8 ¼" (wide). It has a two 120mm fans, one in the front and one in the rear for exhaust. The frame is actually made from aluminum while the panels are from carbon fiber. The new Ultra Carbon Fiber case will be available with Ultra's new line of gaming PCs and available for individual purchase later this month. Ultra Products will also offer a clear-window version. Also coming later this month Ultra will announce a custom-paint program for users who wish to customize their own DIY rig with original artwork or designs.
