Post-release follow up
Hello everyone! Thomas here (from Goblinz Studio), we'd like to communicate with you about the launch itself, and more importantly what's to expect from now on!

Firstly, we of course want to thank you all about your interest in the game. You've been a lot of people making your own movies and hitting the top of the charts! You've been a lot to leave kind words about the game, and it is really heartwarming, so thank you again. Now, we also know that there's been things that are bothering you, or that you would want to be added to the game, and I wanted to update you on this. Note that this is about short term, and that we'll communicate later on further things that will come for The Executive. So here we go!

Broken saves
Some of you have reported broken saves. This is now fixed and should not require you to update the game. Just to be sure, if you opened Steam before 1pm CET, you can reboot Steam. As the fix was a change to Steam configuration for our game, it might be necessary to be a bit more transparent with you, our Cloud save system was limited in size, and this limit was set too low, making the save system weird/not working at all past this limit. We've now increased this limit to a point that I'd be very surprise you reach (that is the maximum authorized by the way, so please don't take that as a challenge.

We know this is a pretty big issue and that save issues are the most frustrating ones, so we want to deeply apologize for this. During our tests, we restart a lot of saves and thus had most of the time pretty light (or at least, light enough) saves for this not to happen during the tests. Once again, we're sorry about this, and this should now be fixed.

Money not being displayed
This will require the smallest number of words; there's an issue with currency not being correctly displayed on bigger screens. We've found the issue, and this will be fixed in the next patch, that should be coming very soon. We'll keep you posted!

Other bugs
We're also aware of other bugs that you've reported on the forums or by mail—thanks again for this! We're working on it. Some of them (as much as possible!) might also be in the first patch, but since we're still investigating, I'd rather not make any promises; you'll be able to check what's been fixed in the patch notes coming with the update. For example the end game screen getting frozen on the first years of the summary is also getting investigated as we speak, we'll do our best to plug the fix with our patch!

Speaking of End Game
This is the last thing we wanted to communicate; we've seen all your feedback—I do think it is the main feedback about the game—about the ending being abrupt, and a bit deceptive. We'll be adding an endless mode to The Executive! Now as you might guess, adding this kind of feature does take time, as it wasn't really planned. I won't give you any specific date as a lot of things can happen when you're developing things, but I still want to give you a general idea. So while this is subject to change, we'd love to have it out in a couple of weeks. After fixing the nasty bugs that remain, it's going to be our top priority!
Also, in case you want to communicate more directly with the dev team, there's a Discord server for the game! From me and the whole dev team, thanks again for all your feedback, and for playing The Executive!

It’s amazing how two decades have passed and nobody has surpassed the absolute banger of the manager/tycoon genre that is The Movies. Like, it was genuinely a game ahead of its time. Lionhead gone, but not forgotten. Fuck MS for that, by the way.
