SilverStone Unveils CS351 Micro-ATX Case Builds Intersecting NAS+Gaming Use-cases

SilverStone today unveiled the CS351, a unique Micro-ATX case that lets you build a gaming or creation PC with hot-swappable storage, or a DIY NAS. This case is significantly larger than typical 5-bay NAS you find in the market, but that's because it packs room for a fully-fledged Micro-ATX setup, including room for a high-end triple-slot graphics card up to 36.8 cm in length. For creators, this means room for a top-grade Quadro RTX or Radeon PRO graphics card; for gamers it means room for any air-cooled RTX 3090 or RX 6900 XT.

The most striking feature has to be the five 3.5-inch hot-swappable lockable caddies, each with SATA 6 Gbps backplanes (optionally SAS 12 Gbps). The cage is ventilated from the inside with an 80 mm fan, and uses a 4-pin Molex input for power. Each of the 5 bays has an individual SATA 6 Gbps connection to your motherboard. Internal bays include one 2.5-inch mount, or the ability to mount up to seven 2.5-inch drives by eating into the room meant for graphics cards. Active ventilation includes three 40 mm rear exhausts, two 80 mm top exhausts, and an internal 80 mm conveyor for the 5-bay drive cage. Measuring 265 mm (W) x 209 mm (H) x 411 mm (D), the case weighs about 5 kg. The company didn't reveal pricing.

SilverStone HELA 2050 Power Supply is Hella Powerful, Hella Compact

SilverStone today introduced the HELA 2050 fully modular ATX power supply. This absolute unit packs over 2 kW of juice in a box that's just 18 cm in length. Typically, PSUs over 1600 W are over 20 cm in length. The 18 cm length makes this PSU fit for even mid-towers, if you've figured out what to do with that much power—a record-chasing overclock on both your swanky new Core i9-12900K plus an equally maxed out RTX 3090 or RX 6900 XT. The PSU has been certified Cybenetics Platinum for its main function, and Cybenetics Standard+ for acoustics.

The SilverStone HELA 2050 W uses a 135 mm double ball-bearing fan, and can be made to run completely fanless up to 820 W load. Connectors include one 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, one 12-pin Molex microfit 3.0 connector that you can directly plug into NVIDIA RTX 30-series Founders Edition graphics cards, eighteen 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, twelve SATA power, three 4-pin Molex, and a Berg. Under the hood, the HELA 2050 uses a single 170-Amp +12 V rail (enough juice to crank a truck). You also get active PFC, DC-to-DC switching (up to 120 W on the 5 V and 3.3 V rails), and most common electrical protections. Available toward late-December 2021, the SilverStone HELA 2050 is expected to be priced at USD $599.

SilverStone Intros SUGO 16 Cube-Type Mini-ITX Case

SilverStone introduced the SUGO 16, a cube-shaped compact Mini-ITX case, designed for gaming PCs. Available in black (model: SST-SG16B) and white (SST-SG16W) variants, the case measures 200 mm (W) x 232 mm (H) x 280 mm (D), dry-weighing 2.66 kg. It serves up room for a Mini-ITX or Mini-DTX motherboard with up to two expansion slots. A cut-out in the front lets you easily slide in your graphics card, to which the case offers a maximum clearance of 27.5 cm (14.7 cm max height). The case gives you a choice of using either an ATX or an SFX PSU. When using an ATX PSU, the maximum CPU cooler height is 8.5 cm (enough for an AIO block or low-profile fan-heatsinks); but if an SFX PSU is used, you get room for up to 17.2 cm cooler height, which is plenty for tower-type coolers.

Using an SFX power supply also creates room for a single-fan radiator to be mounted along the case's front fan vent. The PSU bay opens out toward the front, hidden behind the front panel. An AC extension leads to a receptacle at the back. The rear has a 120 mm fan vent that can hold either a 120 mm rear exhaust fan, or a 3.5-inch HDD, or a 2.5-inch SSD (as mounts). Internally, there's just the one 2.5-inch bay. Behind the motherboard tray, there's a strategically located cutout letting you access the M.2-2280 slot that's typically located at the reverse side of the PCB for modern Mini-ITX motherboards. The SilverStone SUGO 16 is expected to go on sale later this week in Asia, at a price roughly equivalent to USD $90. It will reach Europe and North America in December.

The front-panel features a sound-proofing chamber that works like a silencer. Its body panels are lined not just with sound-proofing foam, but also asphalt.

Inside, the SilverStone SETA Q1 offers room for motherboards up to SSI-EEB, E-ATX size, graphics cards up to 39.4 cm in length, CPU coolers up to 18.2 cm in height, and PSUs up to 25 cm in length. The case can hold up to two 3.5-inch drives, and four 2.5-inch ones through mounts. In addition to 7 conventionally-located expansion slots, you get two vertical ones. Front-panel connectivity includes two USB3 type-A ports, one USB3 type-C, and a headset jack. Measuring 232 mm x 493.5 mm x 490.7 mm (WxHxD), the case dry-weighs 11.64 kg. The design allows for an stack airflow cooling mechanism, with just one intake at the base, and an exhaust up top. The Micro-ATX motherboard tray is oriented such that its rear I/O points upward, letting you install your graphics card along the height of the case. Exhsust from a tower-type air CPU cooler would point upward, too. Additional cooling, in the form of two 120 mm exhausts pointing to the rear, and three to the side, provide space to mount a radiators along the side panel. The case takes in an SFL-L power supply using an internal AC cord extension. and a fixed-location AC receptacle.

Available in two color options—graphite black and matte white, the SilverStone ALTA G1M can house graphics cards up to 35 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 15.9 cm in height (if there's clearance from the side fan vents). The bottom intake fan for the cooling stack is a 180 mm SilverStone Air Penetrator that's pre-installed. Other vents include two 120 mm rear exhausts, and three 120 mm side exhausts. Up to four 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drives can be mounted in place of the side-panel radiator. The ALTA G1M is expected to be available in Asia by October 2021, and in North America and Europe in the following two months. Prices are expected to be around USD $170.

SilverStone today introduced the Hydrogon D120 ARGB a "slim" aluminium dual fin-stack CPU cooler. The cooler features a "D-type" dual fin-stack heatsink with slim fin-stacks that contribute to an overall cooler depth of just 112 mm with both fans in place (comparable to a single fin-stack cooler with a push-pull fans arrangement). The two fin-stacks are skewered by six 6 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes that make indirect contact with the CPU over a mirror-finish nickel-plated copper base. The heat pipes progress upward in a bent fashion as shown in the pictures below, to free up clearance around the memory area of your motherboard.

A pair of 120 mm, 9-blade ARGB-illuminated fans are included with the SilverStone Hydrogon D120 ARGB. Each of these take in 4-pin PWM for the main function, and 3-pin ARGB for the lighting.
