Palit Regulatory Filing Suggests NVIDIA Planning Joint Announcement of Three "Ti" SKUs

A regulatory filing by Palit with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for several of its upcoming custom-design graphics cards, points to the possibility that NVIDIA is preparing to announcing three GeForce RTX 30-series Ti desktop graphics card SKUs in one go. These include the much talked about GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, the RTX 3070 Ti, and the RTX 3050 Ti.

From these, the RTX 3080 Ti is positioned between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, possibly helping NVIDIA better compete against the Radeon RX 6900 XT. The RTX 3070 Ti improves the company's competitiveness against the RX 6800. The new RTX 3050 Ti could carve out a performance class for itself, and as yet AMD lacks any desktop SKUs below the RX 6700 XT from the current generation, at least in the retail channel. The three cards could be launched in Q2-2021.

PALIT Reveals the GeForce RTX 3070 JetStream Graphics Card

Ahead of the official release date for NVIDIA's RTX 3070 graphics cards (set for October 29th, the day after AMD's Navi announcement on October 28th), PALIT has taken the wraps of their RTX 3070 JetStream graphics card. The JetStream features a relatively subdued design with a glossy black color and a gray JetStream logo (which apparently lights in with RGB illumination) in-between the dual fan cooling solution.

The card's PCB is short - extremely short, even - meaning that it ends around the middle section of the actual cooler shroud (and backplate, which accompanies the shroud). This also means that the power connectors (a 2x 8-pin solution) sits in the middle of the card, rotated 90º relative to the cards' length. This particular choice from Palit could mean difficulties for cable routing and tidying up builds. Overall, the card features an attractive, low-key design. PALIT will reveal the full card specifications come the official launch on October 29th.

Palit Releases GTX 1650 KalmX - a Passively Cooled, 0dB GPU

Palit has today released the latest addition to its KalmX passive series of graphics cards - the GTX 1650 KalmX. This graphics card is an ITX-sized, 178 mm long GPU that is designed for zero noise, passively cooled builds, where noise is the primary factor. With a heatsink consisting out of two heat-pipes and many fins, the cooling solution should be capable of cooling the 75 W TDP of the GTX 1650 GPU. The cold plate of the heatsink covers the GPU and VRMs to provide safe GPU operation. Being based on the reference design, this card features default speeds of 1485 MHz base, and 1665 MHz boost clocks. For IO, Palit opted to include three ports, where one is HDMI 2.0b and the other two are DisplayPort 1.4a. All the power needed is provided by the PCIe slot, so there are no external power connectors.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Released: TU117, 896 Cores, 4 GB GDDR5, $150

NVIDIA today rolled out the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card at USD $149.99. Like its other GeForce GTX 16-series siblings, the GTX 1650 is derived from the "Turing" architecture, but without RTX real-time raytracing hardware, such as RT cores or tensor cores. The GTX 1650 is based on the 12 nm "TU117" silicon, which is the smallest implementation of "Turing." Measuring 200 mm² (die area), the TU117 crams 4.7 billion transistors. It is equipped with 896 CUDA cores, 56 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory clocked at 8 Gbps (128 GB/s bandwidth). The GPU is clocked at 1485 MHz, and the GPU Boost at 1665 MHz.

The GeForce GTX 1650 at its given price is positioned competitively with the Radeon RX 570 4 GB from AMD. NVIDIA has been surprisingly low-key about this launch, by not just leaving it up to the partners to drive the launch, but also sample reviewers. There are no pre-launch Reviewer drivers provided by NVIDIA, and hence we don't have a launch-day review for you yet. We do have GTX 1650 graphics cards, namely the Palit GTX 1650 StormX, MSI GTX 1650 Gaming X, and ASUS ROG GTX 1650 Strix OC.

Update: Catch our reviews of the ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1650 OC and MSI GTX 1650 Gaming X
