NVIDIA Announces the TITAN Xp - Faster Than GTX 1080 Ti

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cannibalized the TITAN X Pascal, and the company needed something faster to sell at USD $1,200. Without making much noise about it, the company launched the new TITAN Xp, and with it, discontinued the TITAN X Pascal. The new TITAN Xp features all 3,840 CUDA cores physically present on the "GP102" silicon, all 240 TMUs, all 96 ROPs, and 12 GB of faster 11.4 Gbps GDDR5X memory over the chip's full 384-bit wide memory interface.

Compare these to the 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 96 ROPs, and 10 Gbps GDDR5X memory of the TITAN X Pascal, and 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 88 ROPs, and 11 GB of 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory across a 352-bit memory bus, of the GTX 1080 Ti. The GPU Boost frequency is 1582 MHz. Here's the catch - the new TITAN Xp will be sold exclusively through GeForce.com, which means it will be available in very select markets where NVIDIA's online store has a presence.

Interesting, sounds like a cool card. Was wondering when they were going to release the full chip and how they were going to go about it.

Not like the additional small amount of cores though are going to make that much of a difference though. Its probably within 10% difference (I am just guessing).

Did I just go back in time or what. The TITAN XP was released not too long ago and now they are re-releasing it again just faster.
Confused?????

newtekie1Yes, it is absolutely terrible when new products come out replacing old ones at the top. We should really just stop progressing so we don't hurt the feelings of those who wasted money on overpriced cards.
Way to misconstrue what I said.

I don't do mental gymnastics and/or gobble up JHH - or any person/corporation - man sauce.

I like the fact that you now have Titan X (maxwell), Titan X"p" (pascal) and Titan XP (pascal).

Thats naming taken to the next level...

LOL i literally ROFLed at this.
I mean, people who bought TITAN X are now getting to a point where their card is not the best and it ia named a TITAN.

Hahahaha so much butthurt for them.
I guess Nvidia does what Nvidia does best: Makes money from cool names of products.

Hmm..... So much fanboy hatred and envy. Says I who bought a Ryzen 1700X because it seemed silly to buy the 1800X for £120 more.
Imagine a company releasing intentionally 'cut down' versions to make a product stack. I mean, only Nvidia does that right. Intel wouldn't. AMD don't. No wait, they all do.
And are these same small minded people who said this years ago when the 780 was released after the Titan, then the 780ti and Titan Black came out? All these people just repeat the same mantra while the private business that makes millions keeps making record profits because its business model works....

Gosh. Many businesses school rejects here. Don't worry, AMD will save the day.

Nvidia has given up... there is no one to fight against and the money keeps flooding in... so why use time on a new name when they have one... :D¨

^^Amd will Save the day.... when... next year ? I'm still waiting on the grate RX 4...... 5...... Vega........ but now Nvidia has a Gpu that will keep up Gflop wise with the "Great" Vega RXx90 MAXX duo x2 fury.......

This card suggests to me that there's gonna be a GTX version of it in a few months too, to dethrone the GTX 1080 Ti. I wonder if that will be followed by another convenient price hike?

Also, how far away is the next GPU version, Volta, now? Pointless spending big only to have it outdated by the next generation in short order.

We really really need Vega to be competitive and bring prices down. Come on AMD.

You can only be crying in pain abuse rape and robbery! This could be done a long time ago. Such it is behaves from nVidia for many years.! True respect for the customer ! Is the special feature of this company. As the whole card is not overpay, but they have something to give us for free. Not to mention truncated the main attributes of the product Titan model Pascal . I'm very close to vomit at keyboard when you see this relationship. Nobody mentions how they abusing minors for free publicity and their profit. Already well i m throwing up!

ShurikNOh what a nice finger up the ass of all those 1080ti adopters...
Classic nvidia.
those that choose to get 1080ti most likely will not care. because this is almost twice as expensive than 1080ti. if they don't care about money they probably already get the previous titan instead of 1080ti.

Adam FreemanA new Titan X to rip off big-wallet half-mind customers. If someone is willing to spend that much money on a graphics card, why not buying two 1080Tis for 200$ more that performance-wise can destroy a single titan xp .
Except for multi GPU is garbage more than half the time.

1080ti probably will be the last card nvidia have for pascal that is not titan. remember 980ti also did not use fully enabled GM200. only Quadro M6000 and Titan X Maxwell ever use fully enabled GM200.

Whoever paid $1200 for the previous Titan got their money's worth. What they didn't get is the vain feeling of having the best for the amount of time they had hoped.

Don't be the guy that cries because there is a new shinier toy. Enjoy tech progress. Or keep waiting for Vega.
