PS/2 ports lower latency, bios boot bypass, nkey rollover. Plus many still use old school keyboards and custom built keyboards comes with PS/2 connections.
Was waiting for "budget offer" ,but now I made my choice.
I agree with zo0lykas - not everything should have RGB. Every manufacturer says the same - "leading blah blah blah...".
Seriously, they didn't even provide all the details on the coming motherboards, that are supposed to be available on 7. 7. - In two days' time. Why the hell are they calling this a launch? And why isn't TPU more critical about this? You could call it "paper laubch", but even that would require you to publish all the details of your coming product, including price...
Extra USB ports for such periphials is fine but there have also been issues in the past concerning USB controller failures making the board entirely useless if it relies solely on USB to even use it at all - I've ran into that before (Crosshair V) and had to do an RMA of a board over it.
All it means is you have options for either type of periphial and more choices is a good thing, esp when you consider PS2 has never had issues with failures (Proven reliable) like USB controllers crapping out resulting in what I had happen.
You could still use it to do your RMA or even just order another board if you had to because for some folks, the singular machine is all they have - Would make it a real pain to do so otherwise.
This one only has the one PS2 anyway so it's nothing to worry about - If you don't like PS2, don't use it but the option if it's ever needed it's there and that's a good thing.
As for ASRock being THE leading manufacturer, I doubt it myself but there is also no doubt they have risen by far above where they were before.
Get a life and do not rant about added things.
And I think I still have a mouse somewhere around... Besides, if they can't add one PS/2 port on a rather expensive motherboard...
ASRock introduced teeny-weensy very useful CLR CMOS button on their back panel since x370, I'm glad they adding more feature like Q-Flash in their x570 lineup.On the other hand my USB peripheral are growing, and i'm still doubt USB header and/or USB HUB.
That said, i made my choice.

It seems my post ruffled so many feather :D
There are others too that lack it but the majority of boards out there do have at least one, a few such as the Z270 Apex IX has both with another Z270 board lacking it entirely, namely the Maximus IX Hero.

Also need to do a slight correction/clarification, just went out and looked at the old Crosshair V and yes, it has one but as said once the USB controller went out that was it.
@1d10t Yes it's your choice and consequense, you've every right to make it and that's fine. All I'm saying is it's not a good idea to make everything so dependent on one specific thing, esp when it's fact such has had issues before in the way described.
The 1st pcie connector looks like it is slightly higher than the second giving relief for extra connectors good design
