Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Delayed Due to Cyber Attack on CD Projekt RED

Oh the irony! Hacking was a very viable way to develop your character and play Cyberpunk 2077, but CD Projekt RED did not think their 2021 would be made worse due to an IRL hack. Not only did they lose out invaluable source code to hackers, but said hackers also sold the codes in a move that jeopardizes the structural integrity of a video game developer. You could make jokes about the 90's meme letter the hackers sent to the company, however they clearly don't see the humor in this situation as this has taken up resources which otherwise were meant to go towards patching Cyberpunk 2077- especially on older gen consoles.

CD Projekt RED took to twitter earlier today to inform us that the patch is delayed, as many speculated, but also that the additional time will also contribute towards increasing the scope of the patch beyond earlier updates. Indeed, in a situation where they simply can't seem to catch a break, perhaps transparency and downplaying expectations would have been the way to go. As it stands, the public feedback to this news is a gentle reminder to the sane TPU reader to keep social media and public comments at arm's length to maintain said sanity. We sympathize with CD Projekt RED and hope that they come out better to do better by their paying customers alike.

lexluthermiesterNo.

Was it ever intended to?

They do and always have on my system.

I've never seen that one personally, though there are plenty of video's about it. I think that was an early glitch that people are still whining about.

Not that I've seen.

Riiiight.... Are you and your friends done CDPR bashing? It's getting really, rather annoyingly, old...
Think you should make a video to show all that you claim is fixed or even claim was never there to begin with.....
And yeah when a car falls in the water...there should be a splash..when you shoot the water there should be a splash, ps2 games did that already....

So the cops dont just spawn behind you now, so what happens now then when you "commit a crime", do they drive to your location, get out of the car and open fire? do they call in reinforcements when stuff goes poorly? like MAX-TAC, that was so nicely shown in that scripted driving scene?

oh speaking of scripted, do you now actually have to shoot at things in those scripted chase scenes or do enemies still just blow up or crash when the script says they should?

as this has taken up resources which otherwise were meant to go towards patching Cyberpunk 2077
While this is certainly an unfortunate situation for their game studio, you have to see through this nonsense about a source code leak causing delays to a patch. And while this situation will drain some financial resources long term, it's not like their programmers will stop coding and instead do system administration to clean up their security. This whole claim here is some premium quality bovine manure.

This is simply the management using this situation to lower expectations to cover their own behinds, especially when they have to answer to their own board.
altcapwnThey seem to have lost control and I feel sorry for them, tho I'm not sure if it's pity or disdain.
They really need to work on transparency. Let's hope they can come back on track.
I feel sorry for the poor developers who have to try to patch together this mess.
It may not even be lack of skilled developers, bad project management can turn even the best teams and the most promising projects into spectacular failures. And if heads starts rolling, you know who will get the short end of the stick.

These days it seems like the largest games struggle the most during development, despite the gaming market being larger than ever. Many of these game studios will go bust if they don't get their business under control.

Well no, that is a worse idea, you are here claiming what a million youtube vids show were problems with the game are actually fixed by now in an attempt to defend the game against the so far seemingly very disappointed people here.
Sooo its up to your to prove you are not making it up.

evernessinceI'm personally still getting a lot of bugs like foliage being visible through walls, bodies floating through cars, bugged stats / weapon cards, and bugged attributes. You can apply unlimited armidilo mods but for some reason crit chance mods aren't applying beyond the first (no indication is made of any limitation on it either). Technical ability still doesn't seem to actually give you the extra armor it says it should either. (TBH though it's kind of a joke though given that max technical is only equal to about a single armodilio mod. It's unbalanced for sure.) I play on hard difficulty and enemies were 1 tapping me before I figured out that it was due to a glitch. I stopped playing because my options were: a) cheese the game with armodilo mods b) get 1 tapped. At that point it doesn't feel like an RPG, I have to play the game a certain way.
you might be right, i haven't played it much of late as i have lost most of my interest in gaming and yeah i do remember having quite a few of them when did play it briefly some weeks back

ZoneDymowhat a million youtube vids show were problems
Youtubers make video's to make MONEY. I take most of them with a BIG grain of salt.
ZoneDymoSooo its up to your to prove you are not making it up.
No it isn't. How would I do that? Take screenshots of nothing abnormal? Make video's of nothing abnormal? Yeah, that would be exciting.

I own the game and know how it currently plays. I'm calling out these claims of problems. You want to see it for yourself? Buy the game and play it, making sure to update it and start a fresh save file. Find a problem, take a screenshot making sure to show the version of the game being played as well as your settings, both in game and drivers, so we can attempt to replicate said problem. Otherwise it's all just BS whining and CDPR bashing.
