Factory-Overclocked GeForce GTX 680 by MSI and EVGA get Listed

North American retailer NCIX listed two factory-overclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card models. NCIX did not list these two for pre-order, but enabled "Add to Wishlist", which probably notifies those with the product in their wishlists of when they are in stock. Both cards are priced at US $578.20 (incl. free shipping to contiguous US states). The clock speeds of MSI's card, which carries the part number "N680GTX-PM2D 2GD5/OC" was revealed to be 1056 MHz (core) with 6 GHz (GDDR5 effective memory); while those of EVGA's card, which carries the part number "02G-P4-2682-KR", were not revealed. We know from its clearly-mentioned brand extension "SuperClocked", that it's factory-overclocked.

Why is it ncix is a canadian company and yet there is no listing on these gpu's in canada? but you select the usa flag and there it is? :wtf:

We'll have to see if that 1056Mhz means: that's it's top clockablity number when Adaptive V-Sync max's out for a few milisecond (as needed) to alter and maintain frame-rate transitions to be "fluid and/or organic".

Dig deeper into the slides and you'll see. A little higher under load than the 7970 and lower at idle.

Higher on load? Hot damn my 7970s are on air now, but EK blocks just came in and the temps are 89-92c on load. Now my main problem is I have a Corsair 800D case which couldn't cool cold air lol.

You know better then. Anyway I'm sure the tests were done with the stock fan profile.
But noise under load is waaay better than the 7970.

some sources claim that nvidia AIB parters have received a new price(499$) for the 680 from nV, but no word on official RRP/MSRP yet..
apparently this further reaffirms the fact that gk104's price was initially set based on 7970, and in reality it could be sold for lesser, ie, nV has decent margins to tinker with..

Personally never use Toms for my hardware info, but this graph looks a little odd, how come the 7970 lost about 10fps?



Not hating on the GTX680, going to be grabbing one as soon as they arrive in Aus, sick of ATI, who doesn't love constant little flickers in their games! :D

Different machines, drivers, special diet to loose some FPS? Defenders of the Red Team (in this situation) or the Grean team will ALWAYS find something to spoil the success of one or another. I really don't give a rat's ass if it's 10 frames or 15. The overall result is pretty clear. Don't you think?
