Campfire Audio Launches Orbit: Their First True Wireless Earphones

Hot on the heels of releasing Trifecta - Campfire Audio's most ambitious wired IEM to date - the team has now decided to turn their attention to the world of wireless. Introducing Orbit, Campfire Audio's first ever true wireless earphone. Orbit is the culmination of years of meticulous design and engineering, resulting in a true wireless like no other. Every part of the process has been approached with passion and creativity to produce something unique - in typical Campfire Audio fashion. From December 7th, Orbit will be available to buy for $249/£249 from campfireaudio.com, Amazon and selected retailers worldwide.

Campfire Audio are masters of their craft, known in the high-end audio space for their bombastic designs, eye-catching artwork and most importantly - sound quality that transports you to another dimension. Orbit brings Campfire Audio's experience and love for what they do to the true wireless market - a fresh and well needed arrival. This is a completely new design for Campfire Audio, with Orbit's two-tone housings shaped in a way that makes them extremely comfortable. The design is also robust, with a stainless-steel sound nozzle and grille. This not only looks impressive; this adds to the solid feel of these earbuds. The touch controls are easy to use, and taking calls is equally impressive due to the built-in high-quality microphone.
The case is also two-tone on the outside, with a bright green interior. Open the lid and the earphones are securely in place and easy to remove. There is also a battery level indicator so you can easily see how much playtime is left. An easy to use app is available for Orbit, with a number of added features. The app allows you to customise Orbit's touch control functionality, as well as find the right sound setting with its builtin 7-band EQ and presets. You can also install future firmware updates easily for an enhanced user experience. Campfire Audio has developed custom full range 10 mm dynamic drivers for the Orbit, with a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) film diaphragm. The choice of driver materials makes for a dynamic listen packed with depth and low-end power thanks to the 10 mm driver. Then the LCP diaphragm adds the finishing touch, effortlessly providing clarity, space and energy for an overall engaging and rhythmic listen.

As well as the impressive drivers, Orbit also comes packed with impressive technology. Bluetooth 5.2 provides a stable connection with AAC and AptX Adaptive codec support, handling 24bit/48KHz audio. To really set Orbit apart from its competition, Campfire Audio has managed to squeeze in up to 8.5 hours playtime from a single charge, with an additional 30 hours of reserve playtime from its case - numbers unheard of at this level. There is also USB-C and Qi wireless charging for easy top-up.
Campfire Audio has included a number of foam and silicone eartips (S, M, L) in order to achieve that perfect fit. You also get a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, user manual and the coveted Campfire Audio pin badge. With Orbit, the Campfire Audio experience can now be enjoyed by a wider audience - inviting a new variety of audio lovers along with them into the ever growing world of wireless.

aside the playtime and stainless steel nozzle, they look utterly and completely meh...

let's hope the sound redeem them ...

Zinc aloy stylish build can't lie ...

ok 3 time less battery duration (actually also 3 time cheaper) and a 2.8mm smaller driver, but ... this is bombastic and eycatching (without the Cringe worthy story of "The Daring and Amazing Adventures of Captain Francis Aristarchus" )
half price, you also have the Sirius Pro which have also a 7.2mm DD plus a BA from Knowles and a carry case that can act as a bottle opener

for the price, they better sound like the next best thing in TWS audio ... (and i guess they won't... or maybe they will after re reading @VSG review of the Honeydew ... still too overpriced imho ) i guess stainless steel is expensive ... (hint, brass is better for audio nozzle, personal and subjective opinion nonetheless )

There aren't many colors to choose from when trying to make these "invisible", unfortunately.

I must be the only person who thinks these look super cool. I actually like that they used a unique design instead of the standard airpod rippoff every sound company has.

I can definitely see the appeal, my brother at home is an avid 3D printer guy and a lot of the things that he gets out the printer (an Ender 6 modified so heavily you'd think it joined the Borg) have a similar vibe/aesthetic to this. But..
that fit is a bit reminiscent of the Panasonic RZ-S500 to me. A relatively short and a bit stubby nozzle, followed by a pretty bulky body. I know that you gotta put the guts in somewhere, but cramming it all in there cannot be pleasing after like two hours.
Plus, $249..that's right up there against the APP2. Putting my bias against Campfire aside, I'm not sure they honestly have what it takes to compete with that. Maybe with a lower tier, something like the Buds2..
I do really like the case, though. Wish it was smaller.
