NVIDIA Announces the TITAN Xp - Faster Than GTX 1080 Ti

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cannibalized the TITAN X Pascal, and the company needed something faster to sell at USD $1,200. Without making much noise about it, the company launched the new TITAN Xp, and with it, discontinued the TITAN X Pascal. The new TITAN Xp features all 3,840 CUDA cores physically present on the "GP102" silicon, all 240 TMUs, all 96 ROPs, and 12 GB of faster 11.4 Gbps GDDR5X memory over the chip's full 384-bit wide memory interface.

Compare these to the 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 96 ROPs, and 10 Gbps GDDR5X memory of the TITAN X Pascal, and 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 88 ROPs, and 11 GB of 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory across a 352-bit memory bus, of the GTX 1080 Ti. The GPU Boost frequency is 1582 MHz. Here's the catch - the new TITAN Xp will be sold exclusively through GeForce.com, which means it will be available in very select markets where NVIDIA's online store has a presence.

P4-630*Just kidding! Happy with my GTX1070...:D
so do i ...

also for Titan X Pascal and 1080Ti .... : AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

well nvidia keep getting lower and lower o_O "oh shiet our 1080Ti almost outperform the Titan X Pascal, we need something faster to fool them, otherwise no one will think it's worth it to throw 1200$ on a single GPU." "i have an idea, let's throw 10% more performance on the Titan X Pascal, call it Titan Xp and they will flock on it like bees on a honey jar"

actually ... the Titan Xp has no advantage whatsoever outside of heavy GPGPU over the Titan X Pascal ... i guess it's just a make up to make it seems worth 1200$ while it's totally not ...

1080Ti is the only one to get (gaming wise) "IF" (and that's a big IF ) found at MSRP and not overinflated -5% of a Titan X Pascal.
FluffmeisterBut yes... more performance at the same price point, damn them!
yeah right ... because retailer will absolutely follow nvidia pricing ... you can bet on a 1200$ Titan X Pascal and a 1500$+ Titan Xp ... that's what happened with the 1080 and Titan X pascal were i live ... 1080 custom model : 800 to 900 with some model around 1100, Titan X Pascal : 1400~ (699$ 1080Ti? oh well ... more like 850-1100... good news ... the 1080 will lower in price ... probably around 700-750$ now  )

oh well not that i care a lot ... Titan are not desirable card at their price point, for what they offer ... but they are just excuses for retailer/etailer/AIB to over inflate their 10XX card price point.

and 2nd hand seller  my local "ebay" is filled with 1080 at 790$ price point (well close to the 1080Ti msrp isn't it? ... due to the regular pricing  )

the market would be better off without the Titan line ... :p
removing FP64 from them is like saying "f*ck the XX80Ti and to hell with workstation user that thought they could get "cheap" workstation class card with the initial Titan, they are not buying Quadro/tesla... we need to remove the FP64 from the Titan" and the real 1080 and 1080Ti are the Titan X Pascal and Titan Xp ...

You know, it just occured to me.. i mean i never even consider Titans so had never crossed mind.
For that kind of price, it sure is effing pathetic that it comes with a shitty fan on it, lol.. you gotta pay a fortune to get it in the first place and then pay yet a smaller one to get a full custom loop, 'cause if you don't already own one (i don't), there's like no other way to cool this thing, right?

Now that's what i'd mind. That's.. cheap :)
As far as the rest go, i think to each their own. Got too much money to burn? Perfect, we need the economy boost; go spend it and make both yourself and us just a little happier.
Envious of the guy that does have money to burrn? It's called landing a side-job. No shame in working, only in procrastinating.

Let me spell it out for you, pricing on Pascal card faster than 480/1060 are not even remotely reasonable, have never been, and that even after price drops.

No way in hell could have GDDR equipped 314nm chip cost 700$. (1080)
500$ for faulty 314nm chips harvested as 1070 is outrageous as well. (at the moment 390-470 Euro on mindfactory, majority about 430-450)

1299$ for a Ti version of the card... Well, 780Ti, which was faster than Ti, was 699$.

But back then there were nice alternatives from team red.

No competition = nVidia bending over customers.
Good job Huang, oh, and thank you Raja, (I don't know exactly what you did there to have quite a group of followers on reddit, I mean, beside screwing up things and thank you for telling us that Vega will be called Vega, much appreciated)
And dear customers, I hope you are enjoying it too...
Huang had mercy, and didn't 1499$ on you yet, maybe with poor Voltage.

Nah they're literally already on 'Titan 10'

It's even part of the marketing!

So given the fact that Windows 10 is the 'final' Windows, this was the last Titan ever!

$370 for the GTX 1070 which is better than anything AMD currently offer really isn't that bad.

But go ahead a rant.

IF it was 370$ for all country and not above 450/500$ for some country, well ... i got mine almost for free due to a insurance replacement so i can't really complain ... but i guess i would have taken a RX 480 if the insurance didn't cover the damage to the previous GPU and if i didn't had to change i would have kept my 980 till the RX 580/RX Vega before deciding on a upgrade :p but the 1070 just like the other Pascal cards are overpriced ... by nvidia who acted like total idiot by wanting a "FE" premium price (while it's worth nothing in the end since it cripple more than it add) alongside a MSRP price, and by AIB/Retailer/E-Tailer... yeah complain on human greed and lack of concurrence ... and per country situation

actually the RX 480 is not that bad ... if needing FP perf ... but for games ... oh well enough for 1080p (too bad i want to upgrade to 1440p next )

ah just checked: a good 1070 custom model is between 500 and 599chf were i am ... ( 0.99$ for 1 chf well ... 495$~ for the cheapest ) 370$~ is the RX480 Gaming X from MSI for me  (oh... if i did select that one instead of the Armor i have i would have a cash back of 130chf on my insurance instead of having to pay 21chf :D )

Fixed that for you.

Rant, lol? I'm simply telling you it is vastly overpriced, don't get nervous.

I wouldn't buy piece from nvidia even if it was competitively priced. (1050/1060 is, 1050Ti again, isn't, funny)

Hopefully. TItan z wasn't their first endeavor with the Dual GPU. If they learned the lesson time will tell. Who knows what they are willing to do to sell stuff. :)
