Intel Core i9-12900KS Starts Selling on Newegg for $799

Intel started selling its new flagship desktop processor, the special edition Core i9-12900KS, on Newegg for USD $799. Based on the highest bins of the "Alder Lake-S" C0 silicon, the chip has the same configuration as the i9-12900K, with 8 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 30 MB of L3 cache; but higher clock speeds. The chip offers maximum Turbo Boost frequencies of 5.50 GHz on the P-cores, compared to 5.20 GHz for the regular i9-12900K. The Newegg listing mentions the i9-12900KS to have the same power limits as the i9-12900K, with 125 W processor base power (PBP) and 241 W maximum turbo power (MTP), and not the previously reported 150 W PBP with 260 W MTP.

Update 20:50 UTC: And the listing on Newegg has vanished, which probably has to do with Intel's embargo ending only next week. Sales are supposedly starting not before April.

TheDeeGeeWho's crazy enough to buy from newegg after GNs video though?
Why not?I'm pretty sure there won't problems with expensive items such as a flagship CPU.

Hi,
800.us isn't exactlly a smart buy seeing 12900k is now 550.us.

Last item I bought from newegg was z490 apex
If asus wasn't factory sealing mother boards now I would not of bought it from the egg.

Metroidno reviews yet on the 5800xv3d, amd said 15%-20%, some people leaked 9% overall. So that means intel is faster on single thread yet and with around 2x more power on multithread, it loses badly to amd, I have a 5900x and only a 20% ipc rock solid will make me upgrade. Let's see what zen4 will bring us. I would not touch on this 12900ks, too expensive and still a furnace.
That 9% was in a single benchmark: GEEKBENCH. By saying: "some people leaked 9%", you're making it seem like it involves multiple people in various benchmarks when that's not the case at all, it was a single benchmark in geekbench which isn't going to see the benefit that gaming will,, which is the whole point of the 5800x3d. It's also important to note that AMD has ONLY claimed the performance increase of 15% is in gaming, so until gaming benchmarks are released, we can't verify AMD'S claims.
TurmaniaI have not watched GN after the EVGA brickin controversy and their biased views depending on sponsors. So what is it about?
In all seriousness, I'd definitely like to see any evidence of a GamersNexus video where they were biased, obviously you've seen such a thing for you to have such an opinion. I've only known them to be neutral, so if you've seen itherwise, definitely post a link please.

Anyone noticing similarities in approach to attaining high performance hardware between Intel and Nvidia? More power = Better. Brute force is not better and it certainly is not innovation which is the true path forward.

Brute force approach is definitely not going to save the planet.

they're not unique, i bet if gamers nexus investigated every big PC supplier they would find things they don't like about it, its just the way those bushiness work, you deal with stupid consumers for long enough, you'd be forced to do things to not deal with them anymore

$800 is kinda pricey, and raptor lake and zen4 are looming in the very near future

Hi,
Thanks
Likely not
Many have been hosed by newegg on mother board rma so not uncommon

Over using thermal paste well GN is well known for that one too

I've seen GN's plastic cpu storage case he or who ever puts them in it don't clean the cpu's before putting them in it and
Every video preview shows applying TG thermal paste like most apply tooth paste on a tooth brush

Like the people thinking eating a 4-600.us board would taste good though
Think the newegg just did it to the wrong fellow this time

Sure, GN might be guilty of thermal paste atrocities lol, but this had nothing to do with that.

If you watch all 4 videos, (takes significant time, I know) you'll see that this problem was endemic to Newegg as GN received many hundreds of reports from people of similar things happening to them. Clearly they were systematically screwing over customers until they picked on the wrong one, GN, as you say, when their scam then unravelled.

Hi,
Yeah I can see both sides without all the videos
Newegg is not somewhere I would buy a lot of stuff from especially not mother boards only exception I already stated asus factory seals mother boards now or at least z490 so I took a chance on it seeing amazon didn't have one.

I usually only buy memory if sold and shipped by egg it's always a lot cheaper than amazon/...

What is the MSRP for this? is it really $799 or did newegg put their inflated price on it?

After his stupid video for "Bad products" I wont ever trust him. In his review of 11900k he complains how it is just expensive 11700k with better bin, later in "Bad products" this spoiled boy complain how even if 11900k was 200$ it still would be "bad product". And even dare to put 11900k in same category as leaking AIOs and exploding PSUs. He has very distorted view of the things and tend to not to look at things logically because of his own biases and emotions

Sounds like we have a disgruntled 11900K owner. That CPU was a disaster according to everyone. Get over it.

Hi,
Yeah 11900k was purely 2 less cores than 10900k and intel trolling amd for the highest single core scores
In other words should of never existed but intel being intel never saw a sucker $$ they didn't want

It's ok there's no need to apologise for Newegg. Hard evidence of their wrongdoing is on those videos I linked to.

Ryzen owner and no, I don't care for Intel, 11900k was trash actually and my problem is not because GN speak bs for Intel, but because speak BS

The cover of the video for 11600k, CPU with MSRP $262

GN explain how 11900k is not bad cpu, but badly priced
watch at 19:30

GN explain how 11900k was bad product and even if it was $200, not the actual price minus 200, but with real MSRP of $200, it again would be a bad product
watch at 3:40
