A Closer Look

Everything fits on this tiny PCB, many components strapped to either side. A CMOS battery is glued to the top of some memory chips. You'll remember that the opposite side was exposed when we removed the rear and detached the heatsink.

So the M.2 Port is hidden and requires the heatsink to be removed in order to add storage? This is a rather difficult thing to have to deal with for what should be a simple task. I'd much rather see some sort of access panel similar to what's found on laptops in order to access the M.2 interface. I still don't have a drive for testing M.2 speeds, unfortunately. It seems as though I can't put this purchase off much longer as they are now on nearly everything, aren't they? Verifying what sort of speed this port might offer could be interesting.

The board's memory is provided by some SK Hynix chips, and the MMC drive is a single IC hidden under the glued-on CMOS battery.
