Reference NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Rumored to Launch at $749
According to the latest rumor coming from Moore's Law is Dead, the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 could have a higher MSRP than expected, and could launch at $749. Yesterday, another rumor pointed out that NVIDIA is splitting the reviews for the GeForce RTX 4070 on two dates, with reference models that are sticking to MSRP going out on April 12th, and custom, higher-priced versions, a day later, on April 13th. The same date, April 13th, is when the GeForce RTX 4070 should hit retail shelves.
According to Moore's Law is Dead, the MSRP for reference versions will be set at $749.99, which is a bit more than earlier expected, and just $50 less than the launch MSRP for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. The custom versions, or "premium" as some now called them, could start at $799.99.The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is also based on the AD104 GPU, as the RTX 4070 Ti, but has 46 streaming multiprocessors (SMs), leaving it with 5,888 CUDA cores enabled. On the other hand, it is rumored to come with the same memory configuration as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, featuring 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit memory interface. The TGP is set at 200 W.
The performance is expected to land somewhere between the RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3080, or pretty much in line with the RX 6900 XT. Of course, a 50% bump in the launch price compared to the predecessor, the RTX 3070, leaves a rather sour taste.

What I suspect is this is a false rumor done to do two things.
Help sell current stock of the RTX 3xxx series since this launch would effect current sales of the RTX 3080/3070/3060 ti. I.e If the RTX 4070 does launch in the 550 range, how do you think the current sales of the RTX 3xxx series I mention. They need to move maximum volume for those cards since 1 month launch is still a decent frame of cards to be sold.
Secondly is the lower expectations of pricing so if this card launch on the higher size like $599 peoples expectations are lower and the pricing of the RTX 4070 seems better than it is.
This is just getting silly.
AMD is milking us just as NVIDIA does,
just like Intel does,
just like any AIB partner does.
I first wanted 7900xt, but after seeing what happened to my friend,
I wanted a 4070ti.
Now after thinking it through,
neither AMD nor NVIDIA deserves the money.
Because they are both giving a lot less than I'd pay for.

Also its efficiently isn't even very impressive it uses 91% of the power of a 4080 and loses by 25%
TBH, i'm not surprised! I had the 4070 estimated @ $700 with AIBs hitting ~$750/+. So i'm not gonna pretend i'm shocked at this speculated revelation... anyone expecting otherwise should have seen it coming with NVIDIAs **8* segment MSRP (as well as **9*). If they're taking a drunk p-i-s-s at the top, its gonna trickle down tier by tier.
Even $500 for these mid tier modern day calamities is quite an ask but something I wouldn't mind forking out on especially if it achieves the desired performance in specific games. Not that i'm interested, i was targeting a 4080 somewhere in the ~$800 region but the MSRP completely put me off with 40-series.... now simply not interested. NO MORE GPU UPGRADE!! NO MORE GPU UPGRADE!!
My used-bought 2080 TI is getting me by comfortably but could do better. Theres a solid chance for picking up a used 3080 for as little as £350 GBP -well thats the offer i put on the table for a card sitting untouched for several months and the 2 tits who could easily sell it to me without feeling a pinch just need to come out of "we might need it" and move on. Actually i do have access to it... i could just pull it out and put it to use.
All-praises to NVIDIA for being one of the most successful and hard-profiting hardware businesses in the world... a claw shackeling grip on the GPU market like you've never seen it.
but as a life-long consumer deserving better.... NVIDIA can stick the four zero seventy 4070 times up their own backside (as far as I'm concerned).
Most likely at 649pounds/699dollars like the 3080.
And practically it's a joke since it will perform 99% toa 3080 level without the DLSS3.
nVidia put a very high price for the DLSS3, i believe because they had it ready.
AMD is 2 years behind in everything now. Even if we forget about the driver issues, the RT performance, the non existent CUDA alternative, the non nvenc alternative etc. etc., every feature comes with a year delay at best.
Don't forget Nvidia wanted to call the 4070ti the 4080 12GB lmao and charge and extra $100 for it glad even they realized how stupid this would have made an already questionable product.
Only someone who is an extremely biased Nvidia fanboy can they look at this product with a straight face and think wow it's such a good deal I should get me one.
When Intel gets their drivers under control, they will also jump on the money boat.
Makes no sense for them to give same performance for a lot less than the competition.
AMD might just got another gold ticket chance in the mid-range. They just need to drop their parents and 200$ of the RX7xxx equivalent to the joke that is 4070.
Anyways hopefully the rumors are wrong and it ends up being priced at 500-600 usd that still might not make it very good but at least it won't be also more expensive than the previous gens 80 card while performing almost the same.
Wishing mining starts back up is what nvidia and amd wants the back doors have cobwebs growing
Rumors, just get a good laugh until it actually happens.
3080 was what? 700 dollars, now 4080 is 1200 dollars.
Here in the EU it's even worse.
I saw 4080 going with a tough 2000+ Euro price tag.
Well, once upon a time I wanted to upgrade...
Now I will just wait until my 1660 dies.
A few days ago nVidia removed some Ampere gpus from their shop. That's a first indication that gradually we are moving towards the Ampere replacement. But not yet.
The 4070 at 649pounds/699$ is still bad when a 3080 offered the same performance at the same price 2.5 years ago.
And yes, DLSS3 is what we pay for this gen but it shouldn't cost that much.
"We can increase prices further. Please calculate higher price points for the next series" Oh my.....:banghead:
I will do with my money whatever the hell I please
As for the drivers; I had black screen problem I had to fix on my friends 7900xt
Go and point your head to the real brick wall.
I sometimes surprise myself but damn
to these people it's all about "ngreedia" when AMD does the same stuff with inferior product
They all know everything there is to know when they know so damn little
I had a real problem with a real 7900xt the other day
It was a nightmare to fix
Now that same person decided to take it back for a 4070ti
using his old 980 as a replacement
Who would buy something that can break with a new driver install?
12Gigs of Vram for about a grand?
le: I am sorry.
You seem to want to pay $1000 for a card and also in need to justify this buy first to yourself. Well, good luck with that.
For me, to give them my money, they will first have to provide a sub $400-$500 mid range card that can be considered good value and I mean REALLY good value, not the lesser bad option, then I will happily buy. Going from my sub $300 budget rule, to over $400 is already a win for those corporations. But I do set a limit and that isn't going to be $1000 or more. It's not a financial problem, I can buy an RTX 4090 and just let it playback YouTube videos, I just don't want to feel (personally) as a complete stupid by paying $1000+ for a graphics card.
