Soon after launching GeForce GTX 680 JetStream, Palit is working on its variant with double the amount of memory, at 4 GB. The GTX 680 JetStream 4 GB joins Gainward's GTX 680 Phantom 4 GB and Galaxy GTX 680 4 GB, at being some of the first cards with double the memory amount, which could just come handy with triple-monitor 3D Vision Surround setups.

Unlike the 2 GB GTX 680 JetStream, which has 1150 MHz (core boost) and 6.30 GHz (memory), the 4 GB variant sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 1056 MHz (core boost) and 6.00 GHz (memory). Like the 2 GB variant, the new card will use 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors to draw power. We can see from pictures that the PCB is a slight variation of NVIDIA's reference design, besides the GDDR5 memory chips on the reverse side of the PCB, which are not cooled by any back-plate. Its launch could be very soon.

Palit unveiled a premium custom-design GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, called "JetStream". TweakTown got to review the card (find it at the source). The card features Palit's in-house designs for both the cooler and the PCB. The cooler consists of a sporty-looking shroud that holds three PWM-controlled fans, two 80 mm (sides) and one 90 mm (center); which ventilate a large aluminum fin heatsink that spans the entire length of the card. This heatsink relies on four heat pipes that make direct contact with the GPU, to draw heat. While the main heatsink only cools the GPU actively, a secondary base-plate heatsink cools the memory and VRM. The fans in the cooler are LED-lit.

Moving on to the PCB, Palit employed a 6-phase VRM, which makes use of high-grade chokes and DrMOS (driver-MOSFET) components, to power the card. The card draws power from 6+8 pin PCIe power connectors. The card is also factory-overclocked, with the Core (base) clock pushed up to 1085 MHz (from 1006 MHz reference); and Core (boost) upped to 1150 MHz (from 1058 MHz). The memory, on the other hand, has been stepped up to 1575 MHz (6.30 GHz GDDR5 effective), up from 1502 MHz (6.00 GHz GDDR5 effective) reference. It doesn't end there, Palit assures 10% overclocking performance, 9 dB quieter operation (than reference design), and 8°C lower temperatures. The card is expected to cost US $20-30 higher than NVIDIA reference design (so, around $530).

NVIDIA released its newest graphics card model specifically for the winter shopping season, the limited edition GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 cores. Not only is this a limited edition launch, but also targeting only specific markets in North America and Europe. This includes the United States and Canada in North America; and the UK, France, Germany, Russia, and the Nordics in Europe. The new card is based on the 40 nanometer GF110 GPU instead of the GF114 that the regular GTX 560 Ti is based on. This allows NVIDIA to add 64 more CUDA cores (448 vs. 384), 25% more memory (1280 MB vs. 1024), and a 25% wider memory bus (320 bit vs. 256).

The new limited edition GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 cores features clock speeds identical to those on the GeForce GTX 570, at 732 MHz core, 1464 MHz CUDA cores, and 950 MHz (3.80 GHz effective) GDDR5 memory. Since it's based on the GF110 board, this new card is also capable of 3-way SLI, something the regular GTX 560 Ti isn't. The card draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Palit unveiled a new limited-edition GeForce GTX 560 Ti based non-reference design graphics card, the Palit GTX 560 Ti Twin Light Turbo. The card's design is based on a black colored PCB (Palit uses a red-colored one on its regular GTX 560 Ti cards), and a unique GPU Cooler design. The heatsink follows essentially the same structure as the one featured on Gainward Phantom cards, in which heat is conveyed to the aluminum fin stack by four heat pipes, but the fans that ventilate the card are located on the side of the heatsink facing the PCB, rather than on top of it. The fans draw in air from the heatsink. Palit claims that the cooler has a noise output of less than 10 dBA.

The clock speeds of the card are not given out, yet. Like every other GTX 560 Ti, this card makes use of a 40 nm GeForce Fermi 114 GPU, is DirectX 11 compliant, packs 384 CUDA cores, and makes use of 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of D-Sub and HDMI (full-size). There is one SLI connector that allows 2-way SLI with any other GTX 560 Ti card, and power is drawn in from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Availability and pricing information is not known at the moment.

Other than its size and shape, the card sticks to NVIDIA reference specifications and clock speeds, that's 789/1566/900(3600) MHz core/shader/memory, 192 CUDA cores, and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide memory interface. It draws power from one 6-pin PCI-E power connector. Palit's low-profile card could cost a small premium over standard cards.

Palit is ready with its own-design GeForce GTS 450-based graphics card. Palit's design looks nearly identical to that of its GeForce GTX 460. It uses a red-colored custom-design PCB, a fan heatsink with a shroud that spans along the length of the card, and display connectivity that includes two DVI, an HDMI, and a DisplayPort. Palit will release a base-model that sticks to the reference clock speeds of 783/1566/900(3600) MHz core/shader/memory, while Sonic, and Sonic+ factory-overclocked models could be in the works. The company is also said to be working on a SFF-friendly low-profile model based on the GTS 450. Palit's base model card is priced around the $136 mark.

NVIDIA today announced the latest addition to its Fermi-class of graphics processing units (GPUs), the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 -- which delivers a great DX11 gaming experience and is priced right at the market's $199 sweet spot.

Palit's latest offering is a GeForce GTX 465 graphics card that reuses the dual-fan design used on the GeForce GTX 470 the company recently released. Apart from a cost-effective PCB and overclocker-friendly cooler than uses a dense aluminum fin array cooled by two 90 mm fans, the card has four display connectors, including two DVI-D, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. With design constraints, however, only two of the four connectors can be used at a time. Palit's GTX 465 will be available at a fairly standard price of around US $ 280.

Gainward released a new custom-design GeForce GTX 470 graphics card, which is based on the Gainward GTX 470 GOOD Edition that was launched a month ago, replicated as Palit GTX 470 Dual-Fan. The factory-overclocked model is designated with the Golden Sample (GS) identifier. It packs clock speeds of 650/1301/850(3400) MHz (core/shader/memory), against reference speeds of 607/1215/837(3348) MHz.

As with the GOOD Edition design, it features a slightly longer PCB at 10.5 inches, custom dual-fan GPU cooler, and display outputs which include two DVI-D, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort (though only two displays can be connected at a time). The DirectX 11 compliant GeForce GTX 470 packs 448 CUDA cores, and 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory across a 320-bit wide memory interface. It is expected to be priced at a slight premium of the GOOD Edition.

Less than a year ago, Palit-owned Gainward, a premium graphics card manufacturer, signed a contract with AMD/ATI and began to manufacture graphic accelerators with AMD/ATI Radeon chips. However, it now seems that Gainward will end its relationship with AMD/ATI and return to being an NVIDIA-only board partner. This is further backed by the fact that Gainward has not released any Radeon HD 4890 or HD 4770 cards and apparently it has already notified some distributors about ending its AMD/ATI line-up.

There's a new card being prepared by Gainward. Named after Cáo Cāo, a warlord in ancient China, Gainward GeForce GTX 285 Cao Cao Edition borrows the whole concept of Palit's custom GeForce GTX 285 card with 1 GB and 2 GB memory. Regardless of the mighty dual-slot cooler, the card is stock clocked at 648 MHz for the 55nm GPU, 1476 MHz for the 240 Processing Cores and 2484 MHz for the memory. In contrast to Palit cards, the Cao Cao Gainward will ship with "only" 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The card is also said to cost around $440 when released.

Known to be an innovative lot when it comes to designing graphics cards, Palit has quitely slipped in a new variant to its Radeon HD 4850 series: the Palit Radeon HD 4850 Sonic Special Edition. What makes this card special, or rather different from the HD 4850 Sonic, are its memory and connectivity options. This is perhaps the first and only Radeon HD 4850 accelerator with GDDR5 memory. The card features 512 MB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide bus.

It uses an identical dual-slot cooler design to that of the HD 4850 Sonic. If the faster memory wasn't incentive enough, Palit has also expanded the connectivity options. The card provides a DVI, D-Sub (analog), HDMI and DisplayPort connectors all on the card. Owing to the Sonic branding, the card definitely sports higher clock-speeds than what AMD specifies. Further blurring the line between this card and a Radeon HD 4870, is its requirement of two 6-pin PCI-E power inputs.
