This Week in Gaming (Week 50)

Welcome to a new addition to TechPowerUp! where we give you an overview of new games that are set to launch in the coming week. This will be a weekly feature and it'll contain a short blurb about each game, some screenshots and maybe a video as well. We're open to feedback about this format and we'll make adjustments as we go along.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition / This week's AAA title / Wednesday December 14
Enhanced with the power of next-gen consoles and modern PC hardware in mind, the upcoming release of CD Projekt Red's award-winning role-playing game will feature dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original. These include ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, as well as a variety of mods integrated into the experience, among many others. Along with new additional content inspired by The Witcher series from Netflix, these will be covered next week in a dedicated REDstreams event on Twitch, where the studio will present gameplay from the next-gen version of the game.
Wavetale / Monday December 12
In Wavetale, you begin your adventure in the open sea and the decaying archipelago of Strandville where you meet teenage girl Sigrid, who lives on this small island with her stern grandmother. Sigrid befriends an enigmatic shadow that provides her with the power to walk on water and allows her to uncover the well-kept secrets of this mysterious aqueous land.
Crisis Core—Final Fantasy VII—Reunion / Tuesday December 13
The story of Crisis Core—Final Fantasy VII—Reunion begins seven years before the events of Final Fantasy VII and follows Zack Fair, a young Shinra Soldier operative. As his adventure unfolds, he discovers the dark secrets of Shinra's experiments and the monsters they create.
Master of Magic / Tuesday December 13
Recruit and lead mighty armies of elves, dragons, dwarves, and orcs and support them in tense tactical turn-based battles with a wizard's arsenal of powerful magic spells. Choose your school of magic, perform rituals, and excel in the dark arts. Victory goes to those wizards who use their expanding power to dominate the lands and ultimately rule the world. In the end, there can only be one Master of Magic.
Blacktail / Thursday December 15
Experience the retelling of Baba Yaga's myth and hunt down the elusive images of your past in an enchanted forest. As you learn to master your bow and unleash spells, the moral choices you make will guide you down the path to become a good or evil witch.
Snow Folks / Friday December 16
Discover the magic of a winter wonderland with Snow Folks! You can build snow forts, houses and anything you can imagine. Get creative with your friends in the ultimate snowball fight, or play solo and create your own snow day adventure!

I know there will be those that complain "this isn't tech!" as if they can't just scroll past front page stories that don't interest them, but as someone who doesn't have a lot of time to follow gaming news instead of just playing them in that spare time, I appreciate the round-up!

Hi,
There is a gaming section but no gaming news section it's all news
www.techpowerup.com/forums/forums/games.20/

Sad thing is witcher is the most interesting

Would be nice if there was a real gaming news section so all would be easier to find.

Master of Magic? Is that a reboot of the 1994 game? That thing was solid, will keep an eye.

I welcome this.

I all ready own the witcher 3, so then I am finished with Wolfenstein:Youngblood I play now. I am going to spend some of my Christmas holiday with witcher 3 upgrade version. I never really finished the game, so with a big update. I think it's a good time to do so now.

Witcher 3 update will be very nice. Wouldn't mind another go through. Hopefully there will be a mod to put the original Nilfgaardian armor back in. That crap "armor" from the show is just awful.

At first I thought, man they used really awful screenshots to show this off, but then saw they were for the Switch. I've been wanting to do another playthrough for months but have kept from doing so to wait for the update.

Oh yeah. Master of Magic was my pick at first glance at the games. Witcher maybe a bit as well. Curious to see the new looks. (The pine trees look very cool in that picture)
That is a brilliant idea @TheLostSwede with the new games section. Keep it going bro.

Not a big fan of a lot of "gaming media", for various reasons.

Master of Magic... one of my favorite games back in the 90's. Hope the new edition will live up to the original. :)
