MyDigitalSSD Announces SuperSSpeed TweakTown Edition SSD
MyDigitalSSD has teamed up with SuperSSpeeds to offer the fastest and top performing solid state drives on the market today. Utilizing the SandForce SF-2281 controller and SLC NAND flash, the SuperSSpeed boasts incredible speed for advanced gaming, multitasking, and multimedia computing power. Rated at 550MB/s Read and 520MB/s Write, the SuperSSpeed is proof that in this day and age, you get what you pay for, being arguably 20 times better than its nearest MLC rival at only twice the expense including accessories.
As with all MyDigitalSSD drives, the SuperSSpeed runs cool and quiet with no moving parts to create heat. Coupled with being shockproof, meaning that dropping your SSD or notebook no longer means losing your data, the SuperSSpeed it a far more durable and reliable upgrade to a traditional spinning hard drive (HDD).Why choose SLC? SLC flash chips are rated at 100K Read/Write/Erase Cycles and offer virtually zero distinction between compressible and incompressible data. Conversely, MLC flash is rated at 3-5K read/write/erase cycles and gets quite choked up when incompressible data is tossed at it.
The SuperSSpeed is backwards compatible with SATA II applications and supports most major operating systems including Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac OS10.X, and Linux.
Features:
Availability limited to 50 pieces, priced at US $275.00.

I would get something bigger for that much idc if its a special edition :p
Btw, I though SATAIII bandwidth can go up to 750MB/s, but still I cannot see any new drive out there pushing more than 550MB/s. Is because of controller only?
$5 to the first review site that breaks NDA and publishes a review before TT !
www.adata-group.com/index.php?action=product_feature&cid=3&piid=171
It's the same controller SF-2281 and offers fair performance: www.techreaction.net/2012/07/13/adata-sp900-premiere-pro-128-gb/3/
though TweakTown found an issue with it: www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4689/adata_premier_pro_sp900_0_provision_256gb_solid_state_drive_review/index14.html
So it's kind of funny that they put their badge on a very similar SSD.
I stayed away from anything Sandforce and opted for a Marvell controlled Plextor M2P (same thing as the Corsair Performance Pro), which I'm very pleased with, no issues at all so far.
@zsolt, thats the ONLY way i would buy something like this, if it were TPU branded
btw...6Gb/s=750MB/s
6Gbit/s with 8b10b encoding is 600MB/s.
Isnt the point that they r using SLC instead of MLC? I dont think they r charging double for the TT logo. GB=Gigabyte Gb=Gigabit GiB = ????
TweakTown is not writing a review, that would be unethical. I did write a preview of the drive in single and RAID 0 with working TRIM to show it off. Most likely my article will not go live before the article at RWLabs. There was no NDA. The people that bought the drive on the first day already have theirs because next day shipping was included and free.
As for OP, RAISE is turned off so the last chip is used for user data.
The Plextor M2 Pro is not the same as the Corsair Performance Pro. The hardware configuration is the same but the FW is a lot different.
This is an enthusiast product so I don't expect mainstream users to really 'get it'. SLC changes the compressible vs. incompressible slope, there is only a very small difference when moving from one to the other and both stay above 500 MB/s read and write speeds.
As for the cost, there are only a couple left. 50 people will get the fastest consumer SSD in the world. I have number 1.
The price did not double for the TweakTown logo. The price did increase with the 5-year warranty, 100K P/E cycle Intel 25nm NAND Flash (over your consumer 3K P/E cycle flash), the desktop adapter bracket that holds two SSDs, and the really nice accessory kit.
This is what happens when you let a SSD enthusiast become a product manager. All of the bases are covered and you get a kick ass drive. Price is secondary.
TRIM actually works now too which is a nice feature to have even though very few reviewers found the issue with 5.0.1 and 5.0.2.
also I want a TPU one with brushed red metallic.
get on this w1zzard I will sell my body for one.
i just got a samsung 830 128gb not to long ago my first ssd :o
