- Modular Design - Patented technology helps reduce clutter by using only the cables needed. This not only increases airflow within the case, but it gives the inside of the computer a clean and professional look that is easier to manage and service.
- 80 Plus Certified - The X4 line received the coveted 80 Plus Bronze certification meeting a stringent energy efficiency performance specification. This optimization ensures that that less energy is wasted by the computer and heat and noise generated by the PSU are minimized.
- Power Protection - Short circuit protection, in-rush current protection, and thermal overload cutoff protection -all work in conjunction to protect systems from under voltage, surges and brown outs.
- Simple Installation - All X4 PSUs include thumb screws, zip ties and Velcro straps to make the build process as streamlined as possible.
- Lifetime Warranty - Register online or by sending in the included warranty card and receive a lifetime warranty.
- Reduced Acoustics - Featuring a large 135mm dual bearing cooling fan, Ultra's X4 power supplies offer reduced acoustics, increased airflow and longer life. Further, Ultra includes a silicone chassis bracket which significantly reduces vibration noises typically caused between the chassis and the fan.

Nice products. Maybe I'll buy the 1600 W
go 1600w !!!
I am not sure who actually manufactures them, but these are the first I know of with 80+ certification and bronze at that. I am glad the claim down on all the chrome they use to use on their PSU's.

Above all Ultra's Tech support and Warranty are A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++.
That sounded like an ad. :(

It has only one 12v rail. The review doesn't mention any OEMs.
Edit: Systemax, Inc. owns CompUSA and the etailer half of Circuit City too.

I got an Ultra X2 550w when it first came out. Was baffled at the modular idea and have used it ever since. That same PSU is still running an older system.
Back in the day i decided to see how far i could push it. It ran a Q6600 and 2 8800GTX's under water overclocked. Even though it got a little warm it still put out solid power. (my system at the time was nowhere near that powerful)
I heard the X3 line was junk and so i went a different route. I would be willing to bet they want to redeem their name with this line. (Well, it looks like it)
Mine feels very solid, supplies very stable power and really is great IMO. Never had a single PSU related problem with it.:rockout:
I think the others like Cosair are just about brand name more than anything else, but that's just my opinion (and not factoring in the efficiency, of course the 80+ gold are the best:p).
