GeForce GTX 780 Ti Specifications Leaked

NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTX 780 Ti is configured to be a notch above the GTX TITAN after all, as leaked specifications sheets reveal it utilize all components available on the GK110 silicon. Specifications sheets of a Galaxy-branded GTX 780 Ti was leaked to the web by @asder00, which reveal it to feature the full complement of 2,880 CUDA cores on the GK110 silicon, which work out to 240 texture memory units (TMUs). Other specifications include 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 3 GB of memory. Clock speeds include 876 MHz core, 928 MHz GPU Boost, and 1750 MHz (7.00 GHz GDDR5-effective) memory. With these specifications on paper, the GTX 780 Ti shouldn't have too many problems beating the GTX TITAN, and with it, the Radeon R9 290X from AMD. It features everything there is on the GK110, half the memory of the GTX TITAN, but one that's faster.

Awesome a full GK110 core for the consumer market, finally! If the double point calculations are nerfed, and the memory being cut in half, then at $700 it can be justified.
I'm getting that feeling of to late to the party though, I mean isn't 20nm right around the corner? Oh well if you got it you flaunt it, and make a quick buck am I right.

Called it being a full GK110 a while ago, glad I was right.

On that note though, $700 bucks is stupidly overpriced if that is for their "base version". According to these "leaks" there will be 3GB, 6GB and 12GB (pointless) versions as well as a limited edition Black cooler edition that will look something like this (I REALLY hope so; if it will look this good, shut up and take my money Nvidia):

If Nvidia want to sell any of these cards this year, they need to price the 3GB at $500-$550 bucks and their limited edition 6GB at around $650 to no more than $699 and WITH AN UNLOCKED VOLTAGE/improved phases & VRMs (I can't stress this enough). 12GB they can charge whatever the hell they want, anybody buying one with this much VRAM will be either a muppet with too much money to spend or someone clever looking to do some BIOS magic and possibly getting an imperfect K6000 for cheap(er).

And this is all assuming it beats a R290X by a decent margin and that it is not gimped in any way. Because even without the Mantle patch, it has quite a way to go to beat a R290X IMHO:

Oh and these better come with rebates of some sort in the UK. Since Nvidia can't be arsed to bring their Shield to the UK, they can give us that $100 equivalent off the price of their GPUs. Without it + some free games, this GPU is way overpriced.

Interesting! The new 780TI looks like a winner to me. But here's the issue I'm having with all of this: Does this 10% more or less performance matter at all? is there a point in buying say a Titan over a 780 in the first place, or even buying a 780 over a GTX 770 or a R280X?

A single glance at the kind of games we're getting in the near future is enough to answer that.
In this phase of the video games evolution everything is stagnant. The only exciting thing, at least something to get excited about, is Mantle and Heterogeneous queuing on AMD platforms.
The ability for a vector processor and a scalar processor to communicate without having to go through the OS, let alone a high-level API, is really dazzling, and the fact that both processors can have full access to the same addressable memory is really a true step forward that will help revolutionize game development.

Indeed but people still buy them so nVidia looses noting for price gouging :banghead:

WTB real competition instead of this price fixing duopoly :nutkick:

If you're buying a $500+ card for BF4 then sure. Other than that, both cards in most titles are already within a few percentage points of each other. If the object is benchmarking or being able to claim that you notice a gameplay difference of a few frames per second, then all good - PCGH's 290X reviewhas already supplied an insight into what the added clock might bring ( without ofc the 7% shader and 17% internal bandwidth increase)

You do realize that if Nvidia lopped $100 off the price the forums will again explode with the "Non-GTX Titan/780 Owners Club" feverishly posting how the new price is a kick in the teeth for those who bought GK 110 cards at their original price points. Besides, if AMD have no problem selling the Air Raid Siren Edition 290X for $550-580, then $699 + games for something a lot quieter, a little faster, and with higher resale potential a year down the line will undoubtedly find willing buyers.

Apart from benching, I doubt you'd see any real world differences between a 780 and 780Ti except a healthier bank balance. Achievable image quality would be identical in the vast majority of cases. A GTX 770 or 280X is going to struggle at 1440P/1600P (and some 1920x1080/1200) gaming. If you're not into max image quality as the be-all-and-end-all, then the lower tier cards offer much better value for money.

I agree with your logic and interesting benchmarks! 780Ti looks like a waste of $150 since 290X is already quite powerful. 290x loses in nvidia optimized games while winning in amd optimized ones. so better option is 780 or 290x. some folks would buy it anyway just for bragging rights that their card is the fastest in the world. lol

As usual on 28nm. It has been exactly three years ago when a fully functional GF110 was launched under the name GTX580 for $500. It took Nvidia three bloody years, a $500 mid-range card, a crippled $1000 flagship and a $650 even more crippled GTX780 to release the true successor of GF110, the GK110 aka GTX780Ti. For just... $700.

I used BF4 because
A. The game just came out and it's upgrade season for anyone with lacking GPUs, myself included -- it's already THE multiplayer game on PC this year (COD Ghosts is a non-issue and Titanfall isn't due 'til next year) GTA V is about the only game that may follow suit in BF4s success on PC (multiplayer wise)
B. Even if Mantle never shows up or is a complete fail, R290X has a healthy performance gain over the GK110 cards, with room to improve with driver updates. If Mantle actually delivers what it promises, a 290X will add more performance to an already much better value for money card for this title.

Am still waiting to see how this will play out, but BF4 performance is going to be the biggest deciding factor for me by far and I'm sure a lot of people will agree. Any games older than this won't be a problem (except maybe Metro LL/Crysis 3 but they're mostly SP games which don't need the extra frame rates as much as competitive MP games like BF4) for way lower tier cards anyway, let alone these $500+ behemoths.

I know it sounds bad now, but it will be much worse with Maxwell -- there was a huge backlash/shitstorm over the GTX 680 having the mid-range codename, so Nvidia's solution will be to butcher the familiar naming scheme altogether to something unrecognizable -- mark my words. They've already started it with the GK180 and it's only going to get worse. For all we know, this time next year, we may be buying $100 value designed cards at $600 without knowing any better because it will be called GM101 or something similarly stupid.

Dear NVIDIA, you don't fight a 4GB 4K ready card with a 3GB card. That's a big mistake.

This isn't mean to be a market success, it's just to strip the "Fastest GPU" crown back from AMD. If they can make an extra $100 bucks out of every sale, then why not? It's not like there will be a lot of these available for consumers, nVidia would rather sell them as Tesla cards.

Titan gets EOLed in 3... 2... 1...

Expect a 290X Ghz Edition announcement in the following weeks. No reference design, a la 7990. Then nVidia will release a Boost vbios for 780Ti and so on.

OC-Rage has his location as Iran. My guessing is that their grasp of English is somewhat better than your grasp of Persian. Oh, and BTW, it's English not english :shadedshu

Is there really any need for you to act like an arse, or are TPU offering bonus points for acting like a junior cyberwarrior ?

Simply pointing out the irony of someone bashing another for their lack of skills in English, yet being unable to realize that their own usage of the word is grammatically incorrect.
A sophisticated concept to grasp for some...apparently.
