ASUS was the first AIC partner to announce that due to increased costs in procuring supplies and components for PC component manufacture, it would be increasing prices on its motherboards and graphics cards. That announcement from ASUS seems to have opened the floodgates on other manufacturers, as now both EVGA and ZOTAC have increased pricing for their graphics cards - specifically for NVIDIA's RTX 30-series.

EVGA took a similar approach to ASUS, and announced via its website the changes in pricing and their effective date - January 11th. The company's announcement (which you can read in full after the break) sees pricing increase at around $70 across the board of already-launched NVIDIA RTX 30-series graphics cards. The company will still honor users in the queue system for a new graphics card with the previous pricing structure, should their orders complete through April 16th.

Jacob Freeman, Global Product Management Director at EVGA, has posted a teaser on his Twitter account for EVGA's upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hydro Copper graphics card. The KINGPIN lineup of graphics cards represent the highest-end design from EVGA, and it is built for extreme overclocking with the use of LN2 and with extreme voltages applied. The newly teased GeForce RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hydro Copper card is built for overclocking, however, this model is designed to be cooled by water as there is a water block mounted on the card itself. Called "hydro copper" the name is pretty self-explanatory as it implies that the water block is made out of copper for the best possible heat transfer.

The water block top is build using clear acrylic so the liquid inside the block can be seen. There are integrated RGB lights to customize your build and make the GPU fit in with your flashing lights using EVGA's software. The GPU is most likely going to feature a boost frequency of 1920 MHz, just like its brother GeForce RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hybrid card. Also, an XOC (Extreme Overclocking) BIOS is expected to be applied from the factory, which would bring the maximum power to 450 Watts. Pricing and availability are unknown at the moment.

Colorful has announced a limited-edition, six-part reinvention of its RTX 3090 iGame Vulcan graphics card. The new card simply adds RNG to the name, a homage to Chinese e-Sports team RNG (Royal Never Give Up), who have climbed to fame through their League of Legends antics - the perfect use-case for an RTX 3090 GPU, obviously.

Colorful has changed the color profile of the card, trading in the gray color found in the vanilla RTX 3090 iGame Vulcan for a satin gold finish. The backplate has also received a special treatment, with a golden graphic depicting all six team members of the e-Sports team. Five of these cards will be given to clan members - a great partnership payment if I've ever seen one), while the last one will be offered via social media. We're looking at another collector's graphics card, although its development nature and graphics might affect its final selling price. All in all, this 6-card edition likely represents at least half of the available stock for the RTX 3090 GPU.

MSI today unveiled the GeForce RTX 3090 AERO, the latest in the crop of RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards with rear-venting lateral airflow coolers, such as the ASUS RTX 3090 Turbo OC and the GIGABYTE RTX 3090 Turbo, targeting environments with restricted airflow (such as rendering farms). The MSI RTX 3090 AERO strongly resembles the reference-design of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 480 "Fermi."

The card's blower guides air-flow laterally through an aluminium fin-channel heatsink that isn't hidden underneath a cooler shroud, but rather extends all the way out to the thickness of the card, with its top-plate having some finnage of its own. Much like the ASUS card, the MSI AERO uses two 8-pin PCIe power connectors that are located its tail-end, rather than at the top. Only half of the card's reverse side is covered by a back-plate, meant to cool the memory chips located there. The other half is bare PCB. This has been done to make it easier for an adjacent card to breathe. The card otherwise sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock-speeds for the RTX 3090. The company didn't reveal pricing.

ZOTAC has had a rather spartan custom RTX 30-series lineup in the West, with only its Trinity, Twin-Edge, and Holo board designs covering the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 series. The company plans to change this, with the introduction of a better endowed custom board series, under the PGF series. ZOTAC debuted the PGF brand with the GeForce GTX 10-series "Pascal" family, mostly in the Greater China region, and targeted at enthusiasts. The RTX 20-series "Turing" didn't see PGF branded cards. It now makes a comeback with the RTX 30-series "Ampere." As with the older cards, these are being launched as China-exclusive. It remains to be seen if they reach Western markets.

Both cards feature a common board design with a large triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution that's dunked in RGB LED embellishments. Both cards feature exotic VRM components such as multi-phase capacitors for better electrical noise suppression. The RTX 3080 PGF comes with GPU Boost frequencies of 1770 MHz (vs. 1710 MHz reference), while the RTX 3090 PGF does 1755 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1695 MHz reference). The RTX 3070 PGF runs up to 1785 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1725 MHz reference), and there's even an RTX 3060 Ti PGF, doing 1725 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1665 MHz reference).

EK, the premium computer liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is introducing a new EK-Classic water block, created specifically for reference-design-based NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards. The new EK-Classic GPU water block is a part of the EK-Classic Lineup, which is directly addressing price-conscious users while reusing some of the key technology solutions and a timeless design that established EK as the market leader in the PC liquid cooling industry.

This water block is purpose-designed with a much thicker 11.2 mm copper base to clear the tall capacitors on most reference design graphics cards. This gives the water block advantage on the market of having a clean design and a wider compatibility list, without sacrificing any coolant flow restriction. The block features additional cutouts on the base to accommodate non-standard fan-headers and additional PCB components that certain reference designs have.

NVIDIA has decided to extend the availability of their bundle offer for the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards. The company announced last October that gamers who purchase those particular graphics cards would receive a code for the latest entry in the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise. In hindsight, this wasn't much of a big deal for the company; considering general availability for the RTX 30-series, it stands to reason that not many codes were activated, anyway. However, and probably in relation to the continuing shortages on NVIDIA's latest GPUs, the company has extended the bundle's offer through January 11th 2021 - the same day CES is happening. Codes must be redeemed via the GeForce Experience application on a system with a qualifying graphics card installed.

In the past, we heard rumors about NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Being scheduled for January release, we were just a few weeks away from it. The new graphics card is designed to fill the gap between the RTX 3080 and higher-end RTX 3090, by offering the same GA102 die with the only difference being that the 3080 Ti is GA102-250 instead of GA102-300 die found RTX 3090. It allegedly has the same CUDA core count of 10496 cores, same 82 RT cores, 328 Tensor Cores, 328 Texture Units, and 112 ROPs. However, the RTX 3080 Ti is supposed to bring the GDDR6X memory capacity down to 20 GBs, instead of the 24 GB found on RTX 3090.

However, all of that is going to wait a little bit longer. Thanks to the information obtained by Igor Wallosek from Igor's Lab, we have data that NVIDIA's upcoming high-end GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card is going to be postponed to February for release. Previous rumors suggested that we are going to get the card in January with the price tag of $999. That, however, has changed and NVIDIA allegedly postponed the launch to February. It is not yet clear what the cause behind it is, however, we speculate that the company can not meet the high demand that the new wave of GPUs is producing.

ASUS today introduced White variants of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) Strix custom-design GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards. These card have essentially the same board design as the original ROG Strix RTX 30-series, but with streaks of matte-white and brushed-metal making up the cooler shrouds, back-plates, and impellers of the three Axial-Tech fans. The PCB underneath is still black. The RGB LED embellishments are identical to those on the original ROG Strix cards. The cards also feature the same factory-overclocked speeds as their original-design siblings.

Among the variants ASUS is launching are the ROG-STRIX-RTX3090-O24G-WHITE and ROG-STRIX-RTX3090-24G-WHITE, based on the RTX 3090; ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-O10G-WHITE and ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-10G-WHITE based on the RTX 3080; and ROG-STRIX-RTX3070-O8G-WHITE and ROG-STRIX-RTX3070-8G-WHITE, based on the RTX 3070. The company didn't reveal pricing, although we expect these cards to be priced at a slight premium over the original ROG Strix RTX 30-series.

Now this is the first one such article I've ever written, which goes to show just how strange and crazy this pandemic time is. MSI has allegedly been the victim of a well-coordinated theft that managed to divert no less than 40 cargo units holding NVIDIA's flagship GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards from one of MSI's manufacturing sites in China. These cargo units aren't freight containers, to be clear; they're the sealed cardboard boxes with a manufacturers' seal that are shipped to retailers, with each cargo unit containing (usually) between five and six cards.

The cards are being valued at 2.2 Million Yuan, which is roughly $336,500 in US dollars, when priced at MSRP. That amounts to roughly 224 RTX 3090 GPUs. Of course, these cards will be much more valuable in the black market, since actual availability of the cards in the retail space is so constrained. MSI is offering a reward of 100 thousand Yuan for any information that leads to the recovery of the stolen cargo.

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is ready to offer its premium high-performance GPU water block for the MSI Trio and Suprim editions of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. This new water block is named EK-Quantum Vector Trio RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB and is exclusively engineered for MSI Trio and Suprim RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 GPUs.

The new water block is one of the larger ones in the 3000 series, so make sure your PC case can accommodate it. It's 157 mm wide and 320 mm long and cools all key components on the GPU's printed circuit board. This gives the water block advantage on the market of having a clean design, showing off all of the cooling liquid, and cooling each and every necessary component.

Danish online retailer ProShop, via its German outlet Proshop.de, responding to criticism on lack of inventory of GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards, came clear with the numbers. The retailer tabulated its entire RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 inventory, along with numbers of cards shipped by manufacturers in response to orders placed by the retailer to them, providing a valuable insight into the stark reality of the GeForce RTX 30-series availability situation. We see zero fulfillment of orders by manufacturers for several graphics card models; and very limited fulfillment in cases where the manufacturer decided to fulfill some of the orders, with the manufacturers barely shipping 20% of the cards ordered by the retailer.

These numbers fly in the face of the theory that demand for the RTX 30-series is "unprecedented." If you go by what NVIDIA or AMD say, graphics cards are reaching retailers, and flying off the shelves sooner than stocks could be replenished. This would hold ground if there was a near parity between cards ordered by this retailer, and order fulfillment by manufacturers; which clearly isn't the case. With mounting "outstanding customer (end-user) orders," ProShop.de is having to put pre-orders on hold for several cards indefinitely. The lists can be accessed from the source link below.

Alphacool presents the Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-N block for the EVGA FTW3 graphics cards. The blocks offer outstanding cooling performance thanks to the full cover design. The new backplate, which is included with the coolers, also contributes to this. This stabilizes the graphics card and ensures an even contact pressure of the cooler. The cold plates are made of solid nickel-plated copper. The coolers cover all relevant components such as voltage converters and the graphics memory.

ASUS looks to one-up GIGABYTE by pairing a 350-Watt GeForce RTX 3090 with a classic lateral blower cooling solution, by introducing its new RTX 3090 Turbo OC graphics card (model: TURBO-RTX3090-24G). ASUS claims that the card is designed for "environments with restricted airflow." The card is strictly 2 slots thick, and just about qualifies for "full height" (measures 26.8 cm in length and 11.3 cm in height). It uses two 8-pin PCIe power inputs, which are located at the tail end of the card, instead of the top. These connectors are right next to mounts for extenders for workstation cases.

The ASUS RTX 3090 Turbo OC uses an 80 mm lateral blower with a double ball-bearing; which guides air through a copper-channel heatsink that uses a vapor-chamber plate to pull heat from the GPU and memory. An aluminium secondary base-plate pulls heat from the various VRM components and conveys it to the vapor-chamber plate. The card also offers a mild software-activated OC mode, which dials up the GPU Boost frequency to 1725 MHz (up from 1695 MHz reference). The memory is untouched at 19.5 Gbps (GDDR6X-effective). Display outputs include one HDMI 2.1, and three DisplayPort 1.4a. The company didn't reveal pricing.

It's becoming clear that AMD's new "Big Navi" Radeon RX 6800 XT is a treat for overclockers, and that it launched with much lower engine clocks than the silicon is capable of, resulting in what is possibly the largest overclocking headroom on an AMD GPU in a long time. This has been highlighted by recent conquests of the 3DMark Fire Strike leaderboard by RX 6800 XT cards, displacing even the RTX 3090 from the top. It's becoming even more clear now just how far the RX 6800 XT can be pushed. Patrick Schur on Twitter reports that the RX 6800 XT engine clocks are capped at 2.80 GHz, which is possibly why we're yet to see anything faster than that. The upcoming RX 6900 XT, on the other hand, is a better-endowed beast.

According to Schur, the RX 6900 XT has a raised engine clocked limit to 3.00 GHz in comparison to the 2.80 GHz of the RX 6800 XT. This 200 MHz increase, coupled with the 8 additional RDNA2 compute units, should mean that the Fire Strike leaderboards will get another shake-up in December, when these cards are released to market. The memory clock on both cards is capped at 1075 MHz (real), or 17.2 Gbps GDDR6-effective, although this should depend heavily on the overclocking headroom of the memory chips. It's important to note here that neither the 3.00 GHz of the RX 6900 XT, nor the 2.80 GHz for the RX 6800 XT, are advertised clock speeds for the cards, and are achievable only by manual overclocking, in some cases employing extreme cooling solutions such as liquid nitrogen.

MSI had paused shipments of its RTX 3090 SUPRIM X and RTX 3080 SUPRIM X graphics cards on suspicion of a quality issue with their cards. Earlier today, a Reddit post by someone who was in queue with a retailer to purchase an RTX 3080 SUPRIM X graphics card was allegedly informed by the retailer that the manufacturer has recalled all inventory of SUPRIM X graphics cards from retailers. We recently reviewed the RTX 3080 SUPRIM X, and reached out to our contacts at MSI to confirm the story, and learned a few new facts. For starters, retailers do not have inventory of the RTX 3080 SUPRIM X or RTX 3090 SUPRIM X as of this writing. Rather, MSI halted shipment of the cards' inventories to retailers to check for a quality issue with the cards. It is now convinced that the cards are fit for shipping, and will resume shippint to retailers.

An MSI product manager we spoke with, had this statement:

In order to ensure the best quality of our new SUPRIM flagship series and to offer you the best Gaming experience, we decided to hold back the shipment for a last minute check. Now we are sure that the quality of our product is optimal and the shipments will recommence.

MSI also stressed that the SUPRIM series cards reviewed by the press, or any inventory already in the market, isn't affected by the issue, and that this is just a case of halting shipments on the suspicion of a quality issue. The SUPRIM line of graphics cards represent MSI's new flagship custom-design line, and the company wants to be doubly sure they're shipping the highest quality cards.

Colorful today released the iGame GeForce RTX 3090 Neptune OC-V, its flagship RTX 3090 graphics card which comes with a factory-fitted all-in-one liquid closed-loop cooler (CLC). This card differs slightly from the Neptune OC the company debuted in September with the addition of an RGB controller and illuminated fans. The card features a premium 26-phase (14+8+4) VRM solution that draws power from three 8-pin PCIe power connectors, and comes with factory-overclocked speeds of 1755 MHz boost (vs. 1695 MHz reference), and an untouched 19.5 Gbps GDDR6X memory. It appears like the CLC cools not just the RTX 3090 GPU, but also the other hot components on the card, such as the memory chips and VRM.

A 240 mm x 120 mm radiator with a pair of ARGB LED illuminated fans handles all of the card's cooling. On the card itself, there is a circular ornament that resembles a fan, but is actually the crown of the pump-block. It's possible that a base-plate pushes heat from the ancillaries onto the CLC's cold-plate. The card measures 29.1 cm in length, 15.1 cm in height (you have to factor in the fittings), and is strictly 2 slots thick. The radiator's dimensions are typical of a 240 mm unit. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1. The card features dual-BIOS with a push-type selector switch at the rear I/O bracket. The company didn't reveal pricing, but we estimate it to be close to the $2,000-mark MSRP.

EVGA has launched their halo RTX 30-series product in the form of the RTX 3090 KINGPIN Hybrid graphics card. The pricing is there to match as well, at a full, fat $2,000. For that money, you get a hybrid-cooled graphics card that ships with a 360 mm AIO and has an incorporated OLED display for graphics card monitoring (voltages, temperatures and clocks) or animation display. The card also features some of the highest Boost clocks available in the industry for the RTX 3090 SKU, set at 1,920 MHz Boost.

AMD's Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card debuted yesterday and in the overall test results, we saw that it runs just a few percent behind NVIDIA's direct competitor - GeForce RTX 3080. However, when it comes to overclocking and world records, the card has just set one. Popular extreme overclocker Alva Jonathan aka "LUCKY_NOOB", has managed to overclock the Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU and set a new world record with the card. Paired with LN2 cooled Ryzen 9 5950X clocked at 5.4 GHz, the graphics card was cooled by... air cooler? Indeed it was. Lucky has managed to clock the RX 6800 XT at 2650 MHz using the reference air cooler. With that system, he managed to score 47932 points in 3DMark FireStrike.

The overclocker has modified 3DMark's tessellation to presumably give the Radeon card more performance, so the score isn't valid on the official 3DMark charts. What gives the overclocker an idea of a world record is the fact that HWBOT actually accepts those numbers, which ranks it higher than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card that scored 47725 points. Despite the modifications, it is impressive to see AMD's card rank that high, and as more overclockers are getting their hands on these cards, it is a question if we are going to see the 3 GHz barrier broken by a Radeon card.

The title says it all, really. We've only just been able to add AMD's latest RX 6800 and 6800 XT graphics cards to our shopping carts in multiple etailers, but the cat is already out of the bag and into scalpers' pockets. This has been a recurring event for all gaming-related tech, from DIY PC parts to the latest-gen games consoles from both Microsoft and Sony. At this point, it becomes moot to talk about availability issues, or demand issues, or reaching a conclusion between the two - the stock just isn't there for anything gaming-related, period.

Some etailers are only selling their graphics cards in-person, as a way to both control flow of stock and protect themselves from scalpers buying up the entire inventory with recourse to some digital sidekicks that automate the purchase process, and then allow them to resell anything from graphics cards from NVIDIA to AMD, passing through AMD's latest Ryzen 5000 series and the Xbox Series X and PS5 gaming consoles.

We previously brought you a report on MSI's new graphics card lineup in the form of the SUPRIM X series. The new SKUs will slot in right above the Gaming X graphics cards, supplanting them, and effectively becoming MSI's top models for the foreseeable future. The SUPRIM X series ship with Dual BIOS capabilities (and both GAMING and SILENT modes) and much higher TGP values than the GAMING X Trio series they supplant: the RTX 3090 SUPRIM X is listed with 420 W (+ 70 W over reference, + 50 W over the RTX 3090 GAMING X), while the RTX 3080 SUPRIM X ships with a 370 W (+ 50 W over reference, + 30 W over the RTX 3080 GAMING X).

MSI SUPRIM graphics cards feature a brand new TRI FROZR 2S cooling solution equipped with three TORX 4.0 fans. The graphics card features close quarters heatpipes around the VRM and backplate which is now made of metal, instead of the painted plastic solution that MMSI used on their GAMING X Trio. The cards are expected to be announced come November 20th alongside reviews from some publications, and for now, there is no pricing information.

GALAX via its Virtual Online Expo has revealed a new graphics card series coming to customers. The new Work The Frames (WTF) cards will no longer bring the HOF series' signature white looks, but instead seems to be more about that RGB bling. The tease is just a render at this point, though - your guess is as good as ours as to when these will be available in the market - and even then, and at what supply levels. The renders currently lack any power connectors - so we shouldn't look too hard into the absence of any NVLink fingers either. Following GALAX's usual business decisions, it seems likely that the Work the Frames family will be available in GA102 flavors.

The cooler shroud seems to be all black with RGB accents throughout the heatsink, backplate and even at the card's rear. It's a triple-fan solution seemingly coming in at around 2.2-slot thickness. EVGA over the weekend launched an extensive lineup of GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards that either feature liquid cooling, or come with preparation for DIY liquid cooling. The EVGA Hydro Copper line of graphics cards include the RTX 3090 FTW3 Hydro Copper, RTX 3090 XC3 Hydro Copper, RTX 3080 FTW3 Hydro Copper, and RTX 3080 XC3 Hydro Copper. These are essentially the same FTW3 or XC3 graphics cards EVGA debuted its RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 lineups with, but come with factory-fitted, full-coverage water blocks. These blocks are made of nickel-plated copper, with clear acrylic tops that have a plastic top-plate with a printed pattern similar to the one found on the back-plates. The tops are studded with addressable RGB LEDs which are connected directly to RGB controllers on the PCB, and can be controlled via the Precision X1 software. These cards have the same factory-overclocked speeds as their air-cooled siblings, but are priced about $150-200 higher.

Next up, are the Hybrid Cooling line of graphics cards, which feature factory-fitted, all-in-one, closed-loop, liquid cooling solutions. Much like the FTW3 and XC3 Hydro Copper series, we see EVGA reuse its RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 FTW3 and XC3 PCBs to carve out their Hybrid Cooling variants. The FTW3 Hybrid Cooling cards feature addressable RGB illumination on the radiator fans, while the XC3 Hybrid Cooling series cards lack illumination on the cards. All four variants feature 240 mm x 120 mm radiators, and a pair of included 120 mm fans. The cooling solution features a pump-block cooling the GPU, while a series of heatsinks and a lateral fan cool the memory and VRM components. These cards have a similar $150-200 premium over the air-cooled FTW3 and XC3 cards.
