Intel Plans May-June 2022 Launches of Arc "Alchemist" Desktop Graphics Cards
Intel is reportedly targeting early-Summer (May-June) for the launch of its ambitious attempt at AAA gaming graphics cards for desktops, the Arc "Alchemist" series, based on the Xe-HPG graphics architecture, according to a report by Igor's Lab. Product launches are expected anywhere between May 2 and June 1, so one could expect some market availability within Summer. The Arc "Alchemist" series is designed to be sold through a handful board partners Intel already has strong industry relations with. The Arc "Alchemist" lineup will initially target four market segments, including the performance segment, meant for maxed out AAA gaming, with XeSS possibly even enabling 4K Ultra HD gameplay. Intel's entry to the gaming graphics space is expected to introduce an element of competitive pressure against both NVIDIA and AMD, as the company has the financial muscle to keep investing in this market if it tastes success with "Alchemist."

If RT isn't something you care about stick with Ampere which they'll continue to make for a long time alongside Lovelace.
You're supposed to get more performance for the same price, not just shift price tiers around so now you fit in the lower end product. This arguably started with Turing and was AMPLIFIED as fuck during the current shortages but it can't last forever - otherwise people will just flock to consoles and laptops until manufacturers get the message.
Heck with mining coming to an end soon™ (and gpu prices already falling) they'll have a hard time selling the new stuff at insane prices if there aren't shortage pressures on the market (just like in the previous mining bust)
braveexpensive new world. They're doing it because people have shown they will pay absurd prices and we don't have enough competition. Crypto miners don't care about price at all, unless crypto crashes big time the manufacturers can charge what they want, they are selling every card they want even at today's absurd prices. Also each new node shrink is costing more and TSMC is raising prices. They have us over a barrel.+1
People always commenting with what they think is wrong with the industry. When in fact, everything is A-OK. Companies making millions selling overpriced GPUs and peeps be smiling with their pixel pumping RTX cards! The way I see it, everyone's a winner. Only losers are us forum users complaining about overpriced cards!
Oh yes, and we like to knock Intel for trying to make the situation better by introducing competition. ;)
Everything is as it should be. Amen!
