What's KLEVV RAM like? I see more sellers stocking it and it's alway rock-bottom pricing.

Is that a loss-leader to build a name for themselves or is it just lowest-bin, dirt-cheap RAM?

It's neither really. It's, as pointed out SK HYNIX so it's an arm of a very good brand. They started as gaming. Think Microns Crucial. Their original stuff was in massive heatsinks with LEDs including their SSD drives. It was good stuff. But it did not do well and the RAM market on the gaming/bling side of thing has shed and killed brands like crazy for often stupid reasons.

So KLEVV is now like the generic Crucial stuff you buy but it's Hynix not Micron. Personally I like the plain and simple look! Their products also vary. You'll get some KLEVV, Crucial, or Samsung Plain Jane looking products that are amazing and others that are just that, plain but do exactly what they should.

They are not crap at all.

Good to know. I use a ton of Hynix RAM in servers already, I wasn't aware this was their consumer label.

It's a mess. They are owned by a subsidiary of SK, SK Hynix is also an SK subsidiary (if confusing they are Korean). SK itself is a mess. But this is an SK company using SK Hynix chips, under the SK umbrella with SK know how. Due to how the company is organized it's confusing due to how subsidaries work. But this same situation applies to multiple companies where you can get similar products. IE, it's perfectly safe and reliable Hynix RAM from SK.

SK Hynix launches KLEVV DDR RAM lineup, targeted at high-end gamers
There could be a very important new player in the high-end RAM market, with the SK Hynix linked 'KLEVV' brand, aimed at gamers.

Update: SK Hynix has reached out to us to clarify that it does not own or run the new KLEVV brand. The SK Hynix rep said: "KLEVV has NO relationship with SK Hynix Inc and is NEVER owned or launched by SK Hynix Inc.. KLEVV is a brand name under the company ESSENCORE (which is a subsidiary of SK C&C)".

So in summary, it would seem that this is mid-range, average ram, with a no-frills approach (as in no rainbow circus pukefest), which should work as well as most others in the same range....

But as usual, some reviews/tests would be nice to see before making any buying decisions :)

You know all the new crazy DDR5 kits coming out with speeds of 7000+? They're using the same chips as these, Hynix A-die.

It's the same chips as the fancy pants RAM just not covered in RGB and heatsinks. And you're buying it directly from an SK company not some party that kit bashed it into a thing. It's going to work just fine and is probably going to OC just fine.

I remember back in the DDR3 days samsung released plain DDR3 on a green PCB with no heatsink and the stupid things clocked like crazy because it was the same samsung chips companies like Corsair were charging double the price for with LEDs and heatsinks. Just samsung sold it at JDEC speeds and didn't bother with the bling. Same exact concept here.

You can trust this stuff.
