Disassembly
Removing the bottom lid includes pulling off eight rubber plugs hiding the eight Philips-head screws, unscrewing said screws and then carefully disconnect the RGB power connector.
Once we did that, we were greeted with a pretty busy setup dominated by a large cooling fan and a 48.51 Wh battery. The left and the right sides feature two removable PCBs. The unfortunate news is that you have to completely remove each one to reach and replace the thumbsticks.
Here, we can also notice a pair of massive (for a handheld PC) rumble motors. The M.2 2280 SSD is tucked between the fan and the left-hand PCB. At the bottom of the two PCBs, you can notice the two bottom-firing speakers.
The motherboard has the usual layout with the Ryzen 7 8840U at the center. Four 4 GB memory chips, made by Micron, and the VRM setup surround the CPU. The Wi-Fi chip (Intel AX210) is located at the top and is soldered to the motherboard.
The CPU is covered with two heatsinks, with a single heatsink reserved for the VRM.
The SSD used is a FORESEE XP2000F512G that doesn't include DRAM but does support HMB (64 MB). The components found after we removed the protective tape are the Silicon Motion SM2269XT controller and two flash chips made by Longsys.
