SilverStone Unveils the Sugo SG09 SFF PC Chassis

SilverStone is now preparing the release of a new PC case, a SFF (small form factor) model called Sugo SG09 that supports micro ATX, mini ITX and DTX motherboards. Set to become available in about two weeks, the chassis measures 220 (W) x 295 (H) x 354 (D) mm, it weights 5.3 kg, and features two front-placed USB 3.0 ports, one (slim) 5.25-inch bay, two 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch bays, and three pre-installed fans (one 120 mm spinner at the rear, one on the side and a 180 mm Air Penetrator on top).

The Sugo SG09 supports CPU coolers up to 165 mm tall and graphics cards up to 13.3-inch long, and is set to cost 90 Euro.

Lian Li Introduces the PC-D8000 Chassis

Lian-Li Industrial Co., Ltd, today announces the massive brushed aluminum HPTX supported chassis - PC-D8000. Able to hold up to twenty 3.5" hard drives, two power supplies and one of the largest motherboard form factors on the market, the PC-D8000 has plenty of space to fit all the hardware an enthusiast desires.

The massive 405 mm x 628 mm x 572 mm (15.9" x 24.7" x 22.5") PC-D8000 complements the virtually limitless hardware and storage capabilities with many tool-less features for ease of installation. The front panel of the PC-D8000 pops-off allowing full access to the twenty 3.5" hard drives. Each drive can be easily secured and removed thanks to the included thumbscrews and rubber suspensions. A key lock for the 3.5" HDD cage preventing unwanted removal of the hard drives adds extra security.

Xigmatek Readies the Asgard 382 PC Chassis

Xigmatek is now preparing the release of a new Asgard Series PC Case, a mid-tower called Asgard 382 which will be available in no less than six versions (three with a side window, three without). Seen below, this upcoming gaming chassis measures 505 (L) x 445 (H) x 195 (W) mm, has support for ATX, micro ATX and mini ITX motherboards, and features two top-placed USB 3.0 ports, three 5.25-inch bays, four 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch drive bays, plus one pre-installed 120 mm fan (found at the back).

The Asgard 382 has yet to be priced.

Enermax Releases White Version of the Ostrog PC Chassis

After the official presentation of the Ostrog case series in June, it is continuously growing in popularity. Fitted with features and functions that are normally reserved for the premium-class models, the midi tower offers much comfort and a lot of space at an affordable price.

Lian Li's Gargantuan PC-D8000 Chassis Detailed

Stocking up for the next time hard drive makers use natural calamities as pretense to inflate prices and still turn record financial results? It's Lian Li to the rescue. The aluminum chassis specialist unveiled PC-D8000, a massive full-ATX tower case with room for twenty hard drives. Measuring a gargantuan 405 x 628 x 572 mm (WxDxH), and weighing 26 lbs (13 kg), the PC-D8000 packs twenty 3.5-inch drive bays arranged in two stacks that span the entire height of the case in the front portion. In addition, the case packs six 5.25-inch bays, from which one features front-panel ports.

Internally, the case features a detachable motherboard and expansion card tray, letting you install the motherboard and add-on cards outside the case. The tray supports HPTX form-factor motherboards (such as EVGA SR-X), and graphics cards as long as 410 mm (16-inch). The case provides room for two PSUs, letting you set up redundant power supply, or combine the power output of two units, by wiring them to different components. We spy as many as eighteen provisions for 140 mm fans. German retailer Alternate.de lists the PC-D8000 for pre-order, priced at 329 Euros.

AeroCool Readies Mechatron Black Edition Chassis

AeroCool's fourth addition to its PC case lineup this fall is the Mechatron Black Edition, following the XPreadator X3 Devil Red and White Edition, and Strike-X Air. Part of the PGS B (performance gaming series black) line of cases, the Mechatron Black Edition is an ATX mid-tower with all-black interiors and mostly-black transformer-esque exteriors. 0.6 mm-thick SECC steel makes up its frame and most of its panels. Internally, the case is spacious enough for CPU coolers 175 mm tall, and video cards 330 mm long.

The Mechatron Black Edition is one of the very few cases with 2.5-inch drive bays that are not adopted from 3.5-inch ones. The case features three 2.5-inch internal bays, four 3.5-inch bays, and three 5.25-inch bays. The motherboard tray features valved cutouts for cabling, and a large cutout around the CPU and memory areas. The bottom-mounted PSU tray is designed for extra-long PSUs, with dust filters.

Alongside the XPreadator X3 Devil Red and White Editions, the new Strike-X Air is among four new cases the company has planned for launch in Fall, 2012. Featuring the distinct black+red styling characteristic of the Strike-X family of cases, PSUs, and notebook coolers from AeroCool, the new Strike-X Air is an open case designed for enthusiasts that need quick access to components, but like to keep components organized (not laid out on a table). Unlike several cases in its category, the Strike-X Air features an armature design that lets you completely open up the top, on which a 200 mm fan is suspended, giving you complete access to components installed on the motherboard.

The Strike-X Air supports XL-ATX motherboards, with up to 10 expansion slots, and room for graphics cards as long as 33 cm. The case features three each of 5.25-inch and 3.5/2.5-inch drive bays, with hot-swap back planes. There is room for unconventionally long PSUs. The side compartment that holds the drive and PSU bays is ventilated by a 120 mm fan. Front panel connectivity includes a USB 2.0/1.1 and three USB 3.0 ports (standard headers); and front-panel HD audio jacks. AeroCool plans to make the Strike-X Air available some time in early-October.

Lian Li Announces PC-V650 ATX Chassis

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces an aluminum ATX supported chassis with a side mounted power supply design - PC-V650. With the power supply to be mounted on its side, the PC-V650 is shorter than most ATX chassis while still having room to install the hardware that DIY builders desire.

Instead of sitting underneath the expansion slots, a power supply up 230mm (9.0") in length can be placed sideways parallel to the expansions slots, adding to the width of the case. With this design the 360mm (14.1") tall and 251mm (9.8") wide PC-V650 does not need the extra height to fit DIY builder's preferred components.

Lian Li Announces Silent ATX Chassis - PC-B12

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces a silent brushed aluminum ATX supported chassis - PC-B12. The PC-B12 has many features to keep noise down to minimum, including: a vent on the bottom of the chassis pulling in cool air, a downward facing exhaust baffle and noise dampening foam on the front and side panels.

The front panel of the PC-B12 has no visible vents. Instead of air entering in from the front, two 140 mm fans behind the front panel pull in cool air through the 12 cm wide (4.7") intake vent on the bottom of the chassis. Four sturdy aluminum feet with rubber bottoms to reduce vibrations give ample room for air to be pulled into the bottom vent. The rear 120 mm exhaust fan has an adjustable downward facing exhaust baffle on the exterior of the case with noise dampening foam that not only bounces the sound waves down, but also directs the hot air towards the floor.

Lian Li Announces PC-X2000FN Slim EATX Chassis

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces a tall, slim brushed aluminum EATX supported chassis - PC-X2000FN. The PC-X2000FN keeps DIY builder's hardware neat and organized in the interior with its three separate compartments, while having a sleek, elegant feel on the outside thanks to the one-piece front panel with no visible vents on holes.

693mm (27.3") tall and 240mm (9.4") wide, the PC-X2000FN lets DIY builders install the hardware they desire in a neat, organized and compartmentalized fashion. Scythe Easy Mobile Rack is an easy Mounting Bay for 3,5" HDDs which is meant to be installed into a vacant 5,25" Bay. New Scythe Easy Mobile Rack comes in an elegant black colored design, allowing it to fit into a wide range of on-market PC chassis.

Installation of Scythe Easy Mobile Rack is really easy. It only has to be placed into a vacant 5,25" Bay of the PC chassis and secured by several screws, similar to the installation of an optical (CD, DVD or Bluray) drive. Required 8 screws are typically for Scythe included in the Package of the Scythe Easy Mobile Rack. After the Easy Mobile Rack is installed, user only have to connect one S-ATA Power Cable from the Power Supply Unit and one S-ATA Data Cable from the Mainboard to the back side of the Easy Mobile Rack. Fractal Design Rolls Out Node 605 ATX HTPC Chassis

Fractal Design unveiled its newest premium HTPC chassis, the Node 605. Large enough to hold ATX form-factor motherboards, the Node 605 bears a minimalist design, with brushed aluminum front-panel, and steel frame. The front-panel includes a slimline optical drive bay, a multi-format card reader, two USB 3.0 ports (standard header), Firewire, and HD audio front-panel jacks. All front-panel connections are concealed behind a lid that blends with the rest of the panel.

The Node 605 has four internal drive bays, which can hold 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. The four bays are arranged in two cages, which can be detached to create additional room for long graphics cards (up to 29 cm). The case has provision for a total of five fans, three 120 mm, and two 80 mm. Two 120 mm Silent Series R2 fans are included, so are dust-filters and a 3-channel fan-controller. Fractal Design did not disclose pricing and availability information.

GIGAZONE Unveils GZ-M1 Micro-ATX Chassis

GIGAZONE, a brand owned by GIGABYTE, unveiled its latest chassis, the GZ-M1. Built in the micro-ATX tower form-factor, the case measures 180 x 400 x 365 mm, weighing about 3.5 kg, and is made of SECC steel and ABS. The case includes a few innovations for today's gaming PC builds, including up to 340 mm of headroom for extra-long graphics cards, which can be obtained by detaching a 3.5-inch drive cage. Internally, the case has its PSU bay located above the motherboard tray.

Drive bays include two 5.25-inch, two 3.5-inch (exposed), and two 3.5-inch (discrete, detachable). Ventilation includes one 90 mm rear exhaust, one 80/90 mm front-intake (fan not included), provision for one 80 mm side-panel intake, and provision for smaller 60 mm fans on the drive cages. Its front-panel includes one each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, apart from front-panel audio jacks. Slated for market-release on May 28, in Japan, it is priced at 5,480 JPY (US $69).

Nexus Introduces the Thrio 310 PC Chassis

Dutch company Nexus Technology has today revealed a new addition to its PC case offering, the Thrio 310 mid-tower. Seen below all dressed in black, the chassis measures 468 x 180 x 430 mm, and features pre-fitted noise-absorbing material, ATX and micro ATX motherboard support, a front I/O panel with one USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports, three exposed 5.25-inch bays and eight internal 3.5-inch drive bays (all with tool-free mounting systems), a 120 mm fan (installed at the back), and rubber feet.

The Thrio 310 is available for pre-order priced at 45.70 Euro.

Sharkoon Releases Rebel9 Alu U3 and Nightfall U3 with USB 3.0 Interface

Sharkoon reissues two of their upgraded PC towers: The Sharkoon Nightfall and the Sharkoon Rebel9 Aluminium are now available with a front USB 3.0. Sharkoon has replaced the existing eSATA port on both Midi ATX towers with a SuperSpeed USB interface. For the internal USB 3.0 port, a 19-pin connector cable is available for mainboards with a USB 3.0 header.

Both towers present themselves with an elegant, black-finished aluminium front, including a high-quality "diamond cut" edging and detachable drive covers. The SECC case on both models, with its exterior and interior black finish, are identical; differences consist in the front design and with the drive installation options.

Cooler Master Unveils the HAF XM Chassis

Cooler Master finally launched the High Air Flow (HAF) XM chassis (model: RC922XM-KKN1). The XM is an ATX mid-tower variant of the HAF X, which is a full-tower. The HAF XM supports standard ATX and E-ATX motherboards, with 8+1 expansion slots, allowing users to take advantage of the bottommost expansion slot on their motherboards to install big multi-slot graphics cards. As with every other HAF series chassis, the design emphasis is on high air-flow, to maintain a positive air pressure inside the case, resulting in better cooling.

Measuring 252 x 530 x 579 mm, the HAF XM features three 5.25" drive bays, and eight 3.5" drive bays (that include two hot-swap bays with removable SATA backplate). Its perforated front grille houses one red LED-lit 200 mm fan (which can be replaced by a 140 mm fan, or two 120 mm fans); one 140 mm rear fan; two 200 mm top fans, and two 140 mm side-panel fans. Its front-panel includes two USB 3.0 ports (standard header), two USB 2.0 ports, and HDA front-panel jacks. The case is made mostly of SECC-steel and ABS plastic. It weighs about 10.5 kg.
