F.Y.I. if your currently using the V2 driver and things are working, don't bother with these. If you are having issues with v2 driver, use these.

Specifically in Rage this set fixed the texture pop-in for me opposed to the previous set(s).

Why release driver to improve performance in an Open Beta that is no longer open?

I am sure they meant Battlefield 3

That's wierd, i have 2 pc's both with 6970's and they run great in rage. I'm not getting crossfire as it doesnt work with rage, but i'm only utilizing 60-80% and getting a solid 60fps with vsync on.. game looks gorgeous..

So far only driver working for me is the 11.9 driver, not the performance version... And I must disable Catalyst AI, or the CPU makes me lag...Any of the other drivers perf, 11.10 v1,v2 and v3 I can play, but only with AI enabled, but thats horrible lag. If I disable AI, it results in total texture misplacement and nothing is identificable visually...

Edit: using C2D E8400 and XFX 4890

I use preview #2 to play rage on 4870 X2 and it is just fine. doesn't use second GPU, and first GPU is only used at 50%, but hey it works...

They do. Win8 itself is not exactly the most optimal place to be playing your games though. Some of the features get in the way of gameplay by preventing fullscreen mode in some titles.

I installed 11.10 v3 driver will give it a go. I was using 11.8 and tried 11.9 but 11.9 I lost my 1080p.

Could be lots of things causing this and not necessarily bad drivers. However, here's two:

1 Is the card overclocked? If so, put it back to stock

2 Try removing them with a driver cleaner and reinstalling

People are not generally reporting problems with them, so it's worth persevering.

drivers are full of errors. they dropped my fps on rage and suddenly after entering a race it gave me no graphics at all. only polygons. piece of crap. i hope they have nothing to do with official 11.10s. reverting to 11.10 preview 2 with which i had no problem

I got these new drivers and I swear BC2 is heaps smoother now than before. Using 2 5870s. :)

Wow, these drivers are terrible. I have preview 2 installed with no issues. These completely screwed up my usb. I had to restore back with a PS2 mouse.

I thought they took out that shitty usb driver?

I've compared

Win7 w/ Preview 2
Win8 w/ Preview 2
Win8 w/ Preview 3

There's definitely a lot more screen tearing in Win8 than Win7, I have Vsync set to Smart, maybe it isn't working under Win8? GPU load according to AMD's system monitor seems to be pretty high so maybe I just need to lower my settings (5850 1GB). Haven't seen much difference between Preview 2 and Preview 3.

Under Win8 w/ Preview 2 I've noticed sometimes I have no mouse in Rage (menus or actual game), the easy fix is to quickly shift-tab in and out of the steam community (or whatever).

Installing Preview 3 under Win8 you definitely want to uncheck the USB filter driver as mentioned above unless you were wanting a peek at the new BSOD screen.

I just force vsync in the panel. And since even some games can ignore that I have D3DOverrider running. I haven't had a shitty game yet defeat that :)

What happens if you set vsync to on - does the tearing go away? It should.

You may also want to run www.fraps.com. With vsync off, there's much less tearing as the framerate goes up over 200 fps or so. It's quite possible that Win8 is rendering much more slowly due to its unfinished state, so run Fraps on both OS's and compare.

Still on 11.9, might switch to these before the release of BF3.

The only game that i believe would benefit me right now with new drivers is RAGE, it lags terribly on my 6970. But since i already finished it i'm not very concerned about it.

Odd. Although, I didn't try it with 11.9, but 11.10 preview 1 and 2 it runs great, but still suffers from the textures not always being full resolution when looking at a new area (texture pop in I guess).

Video card is at about 50% usage and it's a solid 60 fps. Only dips below that on big explosions directly in my face. Obviously, a very poorly optimized game. I don't think it should take but about 25% of the gpu to display those low res textures.

But what else is new. :(
