Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Delayed Due to Cyber Attack on CD Projekt RED
Oh the irony! Hacking was a very viable way to develop your character and play Cyberpunk 2077, but CD Projekt RED did not think their 2021 would be made worse due to an IRL hack. Not only did they lose out invaluable source code to hackers, but said hackers also sold the codes in a move that jeopardizes the structural integrity of a video game developer. You could make jokes about the 90's meme letter the hackers sent to the company, however they clearly don't see the humor in this situation as this has taken up resources which otherwise were meant to go towards patching Cyberpunk 2077- especially on older gen consoles.
CD Projekt RED took to twitter earlier today to inform us that the patch is delayed, as many speculated, but also that the additional time will also contribute towards increasing the scope of the patch beyond earlier updates. Indeed, in a situation where they simply can't seem to catch a break, perhaps transparency and downplaying expectations would have been the way to go. As it stands, the public feedback to this news is a gentle reminder to the sane TPU reader to keep social media and public comments at arm's length to maintain said sanity. We sympathize with CD Projekt RED and hope that they come out better to do better by their paying customers alike.

Yeah pretty ironic
Never said was the hacker twitter account banned lol
1.2 should be rebuilding the house. If 1.2 does not fix the majority of bugs then backlash will happen! :0
Imo alot of people should cut CDR som slack. They are not perfect, far from, but at least they try (like look at what we have left: its ticktock cycles from EA and the others al day long! Having a company that dear to attack a project like cyberpunk and pull it off (somewhat), is not be taken lightly. Lets hope they have learned from their mistakes and becomes an even better developer
They really need to work on transparency. Let's hope they can come back on track.
I mean, the game was in such a state that they offered refunds no questions asked and you think that they fixed it in two months when they launched it utterly broken after years of development and Youtube has a constant stream of new ludicrous bugs?
Sure, man.
How many game do you know that are barred from the playstation store due to bugs? That alone is all I need to say.
I personally think that CDPR kicked ass with this game and has made more progress fixing things than nearly any other dev. It fraking rocks and anyone complaining about bugs/glitches needs to put a cork in their pie-hole, quit whining and just enjoy the game. CP2077 wasn't taken off the PS4/XBO stores because of the bugs but because of users complaining about performance. Let's not spread disinformation.
Also the game has so many backstories and 2ndary missions so really appreciate the effort they put in this game.
The only problem I have with this game is the cartoonish graphic, or maybe that's by design?
Very few bugs though.
I also played Bioshock infinite on launch, I don't remember a single bug. There's really isn't much in the way of news in that regard as well, especially not in comparison to CP2077.
Even if CP2077 fixes all it's bugs, for me it'll still be a massive disappointment due to the broken promises. AngryJoe gave the game a 6, which I personally agree with. I'd bump that up to a 7/10 with the bugs fixed. It needed about 2 more years to improve the quests, add in the promised dynamic weather system (they promised acid rain and unscripted sand storms), vastly improve the romance options and depth, improve the weapon cards (which are currently still bugged and missing information), vastly improve the AI (the game's cop system is not acceptable), and much much more.
You are taking this far too personal. If it rocks for you, that's great. Please go ahead and enjoy the game. That said, do not come out here and say everyone who disagrees with you is wrong or "whinning". That's not a legitimate reason to dismiss anyone's argument, that's an ad hominem attack.

www.nytimes.com/2020/12/18/technology/cyberpunk-2077-refund.html
"PlayStation’s move to stop distributing Cyberpunk 2077, a role-playing game set in a dystopian crime-ridden megalopolis that was long hyped as the game of the decade, came a week after the game was released and days after complaints from users about its glitches and poor visuals on some platforms drew attention."
www.guru3d.com/news-story/sony-removes-cyberpunk-2077-from-the-playstation-store,3.html
"Things are diving nose down, Sony removed CD Projekt Cyberpunk 2077 from its PlayStation Store and is offering full refunds, taking unusual steps to relieve customers furious about bugs plaguing one of the year’s most highly anticipated games."
It's because of both. Just stop, you are only making this worse.
does water react to....well anything at all yet?
is AI still not capable of driving around any object in the way?
does ai sitll just walk in circles in the street and straight up vanish when action starts and you are not looking at them?
do cars still get replaced when you dont look at them for a second?
oh wait....those were intentional shortcomings so the game could be pushed out the door for that sweet sweet hype money....
And besides, this for sure means that a Witcher 4 game is coming and they are going to make it good.
