PSU OEM Major CWT's First-party PSU Designs at Computex 2024

Channel Well Technology (CWT) is a major OEM of PC and server power supplies, as well as power bricks for notebooks and consumer electronics. The company is also selling PSUs in the retail channel under its own brand, just the way Seasonic and Fortron do. These can be seen as de-facto reference designs for the brand. We begin our tour of CWT with the HPN line of hot-swappable redundant power supplies. A 1000 W model was on display, which meets ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 specs (cutting-edge), along with 80 Plus Gold switching efficiency.

The CTT series are the company's enthusiast-segment high-Wattage PSUs for gaming PCs. These 80 Plus Titanium efficiency-rated PSUs come in 1350 W and 1650 W variants, meet ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 specs, and offer two 600 W-capable 12V-2x6 connectors, besides two 4+4 pin EPS, and half a dozen 6+2 pin PCIe power. There is an even larger 2000 W model, although we're not sure if this meets 80 Plus Titanium. It uses dual +12 V rails, and offers two 600 W 12V-2x6, besides four EPS, and six 6+2 pin PCIe, making it ideal for Ryzen Threadripper or Xeon W high-end desktops or workstations; or even 2P servers.

Xilence Brings Clear Acrylic RGB Fans and Pillarless Cases to Computex 2024

Partly like it's 2012 with clear acrylic RGB LED fans from Xilence. The new Xilence Gaming series 120 mm ARGB fans shed the trend of using frosted plastic to diffuse LED lighting, in favor of clear acrylic for both the impeller and the bore of the fan frame. The LEDs are studded along the bore, and not the impeller hub. You get modern FDB bearings, 4-pin PWM for the main function, and 3-pin ARGB for the lighting. The company also showed us their cable-free daisy-chaining fan series meant for radiator. A single cable powers one of the fans, and daisy-chaining contacts power the others in the series.

Next up, is the Xilence LiQuRizer, a line of all-in-one liquid CPU coolers, which feature a round (typical Asetek) pump-block, with an infinite reflection ornament on top, which shows off the Xilence logo. This logo can be rotated to get the orientation right. Besides ARGB lighting in this pump-block ornament, the included fans have hub-based ARGB. The series comes in 360 mm and 240 mm models. Xilence also showed off a premium variant of the LiQuRizer with an LED segment display that puts out temperature, pump, and fan-speed readings from ACPI (it connects to the motherboard a USB 2.0 header and talks to a software that can access ACPI).

Chieftec at Computex 2024: Atmos PSUs, SFF Cases, and Iceberg AIO Coolers

Chieftec brought an impressive lineup of SFF gaming PC cases, power supplies, and AIO liquid CPU coolers to Computex 2024. We begin our booth tour with the Visio, a cube-shaped ATX case with a pillarless front-left corner. The case is wide, and vertically partitioned, so you orient the PSU sideways. Since the right-side compartment has ample Z-clearance, the case should be a boon for those planning builds with backside connectivity (ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, GIGABYTE AORUS Stealth, etc). It supports up to three radiators, with a large 360 mm along the top and bottom; 240 mm along the side, and 140 mm along the rear. The motherboard tray offers 41 cm clearance for graphics cards. The Visio Air is essentially the same case, but with a mesh intake along the front panel, instead of glass, there's no pillarless edge with this one.

The Pro Cube 2 is a Micro-ATX cube-shaped case with its motherboard tray oriented along the plane of the base. Its front panel is dominated by a large 200 mm fan, with its vent giving the case the appearance of a subwoofer. Inside, there's room for graphics cards up to 32 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 16 in height. It's not just the front, a 200 mm fan is also strategically located along the top panel, providing exhaust ventilation. The case folds open along the front- and top panels, like a truck's hood. The Apex Snow is a conventional mid-tower with a large trapezoid front mesh intake with preinstalled RGB LED fans. and a horizontally partitioned internal layout. There's room for motherboards as large as EATX, graphics cards up to 40 cm in length, and large radiator mounts that include 420 mm x 140 mm along the front, 360 mm or 280 mm along the top; and a 140 mm rear. Four ARGB fans are included.

Raijintek at Computex 2024: Magnetic Keyboard, Ampere PSUs, Metis Ultra Case, Cyclops AIO

Raijintek brought an impressive lineup of new products to the 2024 Computex. We begin our tour with the Raijin, a pro-grade keyboard in the 87% TKL format. The keyboard features magnetic key switches for faster response time, and more accurate actuation. These are capped by PBT+SUB keycaps, with support for various keycap industry standards. The top- and main body panels are made of aluminium. Each key is individually illuminated by addressable RGB LEDs. This is a purely wired keyboard, with a type-A to type-C adapter being included.

Raijintek also brought three new lines of PSUs to Computex, the lineup is led by the Cerios white series, which comes in several medium-high wattage. The model shown was 850 W. It offers 80 Plus Gold switching efficiency, and fully modular cabling. The Ampere Bronze ATX 3.0 series comes in several medium wattage, ranging from 550 W to 1000 W, with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, and 12V-2x6 connectors on some of the higher wattage models, such as the 750 W one shown here. The Ampere Platinum series PSUs are from a whole different league, with high-wattage models, such as the 1200 W shown here, and 80 Plus Platinum switching efficiency.

Thermalright Brings a Huge Lineup of PSUs to Computex 2024

Thermalright brought a large lineup of contemporary high-end PSUs to Computex 2024. The lineup is led by the flagship AT1650 Titanium. This beast has 1650 W of power on tap, and meets ATX 3.1 with PCIe 5 specs. It puts out not one, but two 16-pin 12V-2x6 connectors, both capable of 600 W. Besides this, you get two 8-pin EPS, at least six 6+2 pin PCIe power, and close to a dozen SATA power and other peripheral connectors. Its 80 Plus Titanium switching efficiency makes the dual 600 W 12V-2x6 configuration possible. The TG-1650-W offers the same 1650 W, and two 12V-2x6, but with lower 80 Plus Gold switching efficiency.

The company also has a couple of high-Wattage SFX and SFX-L PSUs, the TGFX850 and TGFX1000, which as their names suggest, deliver 850 W and 1000 W, respectively. You get full modular cabling, one 600 W-capable 12V-2x6, and dual 8-pin EPS. Switching gears back to the conventional ATX/PS2 form-factor, and there are the TG-1200, TP-1000, and TG-1000-W, which are 80 Plus Gold, 80 Plus Platinum, and 80 Plus Gold-rated, respectively; and each offer a 600 W 12V-2x6.
