NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Leak Tips More VRAM, Cores, and Power Draw

It's an open secret by now that NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5000 series GPUs are on the way, with an early 2025 launch on the cards. Now, preliminary details about the RTX 5070 Ti have leaked, revealing an increase in both VRAM and TDP and suggesting that the new upper mid-range GPU will finally address the increased VRAM demand from modern games. According to the leak from Wccftech, the RTX 5070 Ti will have 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, up from 12 GB on the RTX 4070 Ti, as we previously speculated. Also confirming previous leaks, the new sources confirm that the 5070 Ti will use the cut-down GB203 chip, although the new leak points to a significantly higher TBP of 350 W. The new memory configuration will supposedly run on a 256-bit memory bus and run at 28 Gbps for a total memory bandwidth of 896 GB/s, which is a significant boost over the RTX 4070 Ti.

Supposedly, the RTX 5070 Ti will also see a bump in total CUDA cores, from 7680 in the RTX 4070 Ti to 8960 in the RTX 5070 Ti. The new RTX 5070 Ti will also switch to the 12V-2x6 power connector, compared to the 16-pin connector from the 4070 Ti. NVIDIA is expected to announce the RTX 5000 series graphics cards at CES 2025 in early January, but the RTX 5070 Ti will supposedly be the third card in the 5000-series launch cycle. That said, leaks suggest that the 5070 Ti will still launch in Q1 2025, meaning we may see an indication of specs at CES 2025, although pricing is still unclear.

Update Dec 16th: Kopite7kimi, ubiquitous hardware leaker, has since responded to the RTX 5070 Ti leaks, stating that 350 W may be on the higher end for the RTX 5070 Ti: "...the latest data shows 285W. However, 350W is also one of the configs." This could mean that a TBP of 350 W is possible, although maybe only on certain graphics card models, if competition is strong, or in certain boost scenarios.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER with AD102 GPU Appears on German Retailer Listing

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER featuring the AD102 GPU, initially speculated to be an Asia-exclusive release, is now confirmed for worldwide distribution. This development comes as the GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Windforce MAX OC 16 GB, the first model equipped with this configuration, has appeared on German online retailer listing, specifically at Mindfactory. Previously using AD103-275 GPU SKU for the regular GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Windforce model, the "MAX" variant now comes with AD102-225 GPU SKU. Priced at over 950 Euros, it commands a premium over the standard Windforce model. The "MAX" designation not only indicates the different GPU but also boasts an official 30 MHz higher clock speed. The Max variant also employs the more robust cooling system typically found in the GeForce RTX 4080/4090 class. This is a departure from the smaller RTX 4070 Ti design used in the SUPER variant with the AD103 GPU.

While the performance and power consumption differences between the AD102 and AD103 versions may be negligible for most users, the adoption of larger cooling systems in many custom designs could prove beneficial. This enhanced thermal management might appeal to enthusiasts and overclockers looking to push their graphics cards to the limit. While the regular AD103 card measures 261x126x50 mm, the MAX model with its AD102 and beefier coolers measures 331x136x55.5 mm. Overclockers could push the performance of this card further, and we wait to see what will come out of the AD102-225 silicon on the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER platform.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Drops to $680 as Retailers Move to Clear Inventories

NVIDIA has discontinued production the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, as it replaced it with the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER at the $800 price-point, equipped with a wider 256-bit memory bus, 16 GB of memory, and more CUDA cores. With a rather wide $200 price gap between the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and the RTX 4070 SUPER that's priced at $600, retailers found an opportunity to sell their remaining inventories of the RTX 4070 Ti for around the $700-mark. The cheapest RTX 4070 Ti is the MSI Ventus 2X OC, which is listed at $699 on Newegg, with a coupon shaving off a further $20, bringing the price down to $679.

Would you pay the extra $80 to grab an RTX 4070 Ti over the $600 RTX 4070 SUPER? Our testing shows that the RTX 4070 Ti is about 8% faster than the RTX 4070 SUPER at 1440p, when averaged across our tests. With the latest prices, the RTX 4070 Ti remains 13% pricier than the RTX 4070 SUPER. The RTX 4070 Ti maxes out the 5 nm AD104 silicon, enabling all 60 streaming multiprocessors (SM), for 7,680 CUDA cores, 240 Tensor cores, 60 RT cores, 240 TMUs, and 80 ROPs, besides the chip's full 48 MB L2 cache. Unlike the RTX 4070 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti comes with dual NVDEC units.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series GPUs Now Priced Below MSRP in Germany

Two months ago, NVIDIA introduced its GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series to the market, bringing a trio of models: RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4080 SUPER. Today, according to the report from ComputerBase, NVIDIA's latest trio has recorded a drop in pricing recently, and it now retails under MSRP in German stores. The RTX 4070 SUPER started with an MSRP of 659 Euros ($599 in the US) and is now available from 589 Euros. Its older brother, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, started with an MSRP listing of 889 Euros ($799 in the US) and is now retailing from 840 Euros. Lastly, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER has been listed at 1,109 Euros ($999 in the US) and is now retailing with a small discount at 1,092 Euros.

Once NVIDIA launched a new GPU generation, it became a custom for these cards to be retailed over their MSRP long before prices were adjusted and settled. However, with the latest SUPER refresh, this seems to be one of the fastest price adjustments. This could be caused by either an improvement in the supply chain or leveled supply and demand, making it so that these cards are finally trading below their launch-level MSRPs.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Drops Down to $699, Matches Radeon RX 7900 XT Price

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti an now be found for as low as $699, which means it is now selling at the same price as the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti definitely lags behind the Radeon RX 7900 XT, and packs less VRAM (12 GB vs. 20 GB), and the faster GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is selling for around $100 more. The Radeon RX 7900 XT is around 6 to 11 percent faster, depending on the game and the resolution.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti card in question comes from MSI and it is Ventus 2X OC model listed over at Newegg.com for $749.99 with a $50-off promotion code. Bear in mind that this is a dual-fan version from MSI and we are quite sure we'll see similar promotions from other NVIDIA AIC partners.

ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER & 4070 Ti SUPER Models Appear on Amazon

ZOTAC's new range of GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards have frequently hit headlines since an unveiling at CES 2024—the Hong Kong-headquarted hardware manufacturer set the tone early, with certain models sticking to NVIDIA guide prices. Hardware sleuth, momomo_us, has continued to keep track of ZOTAC-related activity—their latest discovery being the premature sale of GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Trinity Black Edition 16 GB models on Amazon USA. The listing popped up over the weekend, with customers greeted to a $899.99 asking price—so $100 above MSRP. It is clear that this product page was activated by mistake—the card is not available to purchase (at the time of writing).

VideoCardz proceeded to investigate further, following the initial find (courtesy of momomo_us)—their weekend sleuthing efforts have outed additional premature ZOTAC listings on Amazon.com. In the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER category we can see the AMP Extreme AIRO version ($1399.99), Trinity OC White Edition ($1349.99) and Trinity Black Edition ($1299.99). Moving down the line—with 4070 Ti SUPER cards—listings appeared for AMP HOLO ($969.99), Trinity OC White Edition ($939.99) and the aforementioned Trinity Black Edition (non-overclocked) coming in at $899.99. They also tracked down PNY's GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB XLR8 Gaming VERTO EPIC-X RGB graphics card—its Amazon price listing was reported as being a semi-wallet friendly $1049 (prior to deactivation).

ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Dual OC Snapped—Goodbye 8-pin

Here are some of the first pictures of the ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Dual OC, the company's close-to-MSRP custom-design implementation of the upcoming RTX 4070 SUPER, which is expected to be announced on January 8, with reviews and retail availability a week later. The card very closely resembles the design of the RTX 4070 Dual OC, but with one major difference—the single 8-pin PCIe power connector makes way for a 16-pin 12VHPWR. Considering that the ASUS Dual OC series tends to come with a nominal factory OC at power limits matching NVIDIA reference, this is the first sign that the RTX 4070 SUPER in general might have typical graphics power (TGP) above what a single 8-pin could fulfill, and so we've given a 12VHPWR, just like every RTX 4070 Ti. The cards will include an NVIDIA-designed adapter that converts two 8-pin PCIe to a 12VHPWR, with its signal pins set to tell the graphics card that it can deliver 300 W of continuous power.

The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is based on the same AD104 silicon as the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti, with its ASIC code rumored to be "AD104-350." The SKU allegedly enables 56 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors (SM) present on the silicon, giving it 7,168 out of 7,680 CUDA cores. This is a big increase from the 5,888 CUDA cores (46 SM) that the vanilla RTX 4070 is configured with. The memory subsystem is expected to be unchanged from the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti—12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X across a 192-bit memory interface; leaving NVIDIA with one possible lever, the ROP count. While the RTX 4070 Ti has 80 ROPs, the RTX 4070 has 64. It remains to be seen how many the RTX 4070 SUPER gets. Its rumored TGP of 225 W is behind the switch to 12VHPWR connectors.

Alphacool Unveils Three New Aurora Series VGA Blocks for RTX 40-series Graphics Cards

More performance for RTX 4070Ti and RTX 4090 GPUs! With this new and innovative cooler, Alphacool is expanding its range to include active water cooling for NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4090 graphics cards. The enormous waste heat from the new generation of graphics cards is thus excellently dissipated by the cooler. The full-surface chrome plating of the copper base not only offers resistant protection against acids, scratches and damage, but also achieves a beautiful homogeneity and a special shine.

The Aurora design is visually calm and simple, as only one O-ring runs around the entire radiator. The design of the cooling fins and the jetplate also ensures a clear look. Thanks to the chrome plating, the illumination using digitally addressable RGB LEDs spreads evenly throughout the cooler. The Core GeForce RTX 4090 Master V.2 is now available for pre-order in the Alphacool store. The Eisblock Aurora GeForce RTX 4090 Aorus Master - Gaming V.2 and the Eisblock Aurora GeForce RTX 4070 TI ROG Strix are now available for delivery in the Alphacool online store.

ASUS Launches TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti White OC Edition Graphics Card

ASUS has expanded its TUF White lineup with the new TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti White OC Edition graphics card. The new graphics card is pretty much the same version of the popular TUF Gaming 4070 Ti OC Edition, just with a white color scheme, which includes the shroud, fans, the backplate, and even the standoffs.

In terms of specifications, the new TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti White is still an OC Edition graphics card, which means the GPU is factory overclocked to 2,730 MHz Boost clock in default mode and 2,760 MHz in OC Mode. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is based on the AD104-400 GPU with 7,680 CUDA cores and it comes with 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit memory interface, leaving it with a maximum memory bandwidth of 504 GB/s.

MSI Readies GeForce RTX 40-series Ventus 3X E Graphics Cards

MSI is ready with a new line of cost-effective custom-design GeForce RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics cards, dubbed the Ventus 3X E-series, where the letter E denotes "essentials." According to Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech, these cards are characterized by certain structural improvements, and for certain models, a different set of display outputs than the regular Ventus 3X series. While the current Ventus 3X series sticks to the NVIDIA baseline spec, with three DisplayPorts and one HDMI, some of the new Ventus 3X E-series comes with two DisplayPorts and two HDMI connectors instead of one.

MSI is planning to release Ventus 3X E-series SKUs based on the GeForce RTX 4070, the RTX 4070 Ti, and the RTX 4090. There are SKUs that stick to NVIDIA reference clock speeds and are priced at the NVIDIA MSRP; while their OC sub-variants come with a minor factory overclock. What's important to note here, is that the "E" brand extension isn't part of the Ventus 3X brand itself, and as such, the box art for these new cards is indistinguishable from the older Ventus 3X cards. You need to pay attention to the long-form model number printed near the barcodes, which has "E" or "E1" printed next to "Ventus 3X."

MSI Unveils GeForce RTX 4070/RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 2X White Graphics Card

In addition to the full line of slimmer GAMING SLIM NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, MSI has sneaked a couple of other models to its GeForce RTX 40 series lineup, including the MSI RTX 4070 Ventus 2X White and the RTX 4070 Ti VENTUS 2X White. Featuring an all-white design, the VENTUS 2X WHITE features a dual-fan cooler with a white backplate.

The MSI RTX 4070 Ti VENTUS 2X White works at 2,610 MHz Boost clock, which can be further tuned up to 2,625 via MSI Center, while the MSI RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X works at 2,475 MHz Boost clock which can be further pushed up to 2,490 MHz via MSI Center. The rest of the specifications and the design, other than an all-white color scheme, should be the same as on the standard black versions of these graphics cards. Both feature TORX FAN 4.0 with Zero Frozr, copper baseplate with Core Pipes heatpipe design, and reinforced backplate.

AMD Confirms New "Enthusiast-class" Radeon 7000-series Graphics Cards This Quarter

AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su, in her Q2-2023 Financial Results call, confirmed that the company will launch new "enthusiast-class" gaming graphics cards within Q3-2023 (any time before October). "In gaming graphics, we expanded our Radeon 7000 GPU series in the second quarter with the launch of our mainstream RX 7600 cards for 1080p gaming. We are on track to further expand our RDNA 3 GPU offerings with the launch of new, enthusiast-class Radeon 7000 series cards in the third quarter," she stated.

There are two distinct possibilities of what "enthusiast class" entails. The first and most obvious one, could be the introduction of the RX 7800 series, including the RX 7800 XT, which is expected to closely resemble the limited-edition RX 7900 GRE by the specs; but a less talked-about possibility could even be the RX 7950 series. In its testing, the RX 7900 GRE was found to offer raster 3D performance comparable to the previous-generation RX 6950 XT although with better ray tracing performance on account of improved Ray Accelerators, which would put it behind the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti that AMD is trying to compete with. This should mean that for AMD to have a compelling "RX 7800 XT" product, it should perform faster than the RX 7900 GRE (possible through higher clock speeds or a few more CU).

NVIDIA Cancels GeForce RTX 4090 Ti, Next-Gen Flagship to Feature 512-bit Memory Bus

NVIDIA has reportedly shelved plans in the short term to release the rumored GeForce RTX 4090 Ti flagship graphics card, according to Kopite7kimi, a reliable source with NVIDIA leaks. This card had been extensively leaked over the past few months as featuring a cinder block-like 4-slot thickness, and a unique PCB that's along the plane of the motherboard, rather than perpendicular to it. From the looks of it, sales and competition in the high-end/halo segment are too slow, the current RTX 4090 remains the fastest graphics card you can buy, and the company seems unfazed by the alleged Radeon RX 7950 series, given that AMD has already maxed out the "Navi 31" silicon, and there are only so many things the red team can try, to beat the RTX 4090.

That said, the company is reportedly planning more SKUs based on the AD103 and AD106 silicon. The AD103 powers the GeForce RTX 4080, which nearly maxes it out. The AD104 has been maxed out by the RTX 4070 Ti, and there could be a gap between the RTX 4070 Ti and the RTX 4080 that AMD could try to exploit by competitively pricing its RX 7900 series, and certain upcoming SKUs. This creates scope for new SKUs based on cut-down AD103 and the GPU's 256-bit memory bus. The AD106 is nearly maxed out with the RTX 4060 Ti, however there's still room to unlock its last remaining TPC, use faster GDDR6X memory, and attempt to slim the vast gap between the RTX 4060 Ti and the RTX 4070.
