How broken is this game? The previous patch also fixed 1600 bugs.

Not much. It runs well. It just had a ton of graphics glitches all over the place. They really weren't noticeable until one looked right at them. All minor, nothing game breaking.

'bout the same as was the first STALKER at launch from what I've seen, though I haven't bought it personally.
Playable, just some glitches now and then.
GSC just likes to make very-very long lists of bugfixes just to make it look more impressive than it actually is :D (which may or may not include duplicates, and crediting themselves with repackaged community-made patches). I just hope they keep up their other old habit of supporting the game for a couple of years, cause even smaller patches will add up over time to make the game even more polished.

Yeah tbh its totally playable even tho I'm not a big fan of the Stalker games in general.
Installed it on day 1 since it was on Gamepass and I have a year long sub 'gifted to me' and with some reasonable tweaking it was fine even on my system/could play the game with no real issues. 'I still have it installed so I might check it out later like whats the difference now'

I think the title should read, Stalker 2 early access gets updated.

That's how I feel about most new games these days, which is why I always wait like a year at least to play anything. lol

I’ve been waiting since when released A-Life 2.0 was deactivated by devs. Then a few weeks after that they instituted a spawn system to try to make it feel alive like it is supposed to while they still tried to fogure out how to make A-Life work.

It’s funny they were able to implement a world that felt living in the previous series but having trouble now with much more powerful computers. Their temporary solution at launch was to just not turn it on until it is ready. Now I see they mention some A-Life 2.0 fixes. Does this mean they have finally turned it on, or just some workarounds? That’s what I’m waiting on with getting the game.

Unreal Engine is a curse upon gaming. Hope someone makes a better engine soon. Even the old CryEngine still looks okay today and runs 10 times better.

Every game that uses Unreal Engine runs like crap and demands huge system hardware. Basically everyone needed to upgrade just because of this crap engine.

I heard that Avowed has a good implementation of Unreal 5.3(?!) I'm wondering if something like hardware ray tracing will give them more headroom for A-Life? It would be interesting if they did something similar to Star Citizens "Quantum" simulation system (probability volumes etc).

It will also be interesting to see what sort of legs the new game has.

And this is why I’m buying games 1-2 years after the release…

Most of the fixes are fairly minor. Not all players have all the problems fixed on the list. If a game can only be considered done when all the bugs are gone almost no games would ever be considered done.

Was able to finish it on Gamepass without major patches on release. I guess, if you don't try hard to find the bugs, and play it straightforward, it will treat you right :D. I had two sidequests that were locked out though.. but main quest was able to finish smoothly

Had an issue with main quest again, and couldn't upgrade my armour due to bugs. That's after 60 Hours of game time. Pretty pissed and many said you had to restart the game after the patches to have it fixed.

The game ran fine for me stright from the off. I have had no errors that i could see. Was a big patch, 136gb for me, can't do no harm though can it. The game is pretty good imo. If you don't have the game or haven't even tried it, how can you comment on how broken or unplayable it is?

You're one in a million. Unless you're a millenial and have known nothing else than game with bugs, so you might call those "features".:D

still one million bugs

It was also in Doom Eternal before it left a trace on the monitor, and after a while it returned to its old self. I hope it will pass. I don't know why

Game has received 3000+ bug fixes since release but no, all minor, except for the fact a major gameplay system isn't even implemented yet.

Lmao

Ofc this is an EA title, stop fooling yourself. Its a SP game with missing mechanics. I'm sure you can play it without those mechanics, but you're still not playing the game as it should be and was presented.

Waded throught the shit that is steam forums so others don't have.
Performance and whatnot is fine (it's UE, runs same as every other UE game) but AI (how loaded NPCs behave) and A-Life (how unloaded NPCs are kept persistent and respawned when/where appropriate) is still bad.

Those were the main draws of the previous games for me, so I can wait.

Nothing new really the first few stalker games were a buggy mess as well at the beginning. But at least they fixed them all up nicely eventually.

Still much better game than 99% of the crap they release these days.
