Humble Bundle has just announced its monthly Humble Choice game bundle, a monthly selection of games that Humble Bundle members can download and keep forever for free. While the intention is obviously to tempt gamers to sign up for a recurring Humble Bundle membership, there's nothing stopping you from signing up for a month for $11.99 to claim the Humble Choice bundle and then cancelling the membership.

For October, there are eight new games joining the Humble Choice bundle, ranging from colorful, action-packed, third-person RPGs to indie simulation games, and meditative puzzle exploration games. The main attractions of the October Humble Choice bundle, though, have to be Remnant II, Persona 5 Strikers, Jusant, and Dome Keeper, which have each earned positive reviews both from critics and gamers alike.At its regular price, Jusant alone is more than double the price of a month's subscription to Humble Bundle, at $24.99. Jusant is a slow, meditative action game with a heavy emphasis on puzzle and platforming mechanics. Players ascend a tall mountain spire using mountaineering gear, while solving environmental puzzles along the way and learning about the lost civilization that previously inhabited the mountainside.


On the near-opposite end of the spectrum, Remnant II is a full-fledged third-person action RPG with Souls-like mechanics. In Remnant II, the last survivors of humanity must face off against nightmarish creatures and "god-like bosses" to prevent nefarious forces from bringing about the end of everything. Remnant II features single-player and co-op gameplay, and normally costs as much as $49.99 on Steam.


Persona 5 Strikers takes a livelier approach to the action RPG genre, thanks to its flamboyant anime-inspired characters and its Japanese cityscapes bursting with color. The story of Persona 5 Strikers follows a group known as the Phantom Thieves as they journey through Japan on a mission to stop the corruption that is threatening the country. The style and combat of Persona 5 Strikers are unquestionably highlights in the game, with plenty of variation and fast-paced action to be had. Ordinarily, Persona 5 Strikers comes in at a price of $50.99 on Steam.


Dome Keeper is a survival game with charming pixel graphics that combines roguelike elements and resource management and base building mechanics. Players must fend off an alien barrage while collecting resources from the tunnels beneath the same base. Successful defense and survival means advancing your technological prowess and defensive and offensive abilities. Dome Keeper usually costs $17.99 on Steam and Humble Bundle.


Tallied together, the aforementioned games alone cost $142.97, making the $11.99 price for the October Humble Bundle membership a tempting offer. These and the other games in the Humble Choice bundle are free to keep for Humble Bundle subscribers until the end of October, and there is no obligation to continue the membership after claiming the Humble Choice games.
