Intel Core Ultra 9 185H Appears with 16C/22T Configuration at 5.1 GHz

Intel's upcoming Meteor Lake processor family will see the light of the day in mobile version only, with a big re-brand of the Intel Core i naming structure. Slated for a December 14th launch, we are eager to see the official performance figures. However, we are in for a treat today as we have some early performance figures thanks to Geekbench. According to the GB5 run found by BenchLeaks, Intel's Core Ultra 9 185H CPU has appeared to show its configuration, early performance, and boost frequency that is reaching beyond the 5.0 GHz mark.

As the GB5 run suggests, Core Ultra 9 185H is a 16-core CPU with 22 threads, running at 2.5 GHz base frequency. There are six P-cores, eight E-cores, and two SoC-cores on the package of this SKU. During boost, the CPU can reach up to 5.1 GHz and was paired with 64 GB of DDR5 memory. Interestingly, the CPU scored 1849 points in single-threaded tests and 9832 points in multi-threaded tests, which currently doesn't beat top-end Intel mobile HX SKU like i9-13980HX. However, we estimate this was an early engineering sample, and the final product will be more performant.

Intel Publishes 14th Gen Core Processor Model Numbers Before Official Release

Intel accidentally confirmed the processor model numbers of its entire upcoming 14th Gen Core desktop processor lineup, as part of a PDF describing packaging materials to its channel partners. The list details processor model numbers with their corresponding S-SPEC codes. It covers not just the enthusiast-friendly K and KF brand extensions, but also the regular non-K ones, as well as special variants, such as F (lacks integrated graphics), and T (low power). These could very well be the last Intel Core processors to retain the classic Intel Core nomenclature that's been around since the 2008 Core "Nehalem" processors.

The lineup is led by the Core i9 series, with the i9-14900K and i9-14900KF on the top (the latter lacks integrated graphics). These two will cater to the enthusiast market, and pack overclocking features. The rest of the Core i9 series includes the i9-14900, i9-14900F, and the i9-14900T. These chips are mostly identical to the i9-14900K/KF, but lack unlocked multipliers, and feature lower power limits. Next up is the Core i7 series, with five SKUs of its own—the i7-14700K, i7-14700KF, i7-14700, i7-14700F, and i7-14700T. We know from earlier leaks that the 14th Gen Core i7 processors see a generational core-count increase to 8P+12E, with 33 MB of L3 cache.

Intel Lunar Lake Processor Appears in SiSoftware Sandra Benchmark

Intel's next-generation Lunar Lake processor has appeared in the SiSoftware Sandra benchmarking suite, and the online database has revealed many details, thanks to a spotting by @Olrak29 of X/Twitter. Considering Intel's Meteor Lake is still two months away from its launch, the presence of Lunar Lake's benchmarks is indeed intriguing. Interestingly, Intel showcased a Lunar Lake laptop at the Intel Innovation 2023 event, and this SiSoft entry might be related to that demo. The data from SiSoft details the system as a "Genuine Inte l(R) 0000 1.00 GHz (5M 20c 3.91 GHz + 2.61 GHz, 3.3 GHz IMC, 4x 2.5 MB + 4 MB L2, 2x 8 MB L3)," hinting at a "Lunar Lake Client System (Intel LNL-M LP5 RVP1)." Deciphering these details, the Lunar Lake system adopts a 4+4 core configuration, utilizing a mix of Lion Cove and Skymont architecture cores tailored for performance and efficiency.

Moreover, the benchmark report pegs this CPU as a low-power laptop variant with a 17 W TDP. While it operates at a 1.0 GHz base frequency, it reached a speed of 3.91 GHz during the testing. However, these numbers should be taken cautiously since it's likely an engineering sample. Cache details are outlined, suggesting a 2.5 MB L2 cache per P-core, an added 4 MB L2 cache for E-cores, and a 16 MB L3 cache. No details on the integrated GPU were revealed, although it's anticipated that Lunar Lake will house Intel's Xe2-LPG graphics and LPDDR5 system memory. Intel has shared that Lunar Lake is scheduled for a 2024 release in mobile/laptop devices, targeting performance-per-watt leadership. Arrow Lake processors, catering to desktops, might share the core architecture and are anticipated to launch around the same timeframe.

HP Announces the Envy Move 23.8 inch All-in-One PC.

The adage that a person's home is their castle has never been truer than today. Our home is our sanctuary, our getaway, a place where we can relax. But it's also so much more than that. It has become a place where we work, where we exercise and as a gamer, where I play.

Like most people, my typical day starts in the kitchen with a cup of coffee. I often move out to the patio overlooking the yard and answer a few early morning messages before heading to my home office. If I'm lucky, I can take a brain break around lunch and watch a quick episode of my latest binge. After work, I'll grab my yoga mat for a quick workout in spare room, followed by a video chat with my good friend in Taiwan from the living room. And as my friend tells me, she seeks quiet refuge for our chat anywhere in the house where the kids aren't blasting out their latest hip hop tunes. Then I try to close the day by chilling out in the comfort of my bedroom for a quick check of my next day's calendar and urgent emails.

Lower Mainstream Graphics Segment Sees Action with Arc A580 and GeForce RTX 3050 6GB

The lower mainstream graphics segment is considered to be the starting point for PC gaming, targeting 1080p gaming with medium-thru-high (though not extreme) settings, and popular e-sports titles at 1080p with high settings. This segment is preparing to see some action in the coming days, with the introduction of two new products, the Intel Arc A580, and a new 6 GB variant of the GeForce RTX 3050. We've seen the A580 "Alchemist" in development for a while now.

Based on the 6 nm ACM-G12 silicon, the Arc A580 comes with 24 Xe Cores, or 384 EU (execution units), which work out to 3,072 unified shaders, compared to the 3,584 of the A750, 4,096 of the A770, and the significantly lower 1,024 of the entry-level A380. The most interesting aspect of the A580 is its memory. Although 8 GB in size, it uses a wide 256-bit memory interface, and 16 Gbps memory speed, which works out to a generous 512 GB/s of bandwidth. The A580 also comes with a full PCI-Express 4.0 x16 host interface.

Intel 14th Gen Core Marketing Material Leaked, Basic Specs Confirmed

Retailers in East Asia have reportedly chosen to go live with marketing imagery depicting Intel's initial batch of 14th Gen Core SKUs—this is roughly two weeks ahead of an official October 17 "Raptor Lake Refresh" product launch. A couple of "official" slides have been forwarded to VideoCardz—the information on display provides a quick overview of basic specifications for Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5 models. The 6 GHz clock and 24 core configuration is believed to be the upcoming flagship Core i9-14900K SKU. The Core i7-14700K would fit the bill of sporting a 5.6 GHz and 20-core setup—leaked marketing info confirms that this new model has been bolstered with an additional four Gracemont E-cores. The Core i5-14600K seems to align with the 5.3 GHz and 14-core spec. A premature publication of information is not all that surprising—a couple of marketing slides breaking embargo is relatively minor when compared to actual working hardware getting demoed during summertime. ITHome reported on Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake appearing on the showroom floor at July's Bilibili World.
